"Lovely cottage with everything you need and nice welcome pack of goodies."
Great location for walks/beaches. I did notice that the Ivy growing on the wall outside the front of the house has started to work its way through the brickwork into the lounge under the windowsill. Front door lock can stick when trying to unlock from the inside. Otherwise perfect stay thank you.

"The cottage was comfortable and clean."
There was everything we needed, but we have stayed in more well appointed cottages for less money than we paid here. Overall good cottage in an exceptional village, with good access to the wonders of Cornwall.

"Lovely cottage and garden beautiful location well equiped ."
Lots of thoughtful extras

"Great little cottage, a bit smaller then we expected."
I booked the cottage for my son and family, not good for tall people, my son is 6ft 4in and had to constantly duck through doorways and had to be carefull going up and down stairs because of low ceiling. Having said that the cottage was very clean, well equipped and well maintained. Parking a bit of a problem as it's first come first served on a small road, and you're lucky if you get a space. Would recommend this lovely listed cottage, a great time was had by all, shame about the weather.
-
"There was damp in the porch way."
Parking was an issue at times, there is only a few spaces outside and they soon filled up meaning we had to park some distance away, not ideal when you have shopping etc to unload

"Lovely cosy cottage, very clean and nicely furnished."
Perfect location, 2 mins walk from very pretty harbour. Lots of great places to eat, we ate in the Rashleigh Arms, The Longstore, The Boathouse and Short & Strong and all were excellent. Easy access to coast path by the harbour. We walked to Porthpean beach and back at the start of every day, it only takes around 20 to 30 mins each way and views are lovely. Didn't manage to park outside cottage every day but parked on main road a short walk away. Will definitely stay again.

"Any other fabulous stay at Honeysuckle Cottage."
Will hopefully be booking for next year too, as long as our dog sitter still lives at home

"A delightful cottage four minutes walk norrh of the harbour."
Instantly felt at home. Clean, bright and comfortable. Spacious main bedroom and small second bedroom (could do with a second bedside light). The bathroom is on the ground floor. Dining table is a drop leaf and dining chairs are folding chairs. Better suited to two than four as the sitting room is not huge. There's a sea view in the distance mainly from the bedroom windows. Small garden across the little path is also delightful. A few maintenance issues would improve the overall impression of the cottage - many of these have been mentioned more than once: Bathroom is in need of additional towel drying rail (please!) and a screw replacing in the towel holder by sink. Sitting room window needs to be made to open - it's well and truly stuck. Curtain rail in small bedroom needs fixing. Back door lock needs adjusting. But, a lovely and peaceful place to stay.

"Lovely cottage and great location."
Some things requiring fixing - washing line does not work and no tumble dryer which would be useful for a family of 4 staying a week, also blind in bathroom grotty.
Thank you. The washing line has been swapped and the washing machine changed to a washer-dryer. The grubby blind will be replaced shortly. Property Owner

"This was a beautiful cottage and its location is fantastic."
It was clean and tidy and we had a great time. One or two points that were not good and should be sorted to justify price. The keylock number was incorrect. Stiff door locks from the inside making access occasionally difficult. Stiff kitchen window- had to go outside to close it. Bathroom blinds shabby, no where to sufficiently dry or hang towels etc. Stingy amount of mugs glasses etc. Oh...did I mention the parking! We expected it as it was in other reviews too, but as we arrived in regatta week this was somewhat a pain at times. Apart from the parking, these are small easy rectifiable issues that once sorted would make the perfect holiday stay. Thank you.
Thank you. The locks are beings attended too and the bathroom blind will shortly be replaced. Property Owner

"The most beautiful setting and proximity to the harbour."
The cottage was sparkling clean with everything you could need. The milk in the fridge and the complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits was lovely after a long journey and the wine was very thoughtful and enjoyed in the garden in the sunshine. The only tiny issue was the struggle with the tin opener, so a new one would be appreciated. Overall a lovely cosy cottage with great facilities and excellent value for money.

"We loved our stay at Honeysuckle cottage,it was spotless,so comfortable and cozy."
Beautiful area like stepping back in time but with modern comforts.Would love to be back to stay again sometime soon. Mr and Mrs Barnby.

"Die Heizung funktionierte nicht besonders gut."
Das Wasser in der Dusche war entweder heiß oder kalt, warm gab es nicht.

"This cosy cottage was nicely presented and comfortable and well suited for a couple for a short or longer stay."
-
"Great place to stay, beds were comfortable, wifi throughout the house, clean and warm."
We stayed with 2 children, plenty of room. Kitchen had everything we needed. and Bathroom was great. Location is fantastic to get all over Cornwall, and Eden project. Highly recommend, thanks very much

"Lovely little cottage, with good facilities and a great location."
Garden was really nice on the day that it was sunny. Parking was available outside 50% of the time, otherwise it was a five minute walk. Couple of updates needed. The WiFi was very good downstairs but not all around the cottage, not unusual in old properties. The code in the welcome instructions was incorrect, we located the correct on on the back of the router. You should consider updating it. The rubbish collection day was also incorrect but this may be down to the time of year. The front door was quite sticky when opening at times, so could need looking at. The tap in the kitchen was dripping and quite annoying, you should get it fixed before it becomes worse. The beds could do with updating as they were not really that comfortable.

"Lovely cottage, great facilities, great location."
Welcome pack was a nice touch. Already looking to book for next year.

"We loved Honeysuckle cottage for retaining a true quaint old cottage feel."
It is perfectly situated in the heart of Charlestown. The peaceful little garden with beautiful views of the surrounding hills and the sea was such a bonus. The beds were comfy and the kitchen, and the cottage generally, very well equipped. It was very quiet, clean, warm and the welcome pack including a vase of fresh flowers was a really lovely touch as we don't seem to get that in rented cottages very much anymore. You can see the sea, particularly from the main bedroom and we would definitely return. There were a few points that should be mentioned, although they shouldn't discourage anyone from booking this lovely little cottage. The bathroom needs some sort of net curtain across the window for privacy without having to always have the blind closed. Obscure glass or even that film that can be applied to glass to make it obscure would be the best solution. I blu-tacked kitchen roll over the lower panes for privacy while we were there. Also a small unit to put toiletries on would be useful. The description should mention the stairs are steep and uneven as they are old and this was tricky for me as I have mobility issues. A couple of extra handles at the top would help. Parking is first come basis outside and sometimes it was tricky to get a space outside the cottage sometimes but there is more parking further along the road. All in all we loved the cottage and Charlestown and would highly recommend both.

"What a lovely little cottage!"
We had a fantastic time in Charlestown and especially loved swimming in the sea and sitting in the little garden. The bedrooms are cosy and tasteful and so is the living-room with its well-chosen yellow and grey patterns :) You really have thought of every little detail in the kitchen, etc. for a perfect holiday. The only thing we would improve is being able to air the living room, as the window did not open (possibly due to safety reasons?). Thanks a lot and greetings from Bensheim in Germany!

"Honeysuckle Cottage is set in a beautiful and convenient setting in Charlestown."
We had an amazing holiday and wouldn't hesitate to book again.
-
"This is a lovely cottage, ideally situated, well equipped & you feel at home there very quickly, would highly recommend it"
-
"Kitchen cooker and kettle both need updating."
Bathroom window on ground floor needs frosted glass so passers by cannot look in. Garden needs tidying and plants growing over front door entrance and over front window need trimming. Outside of windows need attention. A charming cottage which needs some T.L.C.
Thank you for your valuable feedback. We are so sorry that the garden was untidy during your stay. We can confirm that the garden is now tidy and the cooker has been replaced. A new window with frosted glass is also being installed. We do hope to see you again. Thank you once again for your comments. Property Owner

"Great location and lovely garden."
First house we have stayed in Cornwall where no Cornish cream tea was provided. T V, Cooker and fridge very dated.
-
"Lovely cottage a stone's throw from the harbour."
Warm and cosy, always hot water, had everything we needed. No problems parking but we stayed out of season but always parking further up Charlestown road. Thank you to the owners for letting us extend our stay.
-
"Lovely little cottage with everything you need, stayed whilst waiting to move into a house I'm buying locally."
Heating works well, water is hot, cottage well equipped. Beds lovely and comfy with good quality linen. Was able to park outside most of the time, but it's out of season. Always plenty of parking on the main road though. Extended my stay for two weeks as location etc suited!
-
"I booked Honeysuckle for my daughter & son-in-law whilst I stayed in the Pier House."
Their initial impression was marred by the total lack of a legal parking spot to simply unload their luggage : the minimal road parking being fully occupied [it remained so for the entire period of the stay] However, once inside, apart from the meagre welcome offering [a small container of milk !] it was all change. It was cosy, warm and comfortable with sufficient fixtures and fittings and 2 great easy chairs. The downstairs toilet and bathroom was a bit of an unpleasant surprise but they coped with it. They found the bed comfortable and the [double] room pleasantly sized. The cottage is well situated to access all that Charlestown has to offer. Would they stay there again - yes, providing they would be able to use the Pier House car park, available on this occasion due to my stay there. The owner really needs to come to some arrangement locally to cover this vital requirement. On the road parking is a myth and it is unacceptable to expect occupants to pay the daily exhorbitant price to park on the council car park.
-
"Holiday and location superb, and we would have given it five stars with a couple of improvements."
The entrance porch had a mold problem which no doubt would be improved with better ventilation (extractor fans in bathroom and kitchen?). The bed linen was clean and fresh but would be enhanced with a mattress protector and fitted bottom sheet. Otherwise an enjoyable stay in a pretty cottage.

"The cottage was lovely everything was clean and fresh situated a few minutes ..."
The cottage was lovely everything was clean and fresh situated a few minutes from the beach just our ideal holiday,a sun lounger would of been nice

"We really enjoyed our stay at Honeysuckle Cottage."
Location was excellent, walking distance from harbour and yet offering a peaceful garden to escape. Cottage was clean and well equipped. Photos and representation on the website was accurate. I would book it again if we returned to Charlestown.
-
"We arrived early as we weren't sure how long the journey would take us and, due to the weather, waited in the car outside the property."
We rang the caretaker to see if there was any chance of getting in slightly early but there was no reply and no call back. As it turned out, the cleaners hadn't even been as they arrived at just after 2.30 and left at 3.30. The property was clean and tidy but we were disappointed not to be able to get in at 3 o'clock.....the time specified on the website, also the photos attached to this property were misleading as they made it look like the property overlooked the harbour, which it didn't.
-
"We had a lovely stay in the cottage, it was a lovely setting for a holiday."
It was a bit of a shock that it was a downstairs bathroom as this was not stated on the listing, with the stairs being so steep this did cause a small issue with night time toilet use for our toddler but we managed. Also the bed in the master bedroom is smaller than a double despite being a large room. Aside from those two small things we had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend. Thank you
-
"The cottage is comfortable and the location is excellent."
Guests should be aware that the bathroom is on the ground floor and bedrooms are on the first floor. The kitchen was well equipped compared to some properties that we have had in the past. We found the bed comfortable, but would have preferred a king size. Again it would be useful if size of a double bed is specified in the property details. Parking can be a problem as there are only a few spaces outside on the road and these are often full. Several times my husband sat in the car and parked on the double yellow lines further up the road until a space became available.
-
"Property is lovely and extremely well located."
3 things could be improved. 1. The address given in the information is very difficult to find and the picture is actually the back of the house. On street parking is not actually in Charlestown road. This could be made clearer. 2. On street parking is very limited and with the property being so close to Charles Town if you go out in the car your very unlikely to get parked outside the house when you return. 3. The beds are extremely uncomfortable.
-
"What a lovely cottage."
the location is perfect, 3 minute's walk from the harbour and close to shops and restaurants. It also has a lovely garden accessible across a pathway, which isn't really mentioned in the listing. The owner was lovely and super helpful when we had a small issue.
-
"The cottage was clean comfortable and nicely decorated although a bit bland ."
Was let down by no welcome pack ( my daughter in Cobblers cottage had scones cream jam bottle of prossceco and wipes ) we had a small milk and a half toilet roll Sykes let us down by ignoring the fact that the electric was turned off for part of one day and offered nothing in recompense a bottle of wine would have been nice !!!! so wont book through them again The owner did give us 35 pound which was appreciated
-
"I would highly recommend this lovely quaint little cottage."
It is the perfect place for a relaxing, peaceful holiday,& would definitely choose it again.
-
"Ideal location for visiting surrounding areas."
The cottage was clean and comfortable. The only negative was the limited parking. Although possible in the narrow road outside the cottage, spaces were taken most days, presumably by workers or visitors so returning after a day out was often a problem. Duporth road is also a bus route and has double yellow lines. The car park at the other side of the cottage belongs to a business and no other parking is allowed.
-
"The Cottage was spotless throughout and well equipped."
Charlestown a charming place with plenty of places to eat out. The parking could be tricky but we managed to get parked pretty close to cottage. Directions for parking perhaps needs to be made a little clearer, making clear that the front or rear of property is on Charlestown Road and Duporth Road and could technically be either 55 Charlestown Road or Duporth Road. But my family and I loved our stay and would definitely come back!
-
"Lovely cottage."
Parking not an issue for us... We managed to get a space outside everytime except once because the carnival was on which is understandable. Very clean facilities. Very central location. Charlestown is beautiful with lots of lovely restaurants and lovekjy atmosphere when the weather is nice.

"Charlestown is a lovely little place and the cottage was in a good position to walk to the harbour."
The cottage itself was very disappointing. We have been to many Sykes cottages over the years and this is not up to the standard we have come to expect. It was advertised as having roadside parking but we could never get a space and had to pay for parking in the expensive car park. The cottage itself feels neglected and was not what we were expecting from how it looked in the photos. There was a bit of a damp smell. There was no welcome pack telling us about the cottage or the area. The toilet didn’t flush properly on the first night though was ok for the rest of the week. We did receive contact from Sykes about this, following our first night review, which was excellent service and also a phone call from the cottage’s cleaner. The bathroom light switch stopped working towards the end of our holiday. When we phoned the number for the owners about the parking situation the lady couldn’t understand why her number was there as she is not involved in the cottage! We did enjoy sitting in the small garden and the WiFi was excellent. The cottage did not spoil our holiday as Cornwall is lovely but we will not be returning to this one.

"This was the only property that was available in Charlestown at short notice, although from the advertised pictures we were expecting it to be dated it was more disappointing than expected it was like visiting your grandma's cottage in the 1970's."
Weeds in the entrance area to the house it smelt strongly of damp, the plastic shower mat was filthy as was the gaps to the sides of the cooker where debris had lodge every baking tin I took out was greasy with food on them I therefore didn't cook anything other than toast. No noticeable welcome pack other than a small milk even though it advertises on road parking we could never get parking so spent a fortune paying for the council car park. All the other cottages appeared to have been renovated this one felt neglected and unloved. Having been to Charlestown yearly over the last ten years I have stayed in some lovely holiday let's here, who also provided you with a parking permit. in this day and age people expect a good standard of accommodation you are not going to get that here. Positves ares that it is close to the harbour with a sea view.

"An amazingly atmospheric cottage in an historic tranquil location."
Honeysuckle cottage takes you back to a less frenetic time. The bustle of beautiful Charlestown is literally a stones throw away with restaurants and pubs in abundance. Go for it!!!!
-
"Lovely cottage great location and loved opening the back door and having gorgeous views ."
The harbour as 2 minutes away and with loads of places to eat .
