  • "Our 2nd time to the cottage, the last 18 months ago and a great location for us to meet up with all of our children and partners."

As per last time still amazing, relax in the hot tub or playing games in the garage kept us all occupied. Well equipped house with everything we needed, the beds really comfortable. Only downside was the seating, the sofa was old and uncomfortable, but nothing to spoil our enjoyment. The Stilton Cheese pub was great again for food and Sunday lunch. Great communication throughout, and finally the welcome pack of bread, butter, milk and amazing home made cake was well received. Many thanks, hope to stay again soon.

The house was spotless and our host left a very welcome basket including milk , eggs and a gorgeous cake , thanks Rachel. The weather was not ideal but the games room is brilliant, table tennis , pool , darts and table football plus an upstairs Tv and video games space. The biscuits, cake, eggs, bread, butter and milk were greatly appreciated, especially with shops being closed for Easter weekend. The property was spotless, and had everything you needed for a weekend away. The children loved the games room and the hot tub was a lovely temp! Often they are set too cool! We would definitely go back and would recommend the property to anyone wanting a quiet relaxing getaway!

  • "Great property, very clean and spacious, the welcome pack was a lovely touch, the only gripe we had was that the hot tub was cold, we were only there for a long weekend and this meant we couldn’t use it until the Saturday, this may have just been an oversight, but if not a sign to let us know to turn it up would have been good."

Hi Amanda, Chris serviced the hot tub on the morning of your arrival, he was sure that he’d set the temperature to 37.5 degrees which is the recommended temperature, I’m really sorry it wasn’t up to temperature that evening and will be sure to double check going forward. Thank you for your feedback, it is very helpful and we look forward to welcoming you back. Best regards Rachel and Chris Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage very clean but think The’s a big let down going on with maintenance."

Big safety aspect which kept me awake was the front door it unlocked but was stuck would not open. Toilet seats very loose down stairs one hang off. No heating or hot water in main bedroom. No instructions how to use anything. Lighters where there for log burner but all empty my husband ad to travel 30mins to get one. Maybe they could put in the add bring a log lighter. Hot tub was brilliant but no instructions as am sure your suppose to check levels daily. Cooker markings worn off so ad to guess tv was a night mare to work your looking if u get it working don’t turn it off cos u av the same problem all over again. Internets Same it’s got wrong password on. Think all these need addressing urgently it’s unfair to paying guess

Hi Jacqueline, thank you for your feedback it is very helpful particularly maintenance items that may arise and any additional facilities that would enhance guests stay at Farm View House. You should have received the welcome email which would have addressed the hot tub instructions and has the range cooker manual attached to it too. The heating is an air source heat pump with a hot water tank, if there is a lot of use at one time it does need time to re-heat, however it doesn’t normally take long. The house gets very warm as it is new and very well insulated, all of the upstairs radiators are controlled by the hand held remote on the landing, however the individual radiators can be operated by the valve on each unit. I appreciate your comment regarding the tv, there are two remotes one to turn the tv on and the other to operate the channels etc through the BT Box which provides extra channels, some guests bring their own tv applications and plug them into the spare HDMI and I’m wondering if it had been set to another HDMI channel before your stay, we will be mindful to check it is in the right channel going forward and update the instructions. The internet password is on the back of the router box under the tv, the code is also on the welcome email which we sincerely apologise you had not received. Warm regards Rachel and Chris Property Owner

What's not to love on a rainy cold night. Lidls & M&S at Oakham, should you want supplies and Rutland water is great for a mud-free walk with the dog. We drive to Leicester twice to visit some great restaurants, about 35 min drive away. Nice garden centre & tearooms about 2 miles away on Oakham Road worth a visit.

Very high quality fittings & furniture. Smelt lovely on arrival & looked cosy. Very well equipt. Kitchen has salt, oil, foil, herbs, tea, coffee, sugar, bin bags, tea towels & more inc all equiptment you could need, even a slow cooker. Lovely welcome hamper supplied. Games garage is large & has pool table, table tennis, table football, dart board, arcade games machine (although we couldn't work out how to use it) & a TV room upstairs. Showers are powerful, hot tub is a great bonus. Plenty of parking (if your car is low drive in gently at an angle as there is a ramp that will damage the bottom of your car if not careful) The owners are really nice and helpful. One of the best houses we have stayed in. Sat nav took us straight to the house. Locals are friendly. I recommend the Stilton Cheese Inn. Staff are lovely & food delicious. Gates garden centre just down the road is huge for shopping and food there is great too. Burghley house is a fab day out for all ages (they have water features in the gardens that local kids use to splash so take swimwear or spare clothes for kids) Rutland water is a must, with boat trips, a beach, mini golf & nature reserve. Ma's cottage chinese delivers and food was good. Overall a wonderful place to stay.

The only thing would I would recommend to future visitors is if you have a low rise car be careful at the angle you go onto the drive as it can just catch the underside of the car but done at the right angle and slowly you should be fine and also being near a farm you get a few flies (obviously no reflection on the owners) so I would recommend bringing something to combat that but otherwise an amazing stay.
