With the Tour de Yorkshire 2019 almost upon us, we thought we’d share the best places you can stay to watch all of the action.
Riders will soon be tackling some of the UK’s most gruelling climbs, covering over 480km, and it certainly won’t disappoint the avid cycling fans amongst us.

Stage 1: The Heritage Stage – Doncaster to Selby – 178.5km (Thursday 2nd May)
The cyclists will begin their journey outside Doncaster’s charming Market Place, heading towards Beverley. Along the way, they will take in the sights of Cowick Hall and Howden Minster, before contesting the race’s first intermediate sprint, in Elloughton. Racers will then make their way towards the Yorkshire Wolds, tackling the challenging climb of Baggaby Hill before the second intermediate spring of this stage.
Once you’ve seen this prestigious race take off, be sure to make the most of Doncaster’s array of shops, bars and restaurants at your disposal.
Stage 1 of the 2019 Tour de Yorkshire comes to an end at the characterful town of Selby, just outside of its striking abbey, which is celebrating its 950th year in 2019. While visiting Selby, take some time to wander its attractive streets and make the most of the array of fine amenities.
Stay at the start of Stage 1 – Providence Apartment (Ref. 974788), Epworth, Lincolnshire

Stay at the finish of Stage 1 – Little Acres (Ref. 972908), Cawood, North Yorkshire

Stage 2: The World Stage – Barnsley to Bedale – 132km (Friday 3rd May)
The elite female cyclists join in with the fun on this leg, beginning in the South Yorkshire town of Barnsley. The peloton will head northeast towards historic Pontefract for the first intermediate sprint of the day. The route then leads towards the bustling city of Leeds, before embarking on one of five new climbs in the Tour de Yorkshire 2019 route – Côte de Lindley.
The next stop is elegant Harrogate, where the cyclists will take the same route as the 2019 UCI Road World Championships. The circuit then presents another intermediate sprint, before leading to Ripon and coming to a halt in the charming market town of Bedale.
Stay at the finish of Stage 2 – Edmunds Cottage (Ref. 971968), Crakehall, North Yorkshire
Edmunds Cottage, just a stone’s throw from Stage 2’s conclusion, boasts a marvellous combination of traditional character and contemporary splendour. The sleeping arrangements are ideal for two couples looking to come and experience the excitement of the Tour de Yorkshire.

Stage 3: The Yorkshire Coast – Bridlington to Scarborough – 132.5km
This stage of the Tour de Yorkshire 2019 truly is a sight to behold, especially its seaside starting point within the popular resort of Bridlington. Let the seascapes sink in as you travel north along the Yorkshire coast towards the equally magnificent North York Moors National Park.
Cyclists can admire the striking Robin Hood’s Bay before heading to the ancient port of Whitby, contesting an intermediate sprint in front of the famous abbey. The route takes you on a 52km loop throughout the spectacular Moors, with peaks and troughs aplenty as the stage begins its dissent.
The trail then heads back down the Yorkshire coast and towards the ever-popular seaside resort of Scarborough – where the winner of the women’s race will be crowned. Meanwhile, the men’s race completes the penultimate stage, ready for the big day on Sunday 5th May.
Stay at the start of Stage 3 – Angel by the Sea (Ref. 1010022), Bridlington, Yorkshire Coast
Take to this immaculate first-floor apartment to watch the beginning of the Yorkshire Coast stage of the Tour de Yorkshire. Its monochrome décor gives the 4-person accommodation a real sense of elegant style.

Stage 4: The Yorkshire Classic – Halifax to Leeds – 175km
The final, and longest stage of the Tour de Yorkshire 2019 sets off from the attractive minster town of Halifax, outside of the stunning Piece Hall. The route then runs towards the fascinating Brontë Country, through Haworth and ascending Côte de Goose Eye. Riders will come across another challenging climb in Craven, where they must conquer Côte de Barden Moor.
The latter stages of the Tour de Yorkshire 2019 sees cyclists loop through the natural splendour of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. A series of taxing climbs and sprints are endured while rolling through some of the region’s most renowned sights. Pass Nidderdale, Pateley Bridge and Masham before heading towards Leeds where the contest comes to an adrenaline-pumping end.
