  • "The property was clean and with plenty of storage including the kitchen."

However the main night storage heater was not working and also one the in the twin bedroom resulting in a cold stay for us as it was sleeting and below zero temperatures overnight. We did contact the owner Larry who sent out an electrician to look at the storage heater in the twin bedroom but could not mend it. Larry did advise us that a new storage heater had been ordered and expected on Tuesday 18th November but never turn up. We were not offered another heater. The bathroom door handle is faulty resulting difficult to open when closed. Water flow in the shower was very poor. The porch was also leaking through the roof. The washing machine/dryer was only working as a washing machine. We paid good money for heating and a washer dryer in view of the time of year we stayed and feel let down.

thanks for you review and sorry to see you were disappointed with your stay .Apple tree bungalow has been really busy and unfortunately due to a electrical fault both night store heaters broke at the same time just after you arrived ,they were both working fine all year . as you said I managed to get a electrician out the next day he could not fix and we ordered 2 new heaters straight away which arrived the day after your short stay . they are now obviously fitted and working fine . In this day and age unfortunately parts dont arrive straight away ,I tried my best there was 2 electric heaters in the bungalow that you must have used that worked fine also a spare heater in garage you could of used if you only asked me . your husband called me and said no problem these things happen and seemed really reasonable .The door handle in bathroom is now replaced also yes the water flow was lowish but that was todo with the mains pressure low for some reason . fortunately we have really good reviews and sometimes you can't please everyone . regards larry kessell Apple tree bungalow Property Owner

  • "The bungalow was lovely, well equipped for our needs, the entrance to the driveway is quite narrow, but then again the cars nowadays are so much larger."

Lanner was a great base to explore the surrounding areas.

  • "Lovely clean bungalow."

Sofas not very comfy. Fire in living room not the same as the photos and has a free standing electric fire, if you were to take a toddler, this could be a hazard. Toilet seat loose and didn't fit properly. Overall a nice place to stay, they provided tea/coffee, had spices and dried herbs to use. Washer/drier very useful and dish washer too. Beds very comfortable. The drive isn't as big as you think fitting 3 cars, they would need to be small. I gave a caddy maxi van and couldn't turn it around. When we turned the TV on there was lines which shouldn't be there, so messaged the owner, who came same evening to look at it. Clearly something wrong with it, but was no obvious damage to it. Hopefully this will be sorted before the next boooking. Owners very responsive to messages. Would recommend due to location as well.

Thanks for feedback the electric fire is a updated and fully compliant British standard unit which is stable and safe ,I actually think the sofas are comfy the tv did have some lines in the screen that we wasn’t aware of and is now replaced with new LG tv .we have had 3 cars and a van in the drive before comfortably the toilet seat was fine but must of worked loose and is now tightened Property Owner

  • "Lovely bungalow in a central location."

Property was spotlessly clean on arrival with a good level of equipment. Good size enclosed garden but there was a lot of weeds which our golden retriever was trying to eat. Having said that, no extra charge for our dog to stay was a refreshing change to other properties we have stayed at. Thankfully our dog is well behaved! We would consider staying again in future as we are looking to relocate to Cornwall. Thank you.

Hi Thanks for good feed back we only had the gardener in just before you came unfortunately with the weather rain then sun the weeds do take off but we are constantly trying our best to keep the garden looking nice glad you had a nice stay Regards Property Owner

The bungalow was very clean and well equipped our only problem was the driveway entrance was very narrow and the road being very busy with cars parking directly opposite it was on occasions difficult to get in

Hi Thanks for feed back There is a bit of a nack as to how to drive in especially if you have a large vehicle We usually come from down the hill then it’s relatively easy Regards Property Owner

  • "Beautifully clean and well presented bungalow."

Only drawback was overheating at night as the road noise prevented us opening the windows.

Hi Thanks for your review sorry to hear that you were a bit hot at night time. Previous customers have generally opened the windows as the village is very quiet at night time or you could of even left the bedroom door open and open one of the rear bungalow windows for a bit of free air Property Owner

Perfect for us to stay in for 3 nights whilst visiting family. It is situated on a busy road but that was no problem as you didn't really notice it. Tesco just a mile and a half away. Situated perfectly to visit the various attractions and beaches. Will hopefully stay again.

  • "We had a lovely (wet) week in Lanner."

The property was ideal as visiting family living in the area. The bungalow is on a very busy road but we didn't notice the traffic noise. We appreciated the cleanliness of the property and kitchen facilities ( ate in on three evenings). Fish and chip shop down the road excellent. Also plenty of walking trails from the bungalow. Walked to the quarry and on to the Star Inn for well needed refreshment - dog friendly. Also took the dog along to the Fox and Hounds for our evening meal. Would book this property again when visiting the area. Thank the owners for the milk and biscuits provided. Much appreciated after a 10 hour drive.

Thankyou for your positive feedback. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. Larry and Sam x Property Owner

  • "No night storage heater in main bedroom, convector heater instead."

Otherwise a nice clean and well equipped bungalow. With everything you could need. Very central to South West Cornwall and it's amenities. A very safe garden for dogs to play and a drive big enough to be able to turn you car around. All in all a nice place to stay if you are visiting Cornwall. (Small point: would suggest that the Coppice Inn be removed from list of places to eat as a resident of Cornwall for 30 years the standard of catering there has gone from good to dismal)

Thanks for feed back . Over the summer months heating is generally never needed and the night store heaters are turned off at the wall switch’s There is more local pubs and eating places to choose from . Property Owner

LANNER

Redruth 2 miles; Falmouth 9 miles; Portreath 7 miles.

Just outside Redruth on the road towards Falmouth, Lanner was once part of Cornwall’s mining epicentre. Today, the village is welcoming and friendly, with a number of convenience stores, a bakery, a village hall and several good pubs. Carn Marth overlooks Lanner village from its hilltop location; a former granite quarry, this is now a lovely place for a walk or cycle. Nearby Carn Brea is worth a visit too; here you will find a Medieval castle (now a restaurant), which once belonged to Lord Bassett, the most influential mine owner in the area during the 18th and 19th centuries. The beaches at Portreath and Porthtowan are just a short drive from Lanner, and there are several off-road cycle trails in the area, including the Coast to Coast Trail which follows the original tramway from Portreath on the north coast to Devoran on the south.

This property offers the following short breaks:
