Being one of the Gower Peninsula’s most photographed spots, we thought this beach deserved to be at the top of our Gower beaches list! With its unique geology and expansive sands, Three Cliffs Bay Beach really makes for a memorable beach outing.
After parking up, you will need to make your way over the sand dunes, where you can follow a flat trail through the valley bottom. However, if there is a high tide, you will need to climb the rough terrain over the dunes.
One of the major highlights of this beach is its sheer size! At low tide, it joins up with many of the beaches mentioned in this guide, including Oxwich Bay. This means you can easily enjoy a lengthy coastal stroll.
Of course, another activity to do here is snap lots of scenic pictures! The limestone cliffs, Pennard Pill Stream and rock pools are just some of the great photo opportunities that make this beach one of South Wales’ best beaches.

You can easily access this Gower beach from the car park, which is on the beach’s doorstep! If you’re not visiting via car, don’t worry, the 117 bus to Bishopston stops here.
Due to the beach’s very gentle slopes, this is a great spot for an accessible day out.
With its high water quality, this beach is perfect for paddling. If you’re a watersports enthusiast, Oxwich Bay Beach is perfect for you too! Kayaking, canoeing and jet-skiing are a few activities to enjoy here.

If you’re travelling by car, you’ll find the car park rests about 400 metres from the beach. You can enjoy a flat walk along the sand from the car park, and there are a couple of wheelchairs available to hire if you need them.
Travelling via bus? The 2C from Swansea to Caswell Bay stops at the car park; very handy!
When it comes to traditional beach outings, this is the beach for you. At low tide, the beach showcases several rock pools for the little ones to explore, whilst the lengthy sands offer ample space to sunbathe.

One of the most popular beaches on the Gower Peninsula, Port Eynon Beach is a Blue Flag gem to add to your itinerary. Serviced by great facilities, you have everything you need for a family beach day here.
The beach’s car park rests a short walk away from the sands, making it easy to access. However, if you’re travelling via an Adventure Travel bus, please note that there is a walk along rough terrain from the closest bus stop to the beach.
With the beach being nearly a mile long, there is plenty of space for you and your loved ones to spread out and make the most of it. Don’t forget to explore the dunes, where you can spot an array of wildlife, including the black-headed gull.
If you want to take to the water, you’ll be pleased to find a small slipway at this Gower beach. Launch sailing and diving boats here, or try your hand at windsurfing instead.

If you love peace and quiet, Pobbles Bay Beach is a fantastic choice for a beach day. A beautiful area of the Gower Peninsula, its golden sands and rugged cliffs are bound to amaze.
This is one of the Gower beaches that is a little difficult to access as it does not have its own car park. The nearest car park is in Southgate, so you will have to walk 1.3 miles along the Wales Coast Path to reach this beach.
One of the top activities to try at this Gower beach is swimming! However, please only do this during low tide as this is when it’s safest.
Due to the lack of facilities, we recommend bringing along a picnic. So, you can look forward to an alfresco lunch amidst far-reaching views of the ocean.

To reach Mewslade Bay Beach, you need to park up at Mewslade Car Park before venturing down a forested trail through the valley. Unfortunately, this path is not wheelchair or pushchair-friendly.
The best time to visit this beach is during low tide, as this is when the beach appears! At low tide, the beach is a hit with families and surfers.
Walkers also love this beach, with there being a possibility to walk towards Fall Bay from the beach during low tide. Alternatively, spend time exploring the cliff path to Butterslade.

Due to its secluded nature, this beach is a little harder to reach. You will need to access via Bishopston, where you can walk along the coastal trail or through Bishopston Valley.
After embarking on the walk to this beach, you will be rewarded with peace and quiet! With its lack of crowds, it makes for the perfect proposal spot!
Dogs are also allowed at this beach all year round, so you and your pooch can look forward to scenic, winding walks along the coast.

To reach this Gower beach, you need to park at the village car park and make your way down the wooden steps. Due to the steepness of the steps and lack of ramps, this beach is not wheelchair-friendly.
The walk down the steps is stunning, especially on a clear day, as you can see Ynys Lanwol and the Pembrokeshire coast in the distance.
The biggest must-see at Rhossili Bay Beach is the wildlife! Grey seals lazing on the rocks and razorbills flying near the cliffs are just a couple of the sights here.
The three-mile beach is another fantastic surfing spot in Wales, thanks to its Atlantic swell. Alternatively, stay dry and embark on a walk along the cliffs via the Rhossili Headland walk.

This beach is easy to access, being adjacent to a car park. Simply park up at Southend Car Park and cross the road to Mumbles Beach. Several buses also stop at the nearby Mumbles Pier, including the 2A from Swansea and 2B from Limeslade.
One of the first things you’ll notice when at this beach is its views! You can spot the Mumbles Lighthouse and the piercing cliffs the beach backs onto.
This beach on the Gower Peninsula also rests moments away from Mumbles Pier. Ample fun awaits here, such as an arcade, The Gamez Room and fishing facilities.
