5 Customer Reviews

  • "Grenforsa is an outstanding house, very central for exploring Mull."

The house has space, heat, many books, particularly history and if you play chess, boards and men. The front garden includes a substantial river, water falls and beach. There is much to do close by.

  • "Absolutely magical place to stay, everything you could possibly need in the kitchen and stunning surroundings."

River at the bottom of the garden and a pebbly beach nearby, in easy reach of everything in Mull. House very comfortable, loved all the personal touches and pictures. Very much want to return here.

  • "Amazing place, set in the Scottish highlands, everything you could possibly be provided in the kitchen."

Loads of space, i was working remotely and the chairs were very comfortable, Internet a little sporadic, but manageable. 100% Cotton sheets, confirm this is a place we would definitely come back too.

Situated on the picturesque coastline of the Isle of Mull, Scotland, Glenforsa House instantly catches your eye with its spectacular V shaped single-storey architecture, surrounded by a lush garden and trees.

With so much to do in the local area, Glenforsa House makes the perfect base for any family or group of adults looking to explore the island.

Enter into a world of opulence when you find your way into the open-plan living area of this property, where large windows, including some on the corner of the build, draw in the light from outside, making the space airy and emphasizing the contemporary white and cream décor that makes for a clean look, you will be delighted to find a fully furnished kitchen, with everything you will need to cook up a storm to impress your family, serving your heart warming meal on the wooden dining table, with views to the outside, or why not enjoy a morning coffee at the bar area as you plan your day?

With no shortage of light and views, the kitchen leads down into a sitting area, where the stunning landscape of rolling hills and waterscapes is optimized by the corner windows running along two of the walls, framing the sitting area where there are several homely chairs offering a place to recline as you warm yourself by the fire, taking in the calm atmosphere of this airy and open space.

After a long day of exploring the countryside a wonderful super-king-size room offers a place to get cosy, with a selection of books, wooden furniture, and of course magnificent views, and if you need to warm up after spending your day in the highland chill, why not have a soak in the bath or walk in shower provided by the en-suite?

A king-size with two large windows looks out across the landscape, boasting a glimpse into the wilderness and wildlife, and also sporting an en-suite, and finally there is the option of a twin room, also with an en-suite, with homely décor and perfect for children.

Outside, a marvellous sitting area offers the perfect spot for a morning coffee, or an evening watching the sun set whilst you and the family recline after a long day of exploring, where a large grass area creates the perfect spot for games, or the option of relaxing in the summer house which overlooks a calming waterscape, creating a peaceful spot where you can take in the uninterrupted landscape in full. The local area has no shortage of activities for you and the family to enjoy, including a variety of walks, for example a trail beginning at Ben More, leading to Mull's only Munro, which offers breath-taking views from the summit, cycle tracks and local sandy beaches, ideal for watersports for example the sandy beach of Calgary Bay.

An easy journey from the property you will find the picturesque and well-known town of Tobermory, where you can indulge in the beautiful water and buildings with a stroll along the harbour, and after a day at the beach, have a hot meal and a drink at one of the local pubs, restaurants or cafes that serve seafood fresh from the surrounding ocean.

There is also a chocolate factory and whisky distillery, where tours and tasters are available.

If it is history that piques your interest, there are many historical sites just waiting to be explored, including Pennygown Chapel, Salens Ships and Tobermory lighthouse as well as a wide variety of museums including MacQuarie’s Mausoleum, Ross and Mull Historical Centre and The Old Byre Heritage Centre.
