  • "The property did not list if there was an iron, ironing board and hoover which would be useful for service users."

Also, lovely amount of kitchen cookware, crockery, cutlery and utensils which would be good to know the kitchen is well equipped. There were numerous signs with a lot of information, making one feel stressed, not at all relaxed. These could be displayed more appropriately such as by the rubbish bin for recycling or a note to read a ‘Welcome pack’ to ensure to feel welcome. As makes one feel quite unwelcome (despite signs saying ‘Be our guest’ and ‘Relax and forget your worries at the door’) to have so this and that everywhere like a hostel or student digs. The key box is also very fiddly to manage to open. The car parking space is adequate for two medium cars which would be useful to know. We had an estate and a large hatchback and both fitted easily. This would assist people not worrying about parking etc. The sofa and chairs are not very comfortable to sit on, but the beanbags and footstools are useful. The dining table seats 6, but the house sleeps 8 it’d be if to have a couple of fold up chairs or dining chairs at side to add, rather than others sit in kitchen on stools. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home, these are only our thoughts which we hope are helpful as the house was clean and comfortable, but the signs made us anxious and isn’t something we’ve experienced before so we assume you have had a bad experience from previous guests.

  • "I reserved the cottage as a base for four walkers walking the Cotswold Way route."

It was an ideal location and the cottage was well decorated, lovely and clean and accommodated the party really well with sleeping arrangements. I highly recommend this cottage even if you're not a walker!

  • "Pet allergy friendly."

My daughter is extremely allergic to furry animals but was able to enjoy a week's family holiday here due to the 'no pets' rental rule and very high level of cleanliness. Sykes staff were very helpful and upfront about not being able to guarantee 'no pets' but I risked staying due to the excellent reviews re cleanliness. So glad we were able to stay the whole week and welcome our new grandson/ nephew/ cousin into our family. It meant the world to us. Thank you Sykes and to the owners of Weavers Cottage. It had everything we needed and we loved it.

  • "Lovely house and in a great location to travel the Cotswolds."

House was really clean and very well maintained and it had everything we needed. The living space is a bit small for bigger groups ( we travelled with 5 adults and a baby). There was no travel cot for the baby which was fine for us because we were travelling by car so could bring on own one. We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend.

  • "Everything was as it should be, clean and ready."

Off road parking was very good and essential where the property is located. I would recommend this listing to all. The only thing I would change is fit a king size duvet on a king size bed, and not a double. Please do not print the last comment.

  • "Great little house."

Perhaps add some instructions about how to turn the radiators off (or on), or how to change the temperature. We had to send an email to ask as we certainly didn’t want any heating on. But otherwise we loved our stay. We’ll set up house. Thank you

  • "Lovely, recently done up cottage in a good location for exploring Gloucestershire."

Great communication from the owners. Extremely nice, well equipped kitchen, with plenty of crockery etc, which is seldom the case in holiday cottages. Two main drawbacks from our perspective - one is the communal area is really not big enough for 8. There aren’t enough armchairs and the dining table only sits six. I felt like there should be an extra trestle and fold-up chairs for when required. To be fair though, you can see what there is in the photos. The other is the fan in the upstairs shower room, which seemed to go off continuously and noisily, keeping me awake at night. The other bathroom fan didn’t do this. The owners were very responsive and came out and looked at it but couldn’t resolve the problem.

Thank you so much for your review Louise. We have taken on board your constructive comments and are please to say we have had the fan in the shower changed and added additional seating in the lounge. We appreciate that the dining table seats six unfortunately we are governed by the size of the room although we do have additional seating in the kitchen area. Thank you for your great suggestion of some additional fold down chairs and table, we had not previously considered that option and are looking into it. Kind regards Jayne and Lee Property Owner

Off road gated parking at rear made it easy to unload on arrival. Great location for exploring the area. We stayed the long weekend to meet up with family and friends in the Stroud area. The Bank Cafe in Dursley, Newark Park and sculpture trail worth a visit. Directions for parking, key collection and check out clearly communicated by Jayne and Lee. We enjoyed our weekend at Weavers Cottage. Thank you Jayne and Lee and your housekeeper.

  • "The property was very good for a short break with 3 generations of our family together - we were visiting other family members who live nearby."

The cottage was very well equipped in the kitchen and the 2 bathrooms were fab. Beds were comfortable and everything was clean. The brochure provided in the cottage was informative and we liked the childrens and adults books and games provided. The outdoor space wasn't ideal for young children but wasn't a problem as we were out visiting family most of the time. The neighbours on the right side (from the back) were very friendly. We spent a day out at Westonbirt Arboretum with family which we thoroughly enjoyed (it isn't mentioned in the cottage brochure but is quite nearby). Thanks.

Lizzie thank you so much for taking the time on leaving is this amazing review. We have taken on board your comments and are looking into improving the outdoor space. We are glad you explored the area especially the Arboretum, we have now added pamphlets of local places of interest to the Cottage for our Guests to read. Kind regards Jayne and Lee Property Owner

The kitchen was well stocked with plates, bowls, cutlery etc and a full size dishwasher. Lots of cupboard space to store pantry items and lots of bench space to prep food. Having the 2 bathrooms was handy so we could both be getting ready at the same time. Close to the local Tesco store and not far from the Dursley town centre. An enjoyable stay in a spacious cottage.

  • "Such a lovely place to stay; bedrooms were really spacious."

Kitchen was well stocked in terms of plates, cutlery etc. Close to sainsburys and we went to diff well known parts of the cotswolds on diff days and they were not too far away (around 30 mins). Nice garden to sit in. The only thing we could say was that the only issue was cleaning equipment (no spray and wipes etc to clean surfaces down and clean bathroom after use etc and wanted to do this just to ensure the lovely place stayed clean) so had to get our own. Also there were 5 adults and 2 children and only two dishwasher tablets for two nights which not enough.

The children loved the bunk beds ! Also, having lots of books in the house for young kids was much appreciated. Was helpful to have space for 2 cars to park behind the property. It had good access to local amenities and we had a great day out at cattle country park with the kids. We also went to Crickley Hill for a walk with lovely views. Would definitely recommend Weaver’s Cottage as a good base to explore the countryside and nearby Dursley.
