"The cottage was well equipped, very clean and comfortable with very little that could be improved upon ( more coat hangers possibly?"
) An electric car charger would have been a bonus. The milk, tea, coffee and biscuits were much appreciated. Lovely quiet location but convenient for visiting Oxford, Cotswold villages etc. Very enjoyable stay.
-
"The property was very clean, very comfortable, very quaint and everything we needed was there."
Close to shop and pubs. Very quiet for a relaxing holiday. Close to bus stop ,where you can get to Oxford and Banbury. Lovely village and friendly people.
-
"A small but functional cottage."
Very clean and well equipped. A good size drive at the front of the property easy parking for my 4×4. Great bus service into Oxford City centre.
-
"Really enjoyed our stay at Thelwall Cottage."
It was a nice location for exploring the beautiful village of Adderbury & the surrounding Cotswolds. The cottage was well presented & it had all facilities required - & more! Also provided a few 'treats' on arrival. Thank you.
-
"Such a lovely little cottage in a pretty village."
Easy walk to the pubs and shop and bus stop very close. The cottage was well set up and vey comfortable.
-
"Very nice cottage."
Clean with everything you would need during your stay. Also everything was supplied including the G & Ts in the fridge.

"Unfortunately the electrics have not been properly connected and turning the bathroom fan on caused the boiler to cut out."
The ventilation in the bathroom is nowhere near what is required, with half of the small window being permanently blocked off by the shower screen. Not enough room to dry off with a towel and shower water sprays over the floor. There is very little storage space in the bedroom to unpack belongings, not enough cupboard or drawer space for clothes and far too many owner's nicknacks, photos and ornaments everywhere preventing us finding a place for our necessities for the week. I presume you want to present a shabby-chique look, but I suggest getting rid of the tiny wardrobe and useless table and installing a combined floor to ceiling wardrobe with shelving and drawers with mirror. Settee was extremely uncomfortable, squashy, far too low and needs replacing. Kitchen and cupboards were well-stocked, but left no room for food. Not nearly enough space around the dining table. Complete lack of hooks for coats (especially wet ones!) Worst of all would be a danger if a fire broke out as getting out would really be a problem with the windows either not opening or too small. Good-sized fridge and washing machine. Maybe I expected too much due to the description.
Thank you for your recent feedback, & sorry to hear the weather wasn't favourable for your stay ! We understand the village experienced a power cut during your visit so unfortunately this sounds like it’s contributed to the power being tripped & your electrical issues. FYI -We have to follow a strict yearly Fire assessment with Sykes & hold valid boiler & electrical certification in order to holiday let. The company view all of the properties prior to adding them to their portfolio, write the property descriptions & advice on Inventories & information files. The Owners contact & Head office company assistance numbers are also listed should guests need any help or encounter any unforeseen circumstances during their stay. Our property consists of 4 rooms all on ground floor level, the bathroom has an en-suite size window ( as the photographs show ) & the other 3 rooms have windows that conform to fire regulation standards. All windows are lockable for security purposes & keys are provided at the cottage. The kitchen door gives direct access outside onto the property’s private driveway, should there ever be an Emergency situation arise. Everyone has a personal opinion on furnishings but we feel the pictures ( which were all taken by Sykes ) convey everything Thelwall cottage is, represents & offers guests. May I suggest that before you book your next cottage holiday, that you not only read the description on the property itself but view the internal photos in more detail & also read some of the previous guests comments. This hopefully allows for a more “ general overview” from people who have previously stayed & an insight into their own personal experience. We continue to read predominantly positive feedback from guests which has also contributed to us receiving a Sykes award Certificate. Thank you again for all of your comments & we wish you many Sunnier holidays ahead ! Property Owner

"Had a very relaxing stay at this cosy cottage."
It was spotlessly clean, comfortable, well furnished and quiet. We felt at home straight away. The cake and milk was a nice touch, plus there were lots of other little essentials. Cottage feels like it’s been lovingly restored. Lovely village too and ideally situated for exploring the Cotswolds. We would happily return!

"A really lovely cottage and was very impressed with how clean it was and the fact everything was labelled so we knew what to do/how things worked."
Great location for some peace and quiet but equally only a short drive away to all the nearby towns which we didn’t mind. Would definitely love to stay at this place again and would recommend it to others :)

-
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay."
A perfect choice for a couple. A lovely, spotlessly clean, very well appointed and stylish cottage on the edge of a pretty village with local walks, a village store, a coffee shop and 4 pubs that served meals. It was an ideal location for exploring Oxfordshire and the bordering counties.

"The property was extremely well equipped with all we could have needed and more and it was in very good condition."
However, we did find that the bedroom was too tight for us and the rugs on the floor beside the bed caused problems at night as they slid on the floor when stepped on. The lack of clothes storage was also an issue, the wardrobe was adequate but there was minimal drawer storage so such items had to remain in the suitcases during the week. As these cases had to be stored under the bed this created more difficulty. Use of the bath would be safer if a bath mat could be provided perhaps? We found it a bit slippy during use, probably due to use of shower/bath soaps. We found it difficult to get out of the bath due to the narrow space between bath and sink. We did not feel welcomed by the co-owner, having arrived 15 minutes or so early we just sat outside waiting to be allowed in. At the appointed time she advised the cottage was ready for us and we accessed the key from the keysafe. No verbal welcome was offered. We will not be returning. We did not arrive early hoping to gain early access.

"This lovely cottage was perfect for me."
I stayed here by myself for 3 weeks to enable me to be near family in Bloxham and I felt very comfortable and extremely safe. The cottage is in a perfect spot, ideal for walks or venturing further afield by car or bus from the nearby bus stop. Everything was spotless and the kitchen was equipped with everything one needs. I could have easily stayed another 3 weeks and I would love to return in the future.

"A lovely cottage in a peaceful location that is extremely well equipped and spotlessly clean."
A lot of thought has gone into making the cottage cosy and comfortable with that ‘home from home’ feeling as soon as you walk through the door. All the little extras have been thought about including a tea cosy for the teapot. We have loved staying here and hope to return next year.
-
"The property was beautiful."
A great deal of thought had gone into the property. It was lovely and cosy and very clean to a high standard. The personal touch of a welcome pack was lovely.
-
"We had a wonderful stay at beautiful Thelwall Cottage."
We fell in love with the cottage from the very beginning and appreciated the welcome pack and help from the owner with logs during our stay (it was unusually chilly for the time of year) The cottage was spotlessly clean and even nicer than the photographs. There is a lovely sunny spot to sit outside and enjoy a drink. A wonderful village and surrounding area to explore. We will definitley return. Thank you!

The property is very cosy and comfortable and is very well appointed. Every amenity we could have hoped for was provided and the log burner was a very welcome sight for our January visit. Would definitely stay here again.

"What a delightful and cosy place to stay!"
Very well appointed cottage with lots of thoughtful touches. Excellent range and quantity of equipment in the kitchen so you don't have to wash up every time you want a cup of tea. Easy walking into the village with a choice of 4 pubs to suit every pocket and palate although I would advise taking a torch with you as the street lighting is limited. Lovely welcome pack.
-

"This is a lovely little cottage, ideal for two people."
The standard of equipment and furnishings is very high and the cottage was immaculate when we arrived. This area of North Oxfordshire is so lovely that we only made it into the true Cotswolds once. It was a bonus to be able to take the bus from outside our door and to be in the centre of Oxford in an hour.
