We’ll certainly look into adding a hook to the back door to make it easier to keep open, and we’ll check the saucepans too. The pans were checked at the beginning of the season and were purchased less than two years ago, but we’ll certainly take another look to check the condition. Thank you also for taking the time to share your suggestions. We've often wondered whether a 4-slice toaster would get enough use, so it's certainly something we'll consider. A fridge with a water dispenser is a great suggestion. Unfortunately, it would need to be sanitised between every guest stay and require regular specialist cleaning, so we've decided it's not the most practical option for a holiday rental. We do know the cold tap can run warm during hot weather – we believe the pipework was originally installed in the same void as the hot water and heating pipes, which doesn't help! We completely agree that the balcony is an area we'd love to improve in the future. We'd like to make it larger and update the furniture, it's a more substantial project that will take a bit of planning. Regarding the wooden spoons, we've found they inevitably end up in the dishwasher despite care instructions. As wood isn't ideal for the intensive cleaning required between guest stays, we've had to choose utensils that are better suited to frequent commercial cleaning. As the property is fully managed by Sykes, we can only apologise that the problem wasn’t resolved during your visit. Contact details are provided at the property for guests to reach us directly if any issues aren’t satisfactorily addressed. We were only made aware of the door handle problem by our housekeeper after your departure and have since arranged for it to be fixed. The dining table is extendable, though we understand this may not have been obvious, so we’ve now added information to let guests know that it can be extended as needed.

Thank you for the feedback. We could have easily sorted this for you if you'd contacted John Bray. The table is an extending table and usually left fully extended, with 8 chairs provided. We can only assume previous guests have made it smaller. Sorry this had such an impact on your enjoyment.

Really good to hear you had a lovely stay in our property, we agree it's in a great spot! And the warm weather this year has been a bonus. We did have a juicer so will check the inventory at the end of the season. Unfortunately, Nespresso Vertuo pods have to be compatible, but there are a couple of cafetières so hopefully not a major issue. John Bray do provide assistance for baby & toddler equipment so please ask them in future & I'm sure they will be very helpful - this gives assurance for guests that the equipment is safe and properly maintained throughout the season too. We try to be proactive with maintenance and our housekeeper had alerted us to a potential issue so we had it checked; so hope it didn't inconvenience you.

We're sorry you had trouble finding the appliance instructions, but glad you were able to figure it out! The instructions are in the kitchen and utility room, but since you were unable to locate the grill pan, it's possible that past guests moved them. We don't provide coffee pods - we do encourage guests to bring their own in the "welcome email" sent out prior to their visit. We're really pleased that you liked the property and thought it was a good value; we want to offer a well-equipped property at a reasonable cost, so we're thrilled when guests take good care of it. We appreciate the wonderful review. PS - Pizza trays will be added to the list of things to add, thanks for the suggestion!

Thank you for reviewing our property, you were very blessed with the weather! The locking mechanisms were updated to allow easy escape without a key during a fire (Fire Regs). We will discuss this at our next fire safety review. The heating is on 24hrs but is lower overnight at 17/18 degrees, we would be more than happy to help with this in future. It's great to hear you really enjoyed the house and would definitely book again.
