• "Wonderful 50th birthday weekend at Ash Villa."

  The house is absolutely stunning. It worked so well for our celebrations. Space in the basement for the kids if they wanted time away from the adults. The facilities are first class. We really could not have asked for more. Special mention to Andrea who greeted our party and left us a lovely hamper.

• "Where do I begin ."

  . We had a wonderful stay at Ash villa last weekend 6-8th September. We were met by the lovely Andrea who showed us around and was quick to respond to anything we needed . We appreciated the beautiful welcome hamper with champagne. The house is exactly or even better than the pictures . The kitchen is modern and fully equipped, all the bedrooms are spacious with really comfortable beds . The views from the house are absolutely amazing . We will definitely be staying again .

• "Great cottage!"

  We were a family of 10 with young and old and the cottage worked so well. Beautiful views out and the house itself is lovely. The bedrooms worked well for us and the cinema room was a hit! The house was clean and the kitchen very well equipped. The sofas in the lounge were plenty big enough (although could do with a few cushions I think). We had a really great week

• "Excellent location."

• "Awful property and owners."

  Don’t believe the reviews Countless issues with the property, owners are neglectful and unhelpful. Fridge is broken, hot water keeps running out. Downstairs basement/ bathroom reeks of urine. Basement full of spiders and attic windows are filled with red ants that came onto the beds all weekend. Cinema room has no sound, and the house was full of dust. Upon pointing out these issues to Andrea, she then accused us of damaging the property after we left which was a complete lie. Also accusing us of making too much noise when it was just a girls weekend and none of us even drink alcohol. She also accused us of not leaving the property clean, when we’d cleaned all weekend and the house was more clean when we left. We had to hoover the spiders, cobwebs and dust all weekend. Not happy at all about being accused of something we’ve not done. awful scare tactics from the owners to try to scare us into not taking the complaint further, rather than try to address the issues & take responsibility. Neither Owners were available all weekend when needed, phones kept going to voicemail or getting back to use hours later. So unprofessional and unhelpful. Not at all as advertised.

  We thank you for posting your review and at the same time, we apologise for any dissatisfaction that you might have experienced. Unfortunately we have had an extremely poor experience with Shahida and her party. Over the weekend, Andrea only received one call asking how to use the hob, which was resolved immediately. Other issues were not reported until after they had left. These included a spider on a bed, the hot water not working and the cinema room sound not working. If we had been asked over the weekend, we could have let them know how to easily rectify these issues. We would have gotten the hot water working, we would have changed the affected bed, and we would have turned on the sound system for them. We aren’t able to resolve issues that aren’t reported, if we are not given the chance to fix them. Shahida asked for a refund on departure, but we denied these for several reasons: The neighbours reported noise disruptions from Shahida & party, Ash Villa was left very unclean. We have photographic evidence of bin bags full of rubbish from upstairs in the bedrooms, stains on the beds, and a bin bag full of waste from outside. It has cost more in cleaning fees than usual. The driveway wall was damaged, with photographic evidence. It means that we have had to call a maintenance man to repair the damage, costing a significant amount in labour & materials. After the departure of Shahida & party, Andrea and I have received at least a dozen calls over the space of 2 days from Shahida & party. We have reported this to Sykes. We have also had to change key codes, gate code & installed CCTV. Some of the staff members at Ash Villa stated that they felt unnerved after their departure, and we have had to take measures to ensure their safety. As we can see from previous reviews on Sykes & Booking.com, we have an excellent rating, and we make sure that guest satisfaction is our priority. We want nothing more than future guests to have a lovely time at Ash Villa. Property Owner

• "We booked a weekend stay for a joint birthday and Father’s Day with 13 family members."

  Communication was great and we were welcomed on arrival. The views from the property were absolutely stunning and the bedroom layout of the property was great for large gatherings. Beds were all comfortable and the decor in the bedroom next to the cinema room was lovely! There are just a couple of things that made me not give the property a 10/10. The property on the inside overall is looking very tired. There were holes in the bedroom curtains, the living room sofas were very worn and not enough seating for all of us so we had to split ourselves between kitchen and living room. The cutlery draw is missing a pizza cutter. On arrival there was a fridge that was leaking water and a towel had been put down but we did have use of another fridge thankfully. These things didn’t put me off staying, but I think if sorted, it would then be well worth the money spent. It was a lovely stay and the location is beautiful, you won’t be disappointed!

We are going to replace the sofa & armchairs very shortly, and we will get the curtains repaired as soon as there is a gap in between bookings. • "Great property and great hosts."

  Met us and showed us around and how things worked. Very friendly and welcoming. We stayed with family and would definitely stay again. Great space and plenty of room that you don’t feel squashed in. Highly recommend.

• "Ash Villa was a great house we had a lovely time with friends."

  Andrea went above and beyond and was a great host. The location of the house was close to Holmfirth . The house was spacious and very clean. The welcome pack was great too. Would highly recommend this lovely house .

• "We had a great time staying at Ash Villa."

  Holmfirth is lovely and there was much more to do than we expected. Loads of interesting shops, restaurants and bars. The house was great. Lots of communal living space and nice, spacious bedrooms. Kitchen well equipped and everything explained very well by the owner. Owner was great and flexible when we arrived. All very good and a great place for us (as a group of six individuals) to stay and relax.

• "Enjoyed our stay as a group."

  Home is lovely and comfortable beds. Communal areas are great especially the large dining table. It would have been useful for all rooms to have a mirror. Also things like washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, laundry detergent, barbecue lighter would all have been welcome. Communication was good and we were able to contact someone throughout our stay as needed.

• "The house is beautiful, roomy and was very clean but the bathroom information is misleading, two bathrooms are en-suite which means that 6 people share the other bathroom on the first floor, there are no ground floor bathroom facilities other than a toilet."

  This is a lovely property, very clean inside but the garden was neglected, weeds, still Autumn leaves ( late May) and contrary to the pictures Astroturf instead of lawn. Access to the property is difficult, a very steep drive , if your vehicle is wider or longer eg an estate it is hazardous.

• "There were just a few things that could have made this house excellent."

  The lounge needs another sofa as we couldn’t all sit together. The main bathroom definitely needs something to put your toiletries on in the shower and the water takes ages to drain. The driveway is extremely steep, this should be mentioned better in your listing. The area outside the door was very dirty, every time we came into the house, you brought it all in with you. This made the kitchen floor really dirty. Overall though, we really enjoyed our stay.

• "Lovely property and Andrea took very good care of welcoming us and showing us around."

  Really nice welcome hamper and overall good facilities. There are 2 en-suites, a family bathroom and an additional toilet, I know some people have reviewed poorly based on this but we found it no issue for our stay. Sonos is no longer installed but this didn’t really affect us. Really lovely views and ideal for a large group, kitchen is well equipped and everywhere is very clean. We’d definitely stay again!

• "Although we had a nice stay we would not book this property again and would not have booked it in the first instance if the Sykes description had been accurate."

  The listing says it has 5 bathrooms when it actually has 3, 2 or which are ensuite so not really suitable for anyone other than the people staying in that room. The other 2 bathrooms are actually just toilets. There is no way we would have booked this property if this had been accurately described in the listing. Also, there are not enough comfy sofas in the lounge area for the number of people staying at the property.

• "Incredible property with a real wow factor."

  Perfect for a group getaway. The hosts have catered for every situation with large table for dining. Quality finish in the kitchen and downstairs with some impressive modern additions. Close enough to walk into holmfirth. Only recommendation is that they have a close by the house so you know where you’re going.

  Well-equipped kitchen with everything you need to cook for a large group. We had everything we needed for a weekend stay and more. Our host was lovely and very welcoming and approachable, and the hamper was a lovely gesture. We all had an amazing time.

  There was great communication from the manager who was very helpful. Very well equipped kitchen (other than a frying pan), fabulous coffee machine, very comfy beds and great views from the patio or decking. Walks from the door too!

• "My friends and I booked Ash Villa for a girlie UK getaway."

  We couldn’t have wished for a better stay, the house is absolutely stunning and the views are just incredible. All queries we had were answered promptly and they were able to provide extra cot and high chair which was great! I would 100% recommend this property and would love to come back some time!

• "Fantastic stay!"

  Amazing house and grounds, gorgeous views. Welcome package was a lovely touch. Host was very accommodating to our early arrival and late check out, easy check in and out system. Our only two gripes was the back door was impossible to open and lock, leaving us to leave it open all weekend, and I would advise taking your own mirror’s as none provided in some rooms/bathrooms, oh and the induction hob was a pain to work with multiple pans. Would 100% book again!! !! Thank you

• "This was my second return to ash villa."

  There’s were 14 of us on this occasion and we had the best stay. The villa is so clean and the beds are comfiest we have ever stayed in. All 14 of us had the best trip. Making amazing memories to last a life time. I’m sure we will be back next year. X

• "Gorgeous house and great location."

  We had no hot water for the first night and day- not acceptable on a 3 day break- it should have been checked before we got there. But- as per other guests comments in the guest book- this has happened with the water before so think the owners need to alter the way they provide water to a large amount of people. Also- why no doors on two of the en-suite bathrooms? makes it really difficult to share a family room- we have two teenagers - we don’t want to see them going to the toilet and they definitely don’t want to see mum and dad going to the toilet. Would be simple to rectify - other guests have commented on this. Also- some booklets or info sheets on how to use the coffee machine and various other electrical items provided.

• "We had a family get together at Ash villa 6 adults & 2 children to celebrate my sons 40th so had stacks of room & spoilt for choice with bedrooms, we had a lovely time in this beautiful home made even better having Casey & Andrea on hand at all times to show us the facilities and answer questions, nothing too much trouble for them ."

• "My family & I really loved Ash Villa & had a great time."

  It was lacking in some kitchen equipment ! For eg: to say the villa sleeps 14 there was only 1 saucepan ! However the manager Andrea soon rectified this & sorted out any problems we had. I would definitely recommend to family & friends.

• "The house is beautiful, really big bedrooms and we loved the open plan kitchen, and walk through lounge area."

  The house is warm and cozy and we loved the wood burner. Cinema room was well used and our son loved the basement bedroom! The views from the front of the house are amazing and it is such a beautiful area. Lovely walks from the door. Comms before and during our stay were great. A couple of minor niggles including two of the kitchen drawers (and some utensils) needed cleaning, but the rest of the house was immaculate and we had everything we needed, and more. There was a lovely arrival pack, with milk and a bottle of wine waiting in the fridge. If there had been more of us I think that there might have been pressure on the showers (two of the showers are in ensuite bathrooms, and only one is accessible to all in the huge family bathroom), and more (larger) pans might be needed for bigger groups. We had a fantastic holiday here, and want to return for a longer stay, with more family members, as soon as we can (we were a small immediate family group, because of CV19 restrictions).

  Everything you need, from kitchen equipment to entertainment, to the lovely little touches of milk, coffee, sugar etc & also a lovely welcoming basket. The area and views are stunning. Lovely 20 minute walk into town of Holmfirth, which was great, plenty of little quirkey shops. Would certainly stay again & recommend this Villa. A big thankyou to Andrea & Casey for everything they did to make it a fabulous week for us.
