  • "Really great property, well equipped to a high standard."

  • "Process for arrival straight forward and instructions clear."

Lovely welcome pack thank you. Beds comfy. Took a while to work out the heating boost as the switch in the cupboard by the boiler doesn’t exist so instructions maybe need to be updated. Found the controls downstairs so all good. Kitchen well supplied. Cleanliness: only one thing - our dog was fussing at something under the sofa on arrival . We found a couple of dirty tissues under the back of the sofa. The black slate in the kitchen is lovely but the steps into downstairs shower room are not readily visible and could be misjudged. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

thanks for your feedback and glad you had a good break - the heating and hot water is controlled via Google Nest. Instructions are in the Welcome file, it does take a minute to work it through if you have not used it before but should be straightforward. Property Owner

  • "This charming property was absolutely perfect for our party of two adults and three adult children (youngest 17)."

There was ample space to chill after a day at the nearby beach and we all loved the layout of the house and the outside space. The comfort and quality of the fittings and furnishings were both excellent. There was a good choice of TV options, books, games and sports equipment too. We enjoyed and very much appreciated the food and drink provided after a mammoth drive from Lincolnshire via London too! The property is of course perfectly situated for the ‘best bits’

Thanks so much for your lovely feedback Property Owner

  • "A small number of minor maintenance issues and improvements, eg the toilet seat in the downstairs toilet is hanging loose, there were a few lights that didn't work and there should be some sort of hand and safety rail on the steps in the kitchen going down to the toilet / shower."

The main issue with the property is the pervading smell of damp - mainly in the room at the bottom of the stairs, where it is very strong, but also in the lounge / dining room. I'm not sure what the remedy would be, but this issue would certainly prevent me from revisiting the property, which is a great shame as otherwise it is fantastic.

Thanks for your feedback Hopefully the issues of lights and the loo seat can be easily fixed - we would encourage you to let the management team know as soon as issues arise We have noted the comments about the need for a handrail. We will look into the damp issue if it persists but has only sporadically been reported previously and may vary with weather conditions etc We hope you would consider returning and we appreciate your positive comment. • "Beautiful cottage welcome pack appreicated ."

Nice location good transport link bus option if not use car whilst on holiday . Table tennis and games table nice touch for activity if rain day or just needed down time at cottage . We did'nt have our dog with us to enjoy our holiday recently passed . Unfortunatly two issues area to stairs strong smell of urine whether in woodwork , rug or bean bags we just air freshner , mopped and open window to vent room. On arrival kitchen floor and lounge area had been hoorvered or brushed , however questionable if seen mop? cleaned emptied 6 bowls of black dirty water . Overall though this property was fantastic stay so thank you . We saw that planning application had been submitted to convert barn/garage to accomodation for future visits if we were to come return we would only consider if this was like additional for extra accomodation private use alongside home so not shared use of garden and parking area. masonary wasps also invaded front of property under guttering and fascia unsure if got into loft area left a note to housekeeping on our departure.

Thanks for your feedback and glad you enjoyed your stay So sorry to hear about your dog The cleaning issue is highly unusual as we normally have very good feedback - we have fed this back to the housekeeper We believe they are honey bees and so have been advised to leave them alone by the BPCA unless there is a serious problem eg allergies Cornwall planning rules mean that we will not be able to let the barn separately, so will be ancillary accommodation, however unlikely to be for next year Property Owner

It was perfect for the three of us and our dog. It had everything we needed and it is very dog friendly providing much more than we expected. Although I know West Cornwall very well I had not stayed in Praa Sands before. The location was perfect, we could walk to the beach, a very friendly village with lots of amenities. Thank you for a lovely holiday

  • "We loved our stay at Rockhopper Cottage."

It was spacious, sparkling clean, the kitchen was very well equipped and the beds extremely comfy. We also enjoyed the generous welcome pack complete with clotted cream. We were there in a damp spring but in better weather the outside patio would be delightful. It’s just a few minutes walk to the beautiful beach and many other local walks.

Thank you so much for your feedback - we are glad you had a great time despite the weather ! Property Owner

About the location

PRAA SANDS

Marazion 4.5 miles ; Helston 6 miles ; Porthleven 5 miles

The village of Praa Sands sits on the south coast in between Helston and Marazion. Praa Sands is known for its mile-long sandy beach and excellent surfing conditions. There is a bar/restaurant overlooking the beach – the perfect spot for lunch with a view or sunset drinks. Praa Sands is also home to a Golf and Country Club, from where the most wonderful sea vista can be enjoyed whilst you play. Just inland from the beach is Pengersick Castle, the tower of which dates back to the 16th century. It is said that Pengersick is haunted, and that the ghost of a monk has been seen wandering the grounds! The house at Pengersick is rumoured to be the birth place of John Carter, the self styled King of Prussia and a tunnel which leads from the house to the beach was apparently once used by smugglers. There are supermarkets and other retail stores in Penzance (8 miles) and Helston (6 miles).
