  • "Generally our stay was very good and the cottage was very comfortable."

This is the third time we have stayed at this development and the second time in this cottage. There were a number of relatively minor snags with the cottage which we listed and left the note on the dining room table for the caretaker. In particular the tiles in the upstairs bathroom catch on the door. I think I mentioned this 2 years ago and notice that others had raised it. I think it would be best to remove the tiles and replace them with laminate flooring. It was disappointing to see that this was still not repaired two years after our first visit.

  • "We have stayed at the cottages a few times, 1st time in this cottage which was nice but in need of new chairs in the dining area."

We hired 4 cottages altogether with other family members as we have done before and used the communal area to eat however this was not available to use! My children and my family were using the grass area at the front and were unpleasantly greeted by a male owner on several occasions. He was quite aggressive and we were told we were no longer able to play with a ball outside the cottage, This will make me think twice about rebooking.

As a repeat customer, there are some niggles that annoy me every year…. The internet here is very poor, not suitable for home working or teenagers! The kitchen is minimally furnished. It could do with some extras….this year I had to buy bought a roasting tin, a cake tin, a sharp knife, hand held blender, kitchen scales, scissors and a water jug to just get by! It’s most definitely not the kitchen for soneone who loves cooking on holiday. Nowhere to hang coats.

  • "Property was lovely and an ideal location."

We did have a problem with ants & water leaking from the upstairs shower. This was reported straight away and dealt with efficiently. In fact the manager/ owner came and moved us to another cottage. The manager/owner even popped back a couple of days later in the evening and gave us a bottle of champagne as a sorry for the birthday cake being ruined.

Very central for all amenities and to the lovely beach at Treauddur Bay. My only thoughts are that it states in Sykes information that a large number of the cottages dogs are not allowed which was why I choose a particular cottage because my husband has an allergy to dog hair. It also clearly states which cottages allow dogs. I choose one of the cottages that stated ‘no dogs’. However in one of the cottages that is classed as ‘no dogs’’ the occupants had their dog with them which I wasn’t happy to see. When you have someone with allergies then you need to be able to rely on that facts printed! When I contacted Sykes I was told that the cottage we were in was no dogs however I can’t rely on that in the future because so was the cottage that had the dog in

Also where has the nice cutlery gone? The set in the drawer is cheap and nasty. Glad to see that the ‘Strawberry cups’ survive - it’s worth coming just to drink tea out of them…love them! Thanks for another great holiday!

But, I find it hard to believe that you're expected to bring your own hand soap. We're nearing the end of a pandemic and you'd think it'd be a basic necessity in any holiday home to ensure your guests are washing their hands. It's just another item to add to your shopping list whilst you are away.

Very quiet location within walking distance to the beach. Comfortable home away from home. Only slight criticism would be the mattress in the smaller double bedroom perfect for one but if 2 in you roll together. However my parents and daughter said other beds were comfortable.

  • "Beautiful cottage which is an ideal base."

The cottage was clean, modern and comfortable and contained every thing you could need whilst staying there. The beds were very comfortable as was the lounge. There was always plenty of hot water and there was a hairdryer in the master bedroom. A nice touch was the welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk, Welsh cakes and Prosecco.

  • "Hi, We have stayed at Tyn Towyn cottages on a number of occasions, approximately 10 times."

We were very disappointed this year as the cleanliness of the cottage was way below par and particularly as due to COVID 19 the cottages should have been completely deep cleaned. I had to move the sofa to get into the downstairs cupboard where we usually hang our coats to find a lot of dust/crumbs and an old knitting needle underneath. Clearly the furniture had not been moved in a while. There was food debris under the cushions too. A couple of the dining chairs were unstable. The shower upstairs wasn't draining very well and there was dirty cutlery in the drawers. All in all we were really disappointed. Especially as we had our holiday cut short by 2 hours as the extra 2 hours was apparently needed for extra cleaning due to COVID.

The cutlery drawer needed a clean, there were food particles still in the fridge, lots of cobwebs on the stairs...…. It was ok as I had brought my own mop (!) and I just put everything back in the dishwasher. After that the place felt fine - just the initial walk in was not great. We had a lovely week. Thank you
