I especially loved watching the donkeys

"What a wonderful place Just beautiful scenery Had the most wonderful week ..."
What a wonderful place Just beautiful scenery Had the most wonderful week with mother in law 3 daughters two friends of daughters and the dogs The cottage itself was very clean and everything you needed in it included Extra bedding and towels was also offered You do get smells of the farm and hear the cows but you’re out in the countryside so it’s to be expected and didn’t put us off at all We were told which fields were free so we could free run our dogs which we thought was absolutely brilliant We met the farm cats and dogs which my girls loved Used the washing machine a lot as having five girls they wear a lot of clothes Big washing lines to dry them Overall had the most fantastic week and the owner was such a lovely lady and had many chats Definitely will be going again Couldn’t fault anything

Mrs Campbell couldn’t do enough to ensure we were comfortable and had all we required, cottage was lovely and clean and comfortable, highly recommend this place , Mrs Campbell you’re a gem of a host, thank you xx

"We've just had a very enjoyable week at this farm cottage, the host is very welcoming of both 2 and 4 legged guests, and the welcome tray was a nice touch."
Will definitely return ❤
-
"Just returned from a 7 night stay, loved the hot tub, and the cottage, had everything we needed for the stay."
The host was great, and wasn’t far away if we had a query, would have been 5 stars if we didn’t have the heating pack up half way through our stay, but the host was trying to get this sorted, and being on a farm with cattle with did have a lot of flies getting in to the property, but we did get given plenty of fly spray when we asked, if we go back that way we would return.
-
"We loved our stay at Bran Goesgoch."
The accommodation was perfect for the age and size of our family group of 6 adults. The accommodation had everything we needed and the host was lovely and attentive. We loved the farm location and the views was beautiful. There are plenty of beaches and walks to choose from. We would definitely book again.
-
"Exactly as described, wonderful, peaceful and absolutely beautiful Location."
Lovely accommodation, got a glorious week for weather too. Owner is friendly, lovely and helpful.
-
"We had a lovely week here, my little boy loved seeing the animals and feeding the donkeys."
The owner, Gwyneth, is friendly and welcoming and was great with anything we needed. It’s in a beautiful area with lots of beaches nearby which our four dogs really enjoyed. We would love to come back again next year!
-
"The cottage was lovely, and the hot tub was ideal for resting in after walks on the beach."
The owner was really considerate & helpful, directing our lost food delivery driver, giving us information on where to go for lunches, games of pool etc. We knew the cottage was on a farm, but didn’t expect to be slap bang in the middle of it, so the views from the cottage weren’t great, and there was some noise from the farm machinery, gates banging & animals. What would have made our holiday better was that the Wi-Fi in the cottage struggled when 3 of us were trying to use it. One evening it didn’t work at all for any of us, which, with a teenager wasn’t ideal. And because there’s no Vodaphone or EE signal at the cottage unless you walked a few minutes down the lane we were a bit stuck. There are some board games and dvds in the cottage though which helped pass the time.
-
"Had a fantastic week here with our three labradors."
Lots of walks, beaches, beautiful scenery and wildlife around plus a hot tub to relax in at the end of the day. Some nice places to eat that are dog friendly including the White Eagle at Rhoscolyn. We enjoyed seeing the animals on the farm especially the donkeys and despite being a working farm it was quiet and relaxing. Gwyneth, the host, is friendly and helpful. The cottage was warm and cosy and had everything we needed for our stay. We are hoping for a return visit in the future.
-
"Very clean and comfortable, no tv, internet or mobile signal but board games and books were provided."
Wonderful views and countryside with great dog walks, then a relaxing recovery soak in the hot tub. The walled garden is good but larger breeds may be able to jump the wall. Based on a working farm.

"The cottage was has described ."
It was very clean with everything you could want while on holiday. the owner was lovely and very helpful. while we was there she had three donkeys arrive and we was aloud to go into the field to feed them which my two grandchildren loved . The hot tub was a wonderful addition we we used every night . there is a lovely beach only 4 miles away that has public toilets and places to eat and buy ice cream and coffee from. There isn't anything bad i can say about the cottage its a wonderful place to stay with stunning scenery all around . We all had a lovely time and would most deferentially return .
-
"The cottage itself was nice and clean."
However, the view- a pile of rubble in front of the hot tub was not appealing at all and a shame. Throughout our stay we experienced very poor water pressure and sometimes the water stopped completely for over half an hour at time. I was not happy, particularly as Sykes had sent us an email a month before telling us the water pressure had been fixed. I informed the owner and whilst I don't recall her apologising she provided bottled water. A plumber attended on day 3 and it improved slightly however we noticed tiny black bits in the water from water we had been collecting in saucepans! We were then concerned what had we been drinking! The owner did not appear interested and no compensation from Sykes! Very annoyed as we feel we have not had justice for what we had to put up with.
I appreciate that you were unhappy before you went into the cottage and you were offered a full refund. Sykes offered you 4 other cottages and I offered to re direct your grocery delivery which arrived one and a half hours later. This is a working farm and we do have housing for cattle and silage pits. "Lovely place , would have been useful to have information sheet on where the washing line was or possibly a tumble dryer when it rained and bins."
Mrs Campbell very helpful and friendly though had a great week, and the lovely animals noise rather than vehicles . Location is picturesque.

"We had a wonderful week on the farm."
The accomodation was first rate and provided everything we required. It was lovely seeing all the animals up close and the weather was perfect. We will definitely be back again.Gweneth the owner was so nice and couldn,t do enough for us. Thank you once again!!

"Lovely 3 bed, 2 bath cottage right in the middle of a farmyard."
Small, walled garden was ideal for letting our dogs out before bedtime, although a more agile dog would easily jump the wall. This is a working farm and the cattle sheds are right next to the house so if you don't like the smell or the sound of cattle, it's not for you. Also, there are tractors in and out and the cattle are driven right past the cottage, so mind your children. The proprieter, Gwyneth, is very warm and welcoming. She happily showed us around the farm and enthusiastically explained anything we were interested in. For the birdwatchers, there are Swallows nesting and many other birds around, including Buzzards and Kestrels. The Wales coast path is less than 1km away (almost at the end of the drive) and there are great views of the sea and Holyhead Mountain from the farm. The cottage was generally clean but the floor, although it has been bkeached just before we arrived, needed cleaning again and the plastic sofas (standard in dog friendly cottages) had to be thoroughly disinfected and wiped over by ourselves before we could sit on it. Everything else was clean enough. The bathrooms were well equipped and modern but the water supply was inadequate, so if someone was using the downstairs shower or the hose outside, you'd get no water upstairs. I believe this is being addressed soon with a new mains water service from the road. Hot water was very hot. Beds were comfy and clean. Lounge windows were too dirty to see out of. This is because it rained and then the tractors kicked up a lot of dust which then stuck to the wet glass. There is a hot tub in the garden which is cleaned and refilled each week and was very pleasant. Overall - a really nice holiday cottage, run by a lovely, genuine lady. For us, it was ideal. We would definitely stay there again.
-
"We had a lovely stay in the cottage with the hot tub."
It is on a working farm and we thought this added to the charm of the property. We read reviews prior to going regarding the water pressure. We found the pressure to be quite low when having a shower but managed to have one daily. There was never an occasion when we were without water. We enjoyed all the local walks that were accessible from the property and found this cottage to be a great base to explore Anglesey.
-
"Beds are very comfortable slept well."
But the lack of water was a real big issue, especially with a family of 6 .It felt like we were camping with no shower block .We had to decided either wash us or the pots .Upstairs shower never worked taps dribble water 1 min to fill kettle ,shower down stairs if it came on went hot very quickly so all wk felt dirty. When we approached the owner all we got was I know about the after pressure but nothing about getting it fixed. Also the photos don't warn you it's right next to the cowshed .
We had a problem with the mains water and it was impossible to get Welsh Water to come to the farm, it has now been fixed. This is a working farm on which we have cattle and sheep, these animals do need sheds for the winter month I would like to state that two blue bath towels are missing, i can only assume that these were taken home in error by the customer. "We had a lovely stay here."
Nice, warm, comfortable cottage. The lady that owns the farm is such a lovely lady. Very helpful and informative. We stayed with 5 dogs, 99 year old grandma and a 10 month old baby. Beautiful views surround the property and with lambs outside our door just made the holiday. The only problem was the water pressure in the cottage wasn't great but I'm sure that will get sorted soon. Would like to thank Gweneth again for having us.
-
"We really enjoyed our stay at Bran Goesgoch, weather was brilliant too which was a bonus, and the local area is outstanding."
Gwyneth is lovely,so friendly and helpful and anything you need she is there to assist. Our only slight negative would be that it would have been nice to have had table and chairs in garden to sit outside but it was early in season so understandably not there yet. Will definitely be back to visit,we are already planning when to come and can’t wait to see the farmhouse when it is back to its former glory. Thank you Gwyneth and team for a fabulous week.
-
"Beautiful scenery, lovely cottage and wonderful host."
Thank you!
-
"The Cottage was well stocked for cooking and eating lots of games for the kids inside and out."
Very clean and the host was really friendly and helpful. she couldn't have been kinder to our children telling the kids about the farm and the animals. The host encouraged the kids to feed the animals and pet the amenable animals. The hot tub was hot on arrival and was a massive bonus to be able to chuck the kids in whilst I unpacked after a long journey. Lovely walks from the cottage and a small beach walkable with older children maybe not pre school. The local town was a very pretty with another great beach and lovely ice cream shop. A great Cottage to go and be away from all the hustle and bustle.
-
"Very warm welcome from the owner, who was always available but never over bearing."
Perfect location, being minutes from the coastal path and South stack but still within 10 minutes drive to supermarkets and a good range of takeaways and eateries.
-
"Great location, and the proprietor was a lovely person."
The accommodation was clean and there was plenty of room within the building, the only downfall was the water supply. The proprietor is aware of this and with having other cottages and a farm to run this is a priority to resolve. There is plenty of room for three vehicles and a small garden area; as a point to walk from the location is not far from South Stack Lighthouse and a pair of Standing Stones.
-
"Owner went out of her way Even dropped some eggs of for our Sunday breakfast Nothing but excellent"
-
"The house was great and gwineth was lovely to speak to and very helpful"
-
"Very nice cottage, hot tub was a bonus, suited our party of six very comfortably."
The staff are very helpful & friendly, we had an issue with the hot tub and Huw sorted it straight away and it was up and running again the same day. The only issue we had was that there was no hot water in the washbasins in either of the bathrooms, the showers were fine albeit that you had to pick your times to have a shower but wasn't a big issue for us. Great place for if you have dogs, enclosed garden and plenty of walks.
-
"Excellent location and host was really accommodating and went the extra mile to ensure we all had a great holiday."
-
"Wonderful cottage on a working farm."
Dog friendly too - we took 4 well behaved dogs with us and had a great time. Lots of local walks and dog friendly beaches plus owner let us use a field for loose running the dogs each morning. Great location for a restful break - Gwyneth the owner is a wonderful host giving lots of information on best beaches, restaurants etc The 4 adults and our 4 dogs had a lovely break - hot tub was a bonus too !
-
"Characterful cottage in the middle of a farmyard full of the wonderful sounds and smells of a working farm."
Beautiful views and well situated to explore the nearby coastal delights. Our host, Mrs Campbell, went out of her way to help us enjoy our holiday with maps and recommendations and our grandchildren were thrilled to assist in feeding the pet lambs and dogs and collecting eggs which they later enjoyed for tea! Fabulous week.
-
"So easy to book and such lovely accommodation."
This is the third time we have stayed here and we will definitely be back! We have 3 dogs, the accommodation is also very set up for dogs and the walks/beaches/forests locally are amazing for walking.
-
"We really enjoyed our stay and the owner was really friendly and looked after us."
It was great to wake up with the cattle and were lucky enough to see the badger that visits most evenings. The location whilst remote is within easy reach of Holyhead town centre and the local shops as well as lots of lovely sandy beaches and coves a short drive away.
-
"The host Gwyneth was lovely very welcoming and unobtrusive the cottage was excellent and perfect for us and the dogs."
The farm is lovely and Hugh the farm man really interesting and friendly to chat to hope to go back in the future.
-
"The cottage is in a very peaceful and relaxing location with just a bit of farm noise to remind you that you are out in the countryside."
Perfectly comfortable for our party of 4 adults and two small dogs. We were not expecting any welcome gifts but were pleasantly surprised to find biscuits and wine left for us, plus eggs kindly supplied during the week. Mrs Campbell, the owner, is very friendly and on hand if you need her, but doesn't interfere. Previous guests have mentioned the inconsistent water pressure which can be a challenge if you are in the shower and the water cuts out, as happened to us on several occasions. It is prudent to have a large jug of water on standby!
-
"Comfortable house, well equipped and tea, coffee, etc."
on arrival. The hot tub was a great success! and the children enjoyed seeing the farm animals. There is a small beach nearby and several walks. Is a good spot for visiting other parts of Anglesey.
-
"Owner was a lovely lady, friendly and very helpful."
We were even given some fresh eggs , delicious. Cottage was lovely and hot tub very relaxing even with the children in it. Water pressure was a bit hit and miss but we managed ok.
-
"Great place if you want to get away from busy town life set on a working farm so always something to see."
Owner very lovely very helpful, informative and nothing was to much trouble And fresh eggs one morning. . Property really nice clean and comfortable. Hot tub went down well with the children. Close to coastal walks beach and south stack lighthouse. Very enjoyable holiday would recommend to everyone who just wants to get away. Donna Kendall
-
"The holiday cottage was lovely and so was the owner, there were a lot of flies but we expected that as it was on a working farm, maybe it would be good to put electric fly zappers in the cottage."
The other thing was the water was pretty much non existent on most days due to the water coming from a bore hole and the cattle must have been really thirsty the week we stopped as we went out to buy bottled water. The owner Gwyneth and Isla however were absolutely brilliant and especially with our granddaughter who loved all the animals and chickens.
-
"Had a great time, staff couldn't do enough for us and really helpful."
Great location if you want to get away from everything and switch off. Will visit again.
-
"Lovely place with amazing hosts!"
-
"Fantastic Holiday, weather good for time of year."
The Farm is in an area of outstanding scenery. The Farm owner and other staff were very friendly and helpful. The only criticism ( by the ladies in the party not the guys) that there should be a screen on the barn side of the hot tub even if only a bamboo or willow panel and yes we understand it is a working farm and a very well run one at that. The well cared for animals would be a great attraction to families with children.
-
"Cottage was lovely, weather was fantastic, scenery was beautiful and our host , ..."
Cottage was lovely, weather was fantastic, scenery was beautiful and our host , Gwyneth surpassed them all, what a lovely , helpful lady ,
-
"The cottage is lovely with great facilities."
As per the description, it is on a working farm so there is the odd smell and machinery about but that doesn't detract from having a lovely holiday. The garden is truly dog proof which makes for a stress-free break. Mrs Campbell is very welcoming and full of information on the surrounding area. Please follow the directions on how to find the cottage as sat nav really doesn't work off the postcode.
-
"Lovely accommodation however both showers pretty unusable also hot tub right ..."
Lovely accommodation however both showers pretty unusable also hot tub right next to cow shed so flies and smell dreadful
Thank you for your feedback. The property is advertised as being situated on a working farm so the farm does have livestock. All animals unfortunately do have a smell that comes from them. Flies at the property have been checked and have confirmed are no flies after your departure. Property Owner

"Great cottage in a great location."
All the mod cons, fresh eggs and a hot tub too boot. Only one niggle would be that the water pressure was really poor effecting showering, but other than that a great stay.
-
"On arriving at the property, Mrs Campbell was very welcoming."
She showed us round the cottage informing us of the best places to visit. She was always around if we needed her. It's a working farm with sheep and herd as our direct neighbours. Little cute lambs too. The hot tub was truly amazing after a day out. Loved it. Relaxing on a farm is truly a great experience. The views were out of this world. Mrs Campbell gave us some freshly laid eggs from her chickens. Lovely and fresh. Anglesey is breathtaking with its gorgeous beaches and hidden ones too. Lovely places to go and eat. My sons went off for a boat ride in Beaumaris which is a lovely seaside town and definitely worth a visit. Crab fishing on the pier. Just remember to take a pack of bacon.
-
"The pictures really don't do this property justice!"
We had a fab time staying here and the lady who owns the property went above and beyond in making our trip even better. If you're looking for a little taste into the farm life of the countryside, then this is perfect as the property has views of the working farm from every window! Thank you for having us!
-
"Really great cottage."
The children loved the farm animals. Only fault was, unclear directions to follow to find the cottage. Any other guests that stay need to look for a sign saying "Bodwarren Cottages " off the main road. Not Bran Goesgoch.
-
"This lovely two storey cottage, is situated right in the centre of a working farm."
The owners are right on hand to help with any questions or problems that might arise. The farm is right off the beaten track near to the south stacks area of the Holy Island. The directions given are okay except for the 0.7 miles from turning right at the end of Porth Darfach road. Its around 1 1/2 miles before you see the farm sign on the peak of one of the sharp left hand bends. The views can only be described as breath taking - more so if the wind is blowing! It is wise to note that the cottage is 'upside down' that is to say the day to day living and the master bedroom and one bathroom are at the top and two bedrooms and a second bathroom are on the ground floor. The hot tub is lovely to relax in after a day out walking the many beaches, cliffs, and country parks that are all either right on the doorstep or a short drive away. Some beaches exclude dogs from March to the end of September, but we found that there is usually an area of the beach set aside where the dogs can let off. A lot of the pubs are dog friendly. All in all its a wonderful place to stay. Our 3 golden retrievers loved it!
-
"There was a barbecue and coals supplied."
No hand soap in bathrooms. Mrs. Campbell is a lovely lady. She made us feel very welcome. She was always on hand to answer any queries and is a font of knowledge when it comes to the local area .We highly recommend the cottage we stayed in .The hot tub was fabulous.
-
"We had a wonderful weeks holiday and owner Gwyneth made us very welcome and was very informative of surrounding areas and places to go cottage was absolutely lovely we could not have asked for more Thank you so much Mrs Allaway and family."
-
"Lovely host."
Very welcoming and helpful. Only issues were around poor mobile and internet signal. Also water pressure was poor due to leak but did not detract from enjoyment of holiday
-
"This cottage is lovely."
Plenty big enough for myself and partner, the two children, one dog and two cats. It is well equipped and the sofa and beds are comfortable. The hot tub is an added bonus. The host here is lovely and entertained our 7 year old letting him help feed the lambs, walk her dogs and collect eggs from her chickens. The farm is in a lovely quiet position well away from the road and the only sounds you hear from it are country sounds. Birds singing, lambs bleating and the cows mooing. There is a badger set at the far end of the field that you look out over. Unfortunately I didn't get to see them. In all we had a lovely quiet relaxing holiday and I would not hesitate to recommend this cottage to anyone.
-
"The owner is a lovely lady and the property is super , the value for money is so ..."
The owner is a lovely lady and the property is super , the value for money is so good and working farm with the lambs is such a lovely place to wake up to, would go back
-
"The owner Gwyneth went above and beyond normal expectations to make us welcome and our holiday special."
She is a treasure! The cottage was compact for six adults plus dogs and a little more storage space would have been welcome. Apart from that it was a thoroughly enjoyable holiday.
-
"Superb accommodation that fulfilled all our needs with children and three dogs."
Beautiful location with great dog walks and fields to run in. Gwyneth, the owner made us extremely welcome and we had an amazing experience being involved on the farm. We were fortunate to arrive at lambing time and have many happy memories of what we saw. Would definitely return and thoroughly recommend this place to stay. Thank for a fantastic holiday,
-
"Bran Goesgoch is quite simply the best place that we have stayed!"
It's always such hard work to find somewhere for our group and our 5 dogs to stay but Gwyneth's place was it. Beautiful, well equipped cottage with enclosed garden and hot tub. Slept like logs, walked for miles and saw plenty of long sandy beaches. We got the chance to see all of the cottages and the new yet to be advertised shepherd's hut-all were outstanding. Cannot recommend enough-we will be back!

With stunning sea and mountain views that can be seen from the farm, these holiday homes are ideal for couples, families and friends with a number of attractions and places to visit within easy reach. Y Wennol and Y Wylan offer single-storey accommodation and both sleep two people, whilst Y Barcud and Bran Goesgoch sleep six each. All properties share a courtyard area to park cars, and four have an enclosed garden with a lawned area, patio and furniture whilst the two huts provide peaceful decked balconies, a perfect setting to enjoy an alfresco dinner at the end of the day. Although these charming retreats are in quiet location, there’s something for everyone nearby, including a visit to the town of Holyhead which has remains of Roman town walls and forts, a colourful marina, maritime museum, shops and pubs. Holyhead is also a main ferry point for Ireland, so a day trip to Dublin may be on the cards! Also close by is the Breakwater Country Park, a former quarry, from where you may be able to spot seals who visit the Holyhead coast. Just over three miles away is the resort of Trearddur Bay, with its sandy beaches and watersports. Other places of interest are cliff top walks over Holyhead Mountain, and South Stack Lighthouse RSPB Reserve is well worth a visit. All this and much, much more can enjoyed from these welcoming holiday homes.
About the location
HOLYHEAD
Trearddur Bay 3 miles.
The bustling town of Holyhead rests on the North West coast of the Isle of Anglesey, the largest town on the island and perhaps known best for being the main ferry port to Ireland. Steeped in history, the town boasts the remains of Roman town walls and forts, medieval burial chambers and stone village foundations. Explore the Breakwater Country Park, a former quarry, which offers designated walks through the grounds. The park is full of interesting wildlife, most notably the seals who visit the Holyhead coast, and outlines the amazing construction of the world's longest breakwater, some 1.8 miles, which today protects the harbour. Visit the colourful marina with its yachts and tall ships, or the town's maritime museum, with its tales of 100 shipwrecks in the vicinity. Day trips to Ireland can be enjoyed easily from here, with Dublin just 90 minutes away on the fast ferry. With spectacular cliff top walks over Holyhead Mountain, golden sandy beaches at the award winning Trearddur Bay and the Snowdonia National Park just a 20 minute drive away, this is a superb holiday location, at any time of the year.
