  • "We found the property in excellent condition, and we all feel that we got more than we bargained for!"

The house was cosy and welcoming, with a very sympathetic mix of older features and modern updates. The kitchen was very well furnished with everything a family could want for a holiday, and the bedrooms were extremely comfortable. Thank's to the efforts of the cleaners, everything was spic and span throughout! Thankyou for providing us with a most comfortable base from which we could explore the Lizard and beyond!

Thanks Tracey - really pleased you had such a good time despite the weather. Egg cups on order! Property Owner

  • "The house had plenty of space for out party of 9 and could not be faulted for location, with an excellent view from the patio over Coverack bay."

Our youngest grandchildren loved the space the garden provides to play and explore while the older ones mad use of the loungers on the patio to soak up the sun. We spotted dolphins and whales in the bay and various birds in the trees. The new kitchen had everything we needed and more. Minor niggles were that the locks on the external doors were rather stiff and would probably benefit from a bit of oil and our en suite bathroom door could not be shut properly. In addition our bathroom had a couple of unfinished edges to the 'marble' panels. The fact that access to the games room was through the ground floor bedroom could have caused problems as there was no door separating them. This wasn't evident from the photographs of the property. There were other minor handyman tasks required, but towards the end of a busy season they are to be expected. Overall we really enjoyed our week at Penmarth House and came away with many happy memories.

  • "We had a magical time at Penmarth the views are completely outstanding and gardens beautiful."

Especially enhanced by the occasional visit of a young deer. The upgraded kitchen is superb, oven is amazing & we found it to be so well equipped. The orange settees were somewhat low & a little uncomfortable but we understand reasons being a rental. Beds were comfortable. I think they could be improved for safety and still remain aesthetically pleasing in keeping with the stone work. This has been by far our best holiday to Cornwall, I am completely in love with Coverack and will return regretfully not to Penmarth as the rate increase has put it out of our reach.

  • "The situation and views from the property were absolutely excellent."

The family loved playing ball games on the large garden area. The family of rabbits living in the garden were a delight to watch. The property is extremely well furnished with everything you could possibly need and to a very high standard. The only slight inconvenience was that one shower wasn’t working and the owner was unable to get it fixed. Coverack itself is a delight. So unspoilt and very picturesque. We would highly recommend this property.

  • "We’ve just returned from Penmarth House after a truly fabulous week in this truly gorgeous home."

We thought the refurbishments were wonderful and loved the look the owners have achieved.  We’ve holidayed in Coverack many times before and always admired Penmarth and thought what a fabulous house it is with its elevated position looking across the harbour and village. It did not disappoint and it was an absolute pleasure to celebrate my 60th birthday there and to show some friends new to Coverack the delights of the area - It was great to see the village so unspoiled and thriving. We were sad to leave Coverack and the fabulous views from Penmarth and hope to be back soon.

Thank you Pippa for the great feedback and very pleased you had such a great time. I hope we'll see you again! Property Owner

  • "A superb house with ample space, a wonderful position and beautiful gardens."

We had a great week and would come back. The summary was inconsistent with the full description (2 king size). There were numerous animal hairs downstairs and the rugs were a trip hazard. The main freezer did not work, neither did the shower over the bath. The small oven did not work. Strong drains smell in twin shower room. There were only a couple of soap dispensers in the house, welcome packs were of limited value. These were irritating issues in an otherwise premium house.

Thank you for your feedback Robin. Your comments will all be taken on board. The bath shower was broken the previous week but only identified on change over - it was fixed the following week. We have been aware of the freezer issue despite manufacturer coming out twice but we did put another freezer in the room. Rugs will be fastened tighter - the small oven does work but we will update instructions. Soap dispensers have now been put in all bathrooms. Property Owner

  • "Fantastic position and facilities."

Very spacious and everything you could possibly require. ....even an upright piano! The annexe was very comfortable with helpful aids in the shower room, however,it would be difficult for someone in a wheelchair to get in and out of the house. The side door in the kitchen is very difficult to lock and unlock. It took us a while to locate the cutlery drawer! These are minor issues in what was a great stay enjoyed by all the family.

Thank you Sarah - agreed re wheel chair and will look into potential for a ramp to one of the french windows. Will put a sign up to say that the cutlery draw is a pull out from the top large draw opposite the sink. Really pleased you had a great time Property Owner

  • "Stayed in Penmarth House for a week from 29th April."

We used to have family that lived in the next village so we knew the area very well. Absolutely loved the house. It had everything you might need to make your stay in this beautiful part of Cornwall really comfortable. The kitchen was so well equipped and was so lovely of the owners to leave a welcome pack. The grounds outside and the views from the property were amazing and the children in our party loved watching the rabbits bouncing around the lawns. The only gripe I had was the showers, the one in the main bedroom needs the fitting replaced as it was leaking from the top and the one in the small bedroom upstairs was really just trickling but this in no way detracted from our enjoyment of this beautiful house. Would definitely love to return.

Thank you Noreen and really pleased you had an enjoyable stay. Noted on the shower and I have instructed this to be fixed ASAP. The only problem with the rabbits is that they are nibbling at the herb garden by the kitchen - hopefully that will soon be fenced off from them. I hope you can return again in the future Property Owner

  • "A beautifully placed house overlooking fantastic views, away from the hustle and bustle of towns and within easy reach of shops, pubs and restaurant."

We loved watching the sunrise everday and enjoyed all the local walks a visit to Roskilly ice cream is a must! The house was very spacious and suited our large family perfectly with plenty of room to spread out. The games room is a good idea but did not get used because of going through a bedroom, however the board games provided were a superhit. The owners had provided a lovely welcome pack and any issues we had were very quickly resolved. Apart from a few pots and pans we had to clean before use and some rooms with poor shower force, we did have a great break. Thankyou for this pefectly placed house where we had a fantastic holiday. We will be revisiting it again.

Thank you Urmila for the feedback. I was down this week with my family and you'll be pleased to know that we have made some enhancements this week including 1) New pipework upstairs that has increased shower pressure in the bathrooms 2) New paving down the side of the house to match the new patio at the front 3) Painting of the external eves 4) Some new pots and pans 5) a few more pictures for walls around the house. The summer season is just starting and fingers crossed for great weather! We also now have a connection to a local fisherman who can provide fresh fish (he usually goes out twice a week) and he will deliver to the house as soon as he has unloaded from Coverack harbour. I hope you will come back to Penmarth House soon! Property Owner

  • "We really enjoyed our stay!"

The cottage was beautiful and spacious. The garden was huge and everywhere was clean and well kept. We love how close we were to the beach, we also enjoyed going to the bay hotel which is a short walk for a hot chocolate each evening ( and they made a huge fuss of the dog and kids there) only suggestion we could think of we would have preferred the pool table in the dining room with the fridge in. The children kept walking through one of the guests bedrooms to get to the pool table and could have been easier if it was in that room. Would definitely stay again,

Thank you, Angela - I appreciate your feedback and a good idea in regards to the pool table! Will take a look when I'm down in two week's time and see what can be done. Best wishes Shaun Crawford Property Owner

The views are stunning and the gardens match those. The house is perfect for large groups, stocked so well too. It could do with a proper clean but it didn’t spoil our holiday. Coverack village was great too, we visited the Paris Hotel - food was delicious. A stunning property that didn’t disappoint.

Thank you Lou for your feedback and very pleased you had a great time. It would be very helpful to me if you could drop me a quick email to summarise what was not as clean as you expected. I can then advise the management company so we don't have this again We are making a number of enhancements outside (patio and lights) and inside (roof abd door insulation, curtain rails in dining room and extra power for all showers) over the next three weeks. Any other suggestions would also be very helpful. I hope we see you again in Penmarth House My email is shaun.crawford@btinternet.com Thank you again Property Owner

  • "Beautiful house with fantastic views."

Accommodation spacious . We enjoyed our stay with family aged 9 to 87. We had an issue with the washing machine door would not open so our clothes were stuck for a couple of days . The freezer seemed not to work properly as items did not keep frozen , The small dishwasher door was very unstable . The gardener came on the Friday at 12 and stayed all afternoon. Given that you don’t get the property until 5 on Saturday I feel that it would be better if the gardener came on a Saturday. There were lots of cobwebs around the house and thick dust especially behind the door in the downstairs bedroom. It would be good to have an outdoor table and more than one tv in the house . The telescope was great and the air hockey enjoyed by everyone. Happy holidays !

Had a wonderful holiday. The views from the house are beautiful. A minor point if you have dogs - there is a little boggy area in the garden that was an issue as they made a bee line for it and got very muddy but I am guessing this is a winter issue only. Overall this house was fabulous with everything you need and if you like to cook whilst away as we do, it has all you need. Will definitely book this house again.

Thank you Angela for the feedback. Yes I am aware of the boggy area which is a winter issue but we have worked out a way to put better draining in and ideally fill the pond at the very bottom. Hopefully when you come again, this will be sorted! Property Owner
