  • "Just returned from an amazing stay at Riviere House."

A beautiful property, spotlessly clean, very comfortable, everything that you need for a family holiday. The hot tub was a fabulous treat after a day by the sea. Nothing is too far away but it also is a peaceful location with no passing traffic and far reaching views. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

  • "Wonderful stay."

Everything in the house was of excellent quality. Hot tub, games room, outside areas and children’s playground were also fabulous. Location was ideal too for visiting many of the superb Cornish beaches. Highly recommend and will be back again.

A lovely cake and fresh flowers were on the table when we arrived. The house is furnished to a high standard and very comfortable throughout. Time in the well equipped barbecue hut was enjoyed by the whole family as were evenings in the games room. We would definitely recommend Riviere house to friends. The family will have lovely memories of our time together there.

  • "Our recent stay at Riviere Cottage was absolutely delightful."

Jane had considered every detail to ensure our comfort. The cottage is incredibly well-equipped and spacious, making it a perfect fit for our family, which included my wife, parents, and two dogs. One of the standout features of Riviere Cottage is its location. The long driveway track, set far from the main road, provided a sense of security, especially for our dogs. We didn’t have to worry about them wandering near a busy road, which was a huge relief. The garden is beautifully maintained and offered endless exploration opportunities for our toddler, who had a fantastic time discovering all the nooks and crannies. The cottage itself is remarkable. Each of the five bedrooms is gloriously equipped, and the overall decor and amenities reflect the owners’ commitment to quality. Although only one bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, the other bathrooms are so well done that it didn't detract from our experience at all. Communication with Jane was a breeze. She was responsive and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable. We cannot thank Jane enough for their hospitality. I cannot speak highly enough of Riviere Cottage and would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.

  • "Riviere House."

Wow! We were all smitten from the moment we arrived and this feeling lasted throughout our stay. One of those memorable holidays when it was truly sad to leave. Completely true to the listing, but seeing it all in reality was still a thrill. The quiet location suited us perfectly with distant views of St Ives made even better by a couple of glorious sunsets. So many options to relax or eat; large kitchen table, dining room, patio area with hot tub, amazing BBQ hut with seating, games room, large garden and play equipment for the grandchildren. Wifi was a little hit and miss and so the smart tv functions were largely redundant, but proved the only slight problem. If you're looking for a large holiday home for family or friends and relish the quiet reassuring sounds of nature surrounding you, this is your choice.

About the location

HAYLE

St Ives 6.3 miles; Penzance 7.4 miles.

Hayle is in the far-flung south western corner of Cornwall and sits on an important RSPB wildlife estuary flowing out to the beautiful St Ives Bay, where visitors can enjoy three miles of golden sandy beaches, walks, history and wildlife. Hayle has plenty of activities out of the water too; Paradise Park is a wildlife park, home to some spectacular parrots, otters, and red pandas. Hayle has a range of shops, restaurants and bars scattered around the estuary and harbour area. There are skittles and karting for the family, and for golfers, one of the best links golf courses in Cornwall is at Lelant, a mile out of Hayle. But the jewel of Hayle is the three miles of golden sandy beach, with fantastic surfing at Gwithian where there is a surf shop, lessons and hire of equipment. For the less energetic there are beach cafés where you can take in the views and watch the children play. As Hayle is centrally located you can easily access many other places by either public transport (there is a train station at Hayle) or driving. St. Ives is a short drive away where you can wander through the narrow streets, visit the art galleries, or admire the colourful sub-tropical gardens. St Ives harbour has its own small fishing fleet and there are plentiful boat trips skippered by locals keen to showcase the best that Cornwall has to offer, whether it be seal watching at Seal Island, a couple of hours' mackerel fishing or a relaxing trip to Godrevy Lighthouse. Within easy reach of Hayle is the Minack Theatre, Falmouth Maritime Museum, Eden Project, St. Michael’s Mount and many other fantastic tourist attractions for dry or wet days.
