And we all felt very cosied up as the edge of the hurricane and then storm Lilian rattled through. Thank you so much - we will be back.

  • "Great place to stay."

We stayed to complete the Coastal Path LDW and it was just right. Beds were comfortable, hadn’t realised when making the booking, that the second bathroom was by the kitchen and the trips in the night to the bathroom, were not helped by the narrow stair case. All in all a great cottage in an excellent location. The pub is across the road which was handy although they do not do food or real ale, however still enjoyed our visits. Would stay again

  • "Nice cottage to explore the island."

We had a great week at Malltraeth cottage, weather was brilliant for the time of the year, cottage was clean and had everything we needed, lovely welcome basket which was very much appreciated.Very comfortable bed and a great shower, the back enclosed garden was very small and not really suitable for our dog,the main living room got a bit cold in the evening as the economy seven heaters were cooling down, the staircase was very narrow and I struggled to go up it carrying a suitcase, there needs to be more warning about the step down into the main bedroom,I did not see the small warning sign at the top of the door as it was already open and had a bad fall into the room, the sun lounge is a great place to sit and admire the views of Snowdon and the llyn peninsula and the many birds on the estuary when the tide was out(pity about the blue porta loo spoiling the view, other than that we had a great week exploring the best beaches and forest walks, nice pub across the road and great fish and chips in Newbourogh,we would book again.

  • "This is a very nice cottage with everything you need."

Our 2 dogs enjoyed it but the garden at the back is quite small. Good dog walks close by. We found the stair a little bit steep. Not suitable for the elderly. Pub opposite but did not hear any noise from there. Good fish and chip shop just up the road. Beds very comfortable and the views outstanding. If we visit Anglesey again would definitely book this cottage.

  • "The house was nice and comfortable and in a good spot."

We were disappointed with the size of the garden. Not enough room for dogs really. It sounded bigger on the description but was like a triangle shaped yard with lots of weeds. Did try to contact the owner one night as couldn’t get the tv working but they never answered, tried a couple of times and couldn’t leave a message as no answer phone.

Hi Amanda, sorry to hear about the TV, I do hope you managed to resolve it. We have now got an answer phone machine and weeded the garden. Glad you found the cottage comfortable. Property Owner

  • "Very comfortable beds."

Stairs on the narrow side. Great views. Settings for hot water and central heating were perfect and did not need to be tampered with. Plenty of seats, crockery, cutlery and glasses. Great to have dishwasher and washing machine with 2 under 5s. There was no private parking place, just a gap on the road in front of the house that was normally used by someone else. However the free carpark next to the house was perfect for loading and unloading. Overall perfect for 4 adults and two littles.

Thanks for your feedback and we are glad you felt the house had everything you needed. Sorry there isn't a private space but glad you were always able to park easily. Property Owner

Perfectly situated for trips to Newborough beach/forest, Rhosniger, and Aberfaw for body boarding and swimming. The cottage was a home away from home.

We are so glad to hear it, we also feel it is in a good location. Glad you ejoyed your holiday. Property Owner

  • "Location and house worked brilliantly for us aged from 2 to 67 and we all would like to go back."

The narrow staircase would be challenging for the elderly or those with mobility issues and that should be mentioned. Also would describe house as having a ‘courtyard with beautiful views across the estuary’ rather than an ‘enclosed patio garden’ - it isn’t a garden. And would suggest black out blinds at bedroom windows as well as the lovely curtains. This sounds gripey - it really isn’t meant to be - just suggestions. We had a truly wonderful week, the house is v well equipped, spotlessly clean, beds v comfy with views from every bedroom, excellent info file with local walks etc etc and lots of room downstairs for playing indoors on wet days and the sunroom in the kitchen was fabulous and with great views. And dog walks literally minutes from the house. We loved it.

Thank you for the lovely feedback, we are glad you enjoyed your stay so much. The stairs are mentioned but perhaps we can ask Sykes to highlight this more. Thanks again Property Owner

  • "We found the cottage sufficiently comfortable, but basic."

Decor is rather "tired" and could do with an update. Not sure if the details mentioned the stairs but they are very steep and narrow. Not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. The bathroom should have a non-slip map for use when showering. A nice location by Maltreath Bay, though two of the bedrooms were quite noisy from passing traffic.

We are glad you enjoyed the location and thanks for the feedback about the non-slip bath matt. The stairs are mentioned but perhaps we can ask Sykes to highlight this more. thank you Property Owner

Thank you for your feeback and hope you enjoyed your stay. We have acted on the gardening and our neighbours told us their building work would resume soon so hopefully this will improve the appearance of next door massively! Property Owner

  • "With the price over £500 for 2 nights I have stayed in far better for less."

Comfortable but basic. If you're staying here bring essentials/basics. Overlooks public carpark and remains of next door house / 'Cottage'. As we were 5 occupants for a local family wedding it was sufficient for our needs.

Hello, we're really sorry you felt the cottage was basic, we try to provide what we feel a family would need during their stay such as a welcome pack, towels, some cooking and cleaning supplies etc. We would appreciate hearing what other things we could have provided to make your stay more pleasant? Regarding the cost, this was due to the fact that we only do week-long stays (as advertised on Sykes) hence why you paid for a full week when you requested just to stay for a weekend. Please pass on any further comments if you would like. Thanks Property Owner

  • "Overall a lovely stay and a place we really enjoyed for the week especially after days at the beach!"

!! Beautiful touches and lovely warm and well lit rooms. Great space for bigger families and doggies. We loved the comfort of the lounge in the evenings and the great space in the kitchen to cook and appliances provided. The bedrooms were also really comfy though having 2 twin rooms is less ideal for couples and something to consider. Other things to note: - Provide more dish washer tablets for bigger families staying longer - Slide door at the back is getting stiff and got stuck on occasions - The end part of bannister is loose - Step to bedroom needs more awareness as older person in our group tripped down - Would be nice to add an umbrella in patio area as gets very hot in sunshine - would also be more private with car park right next to house which gets very busy

Thanks for all your feedback and points to note. We can certainly look into an outdoor umbrella so this was helpful to highlight! We have also reinforced the end bannister too and will highlight the bedroom step. Thanks again Property Owner

Thank you for the great welcome pack of food, much appreciated. Please be aware that the stair bannister at the bottom is a little lose. We did have a problem with lots of ants on the patio which were making there way into the kitchen patio door area. I used bleach and boiling water on them but more came back on the next sunny day. Would definitely stay again.

Thanks for the feedback. We have since reinforced the bannister but appreicate this being pointed out. We would love to welcome you back again! Property Owner

The arrival goodies were practical and generous. We enjoyed the sunroom in high winds and the patio for sitting with a drink. We would have appreciated instructions for the appliances and fittings. The local history, walks, fauna and flora were well covered by the information available in the cottage. Never found the parking space referred to, but the carpark is convenient in early season. When there was a small problem the owner dealt with it promptly and courteously.

From the cleanliness of the property to the welcome treats, we were made to feel really welcome. The village itself was really friendly and the pub across the road was worth a few visits. The views across the estuary were stunning. Being a 10 minute drive from the wonderful beach at Newbrough meant our 4 legged family member had plenty of exercise. The house had plenty of room for all the family with all the required facilities to make this a home away from home. Looking forward to our next visit to Malltreath in the hopefully not too distant future

  • "We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely spacious cottage which has great views, especially when the tide is in."

Generally the cottage is excellent but would point out one or two things which may be a problem if anyone has mobility issues. The sofas in the lounge are very low so it’s quite difficult to get out of them! The stairs are very narrow and steep - again a problem if your legs don’t work very well! The bed was extremely comfortable. We had no problem parking in the public car park right next to the cottage, but all week there was a road mending truck, complete with traffic lights, parked right outside the cottage, in what we assumed was our allocated parking space. We did miss having a guest comment book in the cottage. We have often found in previous places, that the book gives good ideas on where or where not to go. As this was our first visit to Anglesey we had to find our own good or bad places. Do eat in the quirky Riverside Cafe in the village. It’s very different and the owners are very friendly and helpful. The food is homemade and is basic, but tasty. The Sea Shanty in Trearddur Bay is another good place to eat and they are very dog friendly. Thank you for the lovely “goody bag” which was left for us. The milk and tea bags were very welcome so we could have a drink before unpacking. All in all this was a great place to stay and in a good position to explore this lovely part of Wales.

Hello and sorry for not replying straight away, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay. We have now added a guest book and updated the information folder with some more 'tips'. We also duly note your point about the sofa and I will ask Sykes to make the point about the staircase even clearer than it currently is. We can also only apologise about the building work outside!
