  • "For a large multi generation family group the property was generous in size."

All bedrooms were big with plenty of wardrobe space.Kitchen had loads of crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils + lots of space in the utility room. Things that would improve our rating: Tumble dryer did not dry and there was no line and the airer was also broken. Although the property was clean there were marks on the lounge carpet and sofa and it looked grubby. The sofas weren't very comfy, bath towels were on the small size and we had asked for a cot which was provided but no cot mattress. Disappointed there was no loo rolls or soaps. Surprised that there was no information book about the house or local area.

  • "Plenty of space for all of us."

This could be lovely with a bit of an update & maintenance but sadly the owners haven’t taken any notice of previous feedback. Toilet seat ( sounds a little thing I know ) still doesn’t fit so you are sitting on the bowl itself. Main shower is mouldy & the hose is broken. Kitchen is ill equipped for 9 people self catering. Carpets were absolutely filthy/stained. Instructions for the microwave would have been helpful too.

  • "Lovely house really enjoyed our stay."

A little maintainence needed such as dryer heats but doesn’t tumble, Ensuite toilet flush is very poor, main bathroom toilet seat doesn’t fit so will not stay up for men to use, kitchen sink water goes down drain very slowly. Apart from these minor details we enjoyed the spacious well equipped house.

  • "It's a warm, welcoming house in a great location."

Very well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and a layout that encourages friendly gatherings. The conservatory is a special asset! I would recommend changing all the door handles, some of our group have arthritis and struggled with the round knobs. A bit of interior maintenance would add to the sense of comfort, and a repair of the leak in the downstairs wash basin is urgently needed. Overall it's a very nice house for a large family group, with easy access to Menai Bridge, the rest of Anglesey and Snowdonia. I would book it again.

  • "Property location was ideal for us and on a nice quiet estate."

Size of the property was perfect, nice and spacious and was lovely sitting in the conservatory with my morning brew and the sun shining. We couldn’t get Netflix to logout of the current user to put our account on and it wouldn’t play with the current user logged in which was annoying as the kids wanted to watch a film. The en-suite bathroom window wouldn’t open properly and the fan doesn’t work. One bedroom had no curtains up and missing blind slats which needs to be sorted out. Beds were really comfortable, plenty of wardrobe space to put clothes away. The property contained all we required and we would definitely stay again. Pub up the road served lovely food and were very friendly.

  • "Lovely, well positioned and spacious property perfect for exploring the area."

However, it really needs a deep clean - just give a good dusting to those corners and wipe the skirting. Also, the ensuite toilet and washing basin seem to be blocked: the water in the washing basin accumulates very quickly even when you wash your hands, the pipes must be blocked. Also, the toilet in the ensuite bathroom does not flush properly. The kitchen needs some new pots, probably best if stainless steel ones, as the coated large pot is all flaky. The large Teflon frying pan has a very loose handle, it's not safe. Very pleased with the beds and the bedding - everything was clean and the beds were comfy. It would be a good idea to have extra plates, as for a party of 9 we had to do the dishes straight away. Also, for a party of 9 we did not have enough chairs. I am sure the owners know about the signs of leakage above the entrance door and in the dining area. We didn't use the washing machine and the dryer during our stay, so cannot comment on those. It would have been helpful to know there was a Tassimo coffee machine in the property - we would have brought our own pods. All in all, it was a nice holiday home for us. Thanks for the decorated Christmas tree Would you like us to publish your feedback? Please note that we will only publish your first name against the feedback published online. • "We had a lovely stay at Fron."

The house is spacious and was perfect for our needs. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of cupboard space. The kitchen and utility room was large. The kitchen appliances were good quality and it was very easy to put together a meal. The cream carpets the stairs were perhaps in need of a clean but that is to be expected at the end of the season. The location of the cottage is very convenient. Overall, we were delighted with the accommodation and would be happy to visit again next year.

  • "The property was perfect I don't know why it is only rated 4 ticks and not 5 ticks."

There was no stone left unturned with this property. Firstly the cleanliness was to the highest of standards there was not a blemish anywhere. The underfloor heating in the conservatory and kitchen made a difference in the evening times. The heating was easy to control and ran from a Worcester boiler. The fridge/,freezer was nice and big. A separate washroom with washing machine, tumble dryer and iron/ironing board was a great addition to the kitchen. The kitchen was a joy to use with a great compliment of kitchen utensils. There were even sealed storage bowls in with the kitchen utensils. There was a huge amount of seating with a dining area containing dining table and chairs, a kitchen counter table and chairs, 3 sofas in the lounge and 2 sofas in the conservatory. The beds were very comfortable. The carpets felt like new. There were 2 TVs one in the lounge and one in the kitchen with Sky TV and a Sky+ box as well as a Netflix account all set up. The downstairs toilet in addition to the 2 bathrooms was very well received. The only 2 things if being really picky was one of the window handles in the kitchen and one in one of the bedrooms were damaged and could do with being replaced although this did not affect the ability to open or close the windows. Also the extractor fan in the ensuite bathroom did not work.

  • "The house was spacious, clean and in a good location."

However, there were a few minor maintenance issues that others have addressed on here that haven’t been rectified. There was no blue recycling bin so a lot of bottles were left from the previous tenant. The freezer doors wouldn’t shut properly because they needed de icing so the food was thawing. in the main bathroom, the bath plug didn’t come out so you had to take a knife up to get it out each time which wasn’t ideal with children. The sink in the kitchen also seemed blocked as it took ages for the water to go. However, we did enjoy our stay and would go back. House would be perfect if there minor things were sorted.

The only downside was the lack of ability to recycle. It felt awful having to put heaps of recycling in the bin. We saw that other houses on the road had recycling bins, so surely this is something that could be arranged. Think of the climate emergency!

  • "Spacious house in a great central location."

There was everything we needed for our holiday. Although we would certainly go again there were a few minor housekeeping problems which, whilst they wouldn’t put us off, do need sorting. For example the rubbish collection procedure was conflicting and we couldn’t recycle. We even tried to take our own to the local tip but found when we got there that we needed an appointment. The grass in the garden was very long, certainly more than 2 weeks growth The en suite shower room smelt mouldy as though there was a leak. The house was basically clean and tidy and well equipped and we felt at home there, it just needed a bit of maintenance.

  • "The location was great."

The house was large. We did however have some concerns over previous comments by others who had rented the property. That was in September 2020. Now in June 2021, many of the items listed had still not been rectified. Considering the rental cost for the property I would have expected those issues to have been sorted. This is not a bad property just need the issues sorting to go from being “OK” to “Great” The garden was getting overgrown. There is notification that if items are not recycled there is a £50 surcharge. Difficult to justify as the relevant bins weren’t provided and the details of when bins exchange/due etc was dated 2020. There was still mould behind the shower in the master Bedroom. The sink did not work properly in there either. The pipework under the sink in the downstairs toilet had not been cleaned and several tiles missing. The decked area in front of the kitchen has not been maintained and two old gas cylinders left, one on the decking and one in the garden. There was no gate at the side to control access from the street into the property. The settees were difficult to sit on or had started to collapse. The carpets were marked in several places. In one room all the insulation had been removed from around a window and left on the corner of the window sill hidden behind the curtain. Marks on radiators in rooms showed they had not been cleaned. Light bulb missing from the side light in the living room. The utility room also left a lot to be desired with exposed pipework etc and the filter on the tumble dryer had not been cleaned for some time. There is also a big gap under the worktop where pipes and an appliance has been taken out leaving a stained floor. I feel that the home could do with a good deep clean which would rectify many of the issues.

  • "This is a well located property for anyone wishing to explore Anglesey, Snowdonia and the Llyn Peninsula."

Some people may be bothered by the road noise, especially if sleeping in the master bedroom. On arrival we found that the garden was completely overgrown, the wifi did not work, nor did the dishwasher. In fairness to Menai Holidays they responded very well to put matters right. The property does need a good, proper clean, especially in the bathrooms as there is mould in and around the shower areas. There are a few areas, downstairs loo, kitchen and master bathroom that smell musty. Personally we found the lounge settees very uncomfortable. We also found the instruction pack to be lacking in sufficient detail for example on how to connect to the wifi, recycling information was difficult to read and lack of information regarding the recycling of food waste - on our last day we found the food waste bin hidden away in the garage but no bags to put the waste in. The decked area in front of the kitchen has not been maintained and two old gas cylinders left, one on the decking and one in the garden. Following other reviews seen you would have thought that the garden area would have been maintained ready for August/September occupants. The utility area is a bit of a sorry state with cracked tiles on the floor, dirty washing machine and dirty tumble dryer. There is also a big gap under the worktop where pipes and an appliance has been taken out leaving a mouldy floor in parts. There still appears to be a problem with the sink in the kitchen as water takes a long time to drain away. This would be a really great property if Menai and the owner could work together to ensure that the property meets up to its expectations from the details shown on the website.

  • "Fron is well located close to Menai Bridge town and within easy reach of Anglesey's beaches and beauty spots; it has spacious living areas, a great TV, a huge conservatory and all the usual kitchen facilities to make life comfortable."

We were initially a little disappointed at the rather bare appearance of the lounge, etc., but realised that this would be an anti-Covid precaution and began to appreciate it. Tiled floors were easy to keep clean. Early in our stay we had a problem with the kitchen sink which required immediate attention: Menai Holidays were sympathetic and promptly sent a plumber to fix the leak. The neighbours were also very helpful. From the start we were told that one of the showers could not be used and the leak at the kitchen sink also meant that the dishwasher became inoperable. However, our anxieties quickly faded as we were well looked after by Menai and the joy of a family holiday was not to be spoiled. We made it to Trearddur Bay, Benllech, Rhosneigr beaches for as much as the weather would allow and had a lovely morning at Pili Palas butterfly farm which was great for small children. A superb meal was had locally at the Freckled Angel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Fron and would stay there again - it is a very comfortable house in a great location.
