Our Wellbeing Schemes
We are big on doing more for our team and challenge ourselves to introduce newer and more imaginative
wellbeing programmes each year. We also recognise that wellbeing means something different to
everyone. That’s why we take pride in offering out programmes that mean something to our team!
We ask, we listen and we take action!
So far we have rolled out a whole host of wellbeing schemes to our Chester team and Regional Brands
from circuits to yoga, Pilates to reflexology (and yes you read that correctly, we really do offer
massages at work!). By partnering with local gyms, small businesses and wellbeing professionals we
aim to support the best possible work-life balance to our employees through a whole host of
wellbeing activities, classes and events to engage in.
Supporting our Team Mentally
Simply put, our team’s mental wellbeing matters and we make this crystal clear to
our colleagues through our ongoing support!
We understand we have a moral responsibility to our team to ensure they are happy, healthy and stay
loving what they do – and we pay far more than just lip service to this pledge. Over the last year
especially we have driven considerable focus towards building out a companywide wellbeing programme
covering everything from mental health and resilience training, making the most of internal
communication channels to share wellbeing strategies and tips and breaking down barriers with
monthly workshops to make strides towards fully supporting our team’s wellbeing on a big scale!
We promote a culture of openness at Sykes and understand something the stress gets to all of us,
that's why we have an in-house counsellor, readily available to lend a listening ear. We also
provide 24/7 wellbeing support through our mental health partners, on hand day or night to provide
emotional and physical support to our entire team and additional Regional Brands!
The Little Extras
It goes without saying, we recognise taking care of our team means more than just a company football
table and a Christmas card every year and certainly don't take our responsibility to our team's
wellbeing lightly!
This doesn't however mean we can't include a few little extra's that have become Sykes tradition
alongside our big plans either! If we are honest, we are big softies at heart and love nothing more
than spoiling our team as soon as a holiday comes around. Whether it's an Easter egg at Easter,
flower from our CEO on Valentine's Day or advent calendar at Christmas, we make sure we make the
most of any excuse to spoil our team with even these little gestures throughout the year!
(And if our team can't wait until the next holiday, our bi-monthly, and now infamous, Bring Your Pet
to Work Day is on hand to tide us over until then!)
Making it a Family-Affair
We are one big family at Sykes but that doesn’t mean we don’t invite yours along to
join in too!
Whether hosting pumpkin carving challenges for our Sykes kiddies, welcoming family, friends and loved
ones to our Summer Festival (aptly named ‘SykesStock’) or sending out something for all
to enjoy around Christmas, we do our best to make sure our employees wider family have a chance to
get in on the action and are made to feel like part of the family too!
