Close to the fortified village of Warkworth is the quiet sands of Warkworth Beach. This medieval village is nestled at the end of a tight loop of the Coquet River on a rocky spur.
Warkworth Beach
No matter if you’re here for a day of sunbathing, sandcastle building, or a brisk walk, there will always be room for you. Here, the water quality is excellent. All levels of competence are catered for by Northside Surf School, which operates year-round on the beach and offers instruction on a daily basis.
Views of Alnmouth and Coquet Island, which is now an RSPB reserve, may be seen from the beach. You can either take a short walk from the village centre or park your car at Warkworth Golf Club for easy access to the beach.
