Description

Altafearn is a charming house nestled in Kames, Argyll and Bute, enjoying stunning rural and sea views, ample off-road parking, an enclosed garden, and a fantastic games room. Sleeping eight guests across four bedrooms, this welcoming Scottish retreat is ideal for families or groups of friends looking to spend quality time together while discovering the spectacular landscapes of Argyll and Bute. Step inside and discover a collection of inviting spaces designed for sociable holidays. The kitchen/diner forms the heart of the home, providing everything needed for preparing leisurely breakfasts before a day exploring the coastline or gathering everyone together for evening meals. Afterwards, settle into the sitting room and enjoy a favourite film on the Smart TV, retreat to the snug with a book, or make the most of the conservatory, where the surrounding scenery provides a wonderful backdrop throughout the day. Guests looking for a little friendly competition will appreciate the games room, complete with a pool table, table tennis table, and chessboard. Outside, the enclosed garden invites long afternoons spent soaking up the views across the surrounding countryside and out towards the water, with both patio and decking areas offering ideal spots for dining and conversation. When evening arrives, choose from four thoughtfully arranged bedrooms. A ground-floor king-size room offers added flexibility, while upstairs there are two further king-size bedrooms, including one boasting an en-suite with a freestanding bath and walk-in shower. A double bedroom benefits from its own en-suite shower room, while a ground-floor shower room and an additional shower room help ensure convenience for larger groups. The village of Kames provides a scenic base from which to explore this beautiful corner of Scotland. Nearby Tighnabruaich is known for its attractive waterfront setting and sweeping views across the Kyles of Bute. Venture to Portavadie to admire its marina and coastal scenery, or spend the day in Tarbert, where the picturesque harbour and historic castle ruins offer plenty to discover. The wider Cowal Peninsula presents memorable opportunities to enjoy sea views, shoreline walks, and the ever-changing landscapes of Scotland's west coast. Whatever adventures fill your days, Altafearn provides a wonderful setting to gather, explore, and make lasting holiday memories.

What guests are saying

Beautiful property in a lovely setting, ideal for quality family time.

There's a ground floor bedroom with a shower room and toilet right next door, which is a great bonus for anyone who can't manage stairs. My 14-year-old loved the games room and went fishing every day during our stay. However, if your children aren't keen on the outdoors, there isn't a lot else nearby to do. It was a shame that the log burners aren't available for guest use.
