Camborne Cottages
Just ten minutes inland from the north coast, our Camborne
holiday cottages are scattered in and around town, handy for shops
and places to eat and drink.
If you're into history, in particular industrial heritage,
look no further than a holiday rental in Camborne. Unravel the
story of mining at the King Edward Mine Museum and Mill,
Camborne's amazing tin mine still almost intact after 100
years. Or at East Pool Mine near Redruth (National Trust), part of the
Cornish Mining World Heritage Site, where impressive beam engines
are on display once powered by steam boilers made by local hero
Trevithick. Enthusiasts might like to plan their cottage holiday to
Camborne in April, a time the whole town celebrates the Trevithick
Day Festival. Expect brass bands, children's dancing, live
theatre, vintage vehicles, spluttering steam engines etc - fun for
all the family! Or come in July for the Camborne Show, an
agricultural show with heavy horses, dog show, prize cattle, ferret
racing, vintage tractors, children's entertainment and lots
more!
Outdoor fun near your Camborne holiday home
Find glades and lakeside paths in Tehidy Country Park, a
sprawling wooded area rich in flora and fauna. Blow away the
cobwebs and stomp along the rugged coastal path from Portreath towards Hayle, skirting Deadman's Cove,
Hell's Mouth and Ralph's Cupboard - watch out for seals and
all kinds of birdlife nesting around the headlands. Or hit the surf
and sweeping sands of Gwithian Towans Beach, with rolling sand
dunes and ample rock pools for budding beachcombers. Round of the
day sipping sundowners at the beachside café open year
round.
