"Lovely cottage in a nice area."
Plenty of dog walks in the woods nearby. Good facilities in the cottage - dishwasher, washing machine and a well stocked kitchen.

"Just as described."
Would definitely return. Very welcoming and accommodating owners. Peaceful country setting, centrally located to explore the local area.

"We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cottage."
It was ideal for visiting family and friends in Ross On Wye. The cottage is comfortable, clean, and beautifully done, owned by a welcoming and friendly family who are on hand if needed, it is very well equipped having everything you need to feel like you are at home. It is very peaceful surrounded by lovely views, perfect for relaxing. Waking up to horses and goats in the field next to the cottage was perfect. Our little dog was relaxed too, she enjoyed reading the pee mails on our morning walks. We would highly recommend this cottage and can't wait to stay there again.

"Thank you to Jane for being a brilliant host."
This cottage is clean, well equipped and in a great location for touring key attractions such as the Forest of Dean, Cotswolds, Herefordshire etc. Well done and thanks for having us.

"This is a lovely little cottage ideally placed if you want some quiet time away with lots of nice dog walks."
The property sides onto a large field containing horses and goats, which you can take in whilst sat drinking tea in the morning. It is a short walk from the local village which has a couple of pubs, one of which is run by Ghurkas. (Nice food).

"We had a fantastic few days at the cottage."
It was the perfect base for us to explore the nearby villages and countryside walks. The cottage had everything we needed and was a lovely, peaceful setting. The horses, goats and dogs were an added bonus for our 3 children!

"We had a lovely, relaxing few days away staying at Steel works farm, surrounded by wonderful views."
The cottage was absolutely gorgeous - so cosy and inviting and there was a lovely welcome hamper for us on arrival which was extremely thoughtful and much appreciated. During our stay we went on some woodland walks with my children which was fun and we were out for hours but the owners had collated an information pack with many days out you could also explore which was very helpful. I would definitely recommend Steel works farm and would love to visit again!

"Really lovely little cottage in the countryside."
Easily accessible from the motorway. We were three friends wanting to meet over new year somewhere quiet with lots of dog walks nearby. House was ideal for that, and was warm and cosy, comfy beds, and kitchen had everything we needed. Thank you for a lovely stay.

"Comfortable cottage equipped with everything you need."
Lovely location and only a few miles from Ross. Thank you Jane for the generous welcome pack. The decorated Christmas tree in the lounge was a lovely surprise. We wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

"No Hot water at the property, owner did not seem bothered."
It would seem it's a long term issue which will required a new system installed. Skye's customers need to know there is no hot water. I would appreciate a call back as I would like to take this issue and others further.
Please accept apologies if you felt let down that was absolutely not our intention and have always prided ourselves on taking care of guests requests and ensuring they enjoy their stay. Over the past year since we opened this has always reflected positively in feedback, reviews and our guest book. However, there was hot water available at the property. Admittedly it had been turned off prior to your arrival as there had been an issue with the tank overflowing as identified by the guests that left prior to their arrival that day. A plumber had been booked in to resolve the situation. We didn’t want to run hot water away between guests thus it had been turned off. The tank runs only the kitchen sink and the bathroom basin. I would like to point out the dishwasher, electric shower and washing machine run independently from the boiler system and therefore were all working. The hot water was turned back on and we weren’t made aware that it wasn’t working after that. We did walk down to the property Monday and Tuesday afternoon to check how things were but you were out. We hadn’t heard anything else to the contrary so made the assumption all was ok. We take any maintenance issues seriously and have resolved the issue with the boiler by having a new system installed between guests 13th-15th August as it wasn’t feasible to do with guests in the property. This has also addressed any water pressure issues. Once again please accept our apologies and I hope you managed to enjoy the rest of your stay. Many Thanks Jenny Property Owner

"We had a lovely stay at Steel Works Farm."
The cottage was pretty, clean and had everything that we required, as well as a lovely basket of goodies on arrival. It is perfectly located for some days out, we went to Ross on Wye and Symons Yat, and walks along the lanes and fields. Everybody was very friendly and helpful. Also loved seeing the horses, goats and dogs each day. Highly recommended.

"Lovely cottage in an ideal location to visit the many beautiful nearby towns and countryside."
Jane and family were welcoming and friendly and the addition of horses, foals and goats meant there was always something to watch. Fabulous walking along the Wye valley and surrounding hills. The cottage was well equipped and comfortable. The addition of a hairdryer would have been good or maybe there was one and I didn’t find it! Definitely a cottage and area to recommend. Thanks for a great week

"Lovely location and place/situation."
Enjoyed our break. My son and his partner were not comfortable in the diub let bed. My bed upstairs was great. It all comes down to personal taste. Lovely and clean. Great goodie bag and very friendly. Had an unfortunate incident with a bird waking up up at 5 am. Not the fault of the cottage though. Just unlucky.

"Myself and my 2 children loved our stay at Steel works farm."
Jane and her grandchildren were wonderful hosts, becoming friends with us and sharing farm life fun and outdoor adventures across the adjacent fields. The barn itself was well appointed and had everything you’d need and more. The welcome basket was the perfect arrival gift after we’d had an arduous journey across the country to get there. Every little detail was thought of and catered for. Very comfy and relaxing home to stay at boasting picturesque views and surroundings, tucked away off the beaten track. Thank you very much for your hospitality, we’ve had many a Sykes holiday over the years and yours is up there with the best. Fabulous memories made. Thank you, Rachael

"Amazing location with access directly into the local woods; great for walking (with or without a dog)."
Property standard very good, warm with good quality furniture and equipment. Kitchen is very tight - in truth catering is a single person job as there’s no space for a second person. Could do with a couple of larger pots for catering for a small group. We loved the location, the welcome of the owners - the welcome pack was very generous. Definitely go back.
We are delighted you had a lovely time and look forward to seeing you again in the future. Your comments reference the kitchen have been noted and we will add some larger cooking pots as suggested. Thank you again for your feedback. Property Owner

"The cottage was beautifully presented and spacious."
We had all the facilities we needed and excellent neigh-bours! It was the perfect get away for her first family holiday and would highly recommend! The owner was very accommodating and was only a phone call away/ small walk. On arrival the care package was greatly appreciated, which included a bottle of bubbly to relax with after a long drive. We loved seeing the horses daily and even the goats who found the flowers on the decking! We would love to come back and visit again!
