    Stunning location being right next to the pub and rail station but still nestled in the countryside giving the feeling we were in a secluded rural location.

  • "Great place to stay, First time in a Shephards Hut will definitlely be back, home from home in a hut, clean and all the mod cons."

    A good base for the Cotswolds, Highgrove and Westonbrit close by, plus much more. The Tavern Inn next to the Huts is a great place for food and a drink.

  • "Hazel might have been marketed as a Shepherd's Hut but in reality it was a tardis - full size and very comfy bed, piping hot water with great pressure in the fully equipped bathroom, great little galley kitchen and all mod cons to have a fabulous week away from home."

    If cooking gets too much the pub is 30 yards away and serves a great pint of beer and good food. We were well looked after by the owners without being "fussed over" and had everything we needed. If we are ever back in the Cotswolds it is highly likely that we will make a repeat booking. Absolutely loved it - thank you Dan and Ann.

  • "We had a lovely weekend at Hazel Shepherd Hut."

    It was cosy, clean, well equipped and provided the best base to explore the surrounding area. We received a very warm welcome from the owners. I would also recommend the Tavern Inn which provided delicious meals and a friendly service. We joined in with the Bingo night( and won the jackpot!) and had a well cooked Sunday roast. Thank you all for a lovely stay!

  • "Cozy & comfortable, has everything you need."

    We loved just sitting and looking across the fields, taking in the view and the gorgeous sunset. The pub next door is lovely with good food and the owners are very friendly. A great base for exploring the Cotswolds. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

  • "We previously stayed here in November 2023 and had such a nice time we returned for longer 10 day break."

    The hut is very comfortable and we had everything we needed. Beautifully furnished and felt at home. Excellent Wifi. We were even kindly left a welcome bottle of milk and crusty loaf. The views from the hut are stunning with gorgeous sunsets. We dined at the Tavern Inn pub which is directly opposite the huts. The food was delicious - would highly recommend the Sunday Roast! Can't wait to come back - we love it here.

  • "I spent 12 days in Hazel in March 2024."

    It was perfectly situated for me being within 50 yards of Kemble railway station. But having said that you can hardly hear the trains, so they don't disturb. I stayed by myself, but I would think that it may become a little too claustrophobic for two people over that length of time. The facilities are all there, everything you need for your stay. The owner is very conscious of not damaging the planet more than is necessary and so provides soap and washing up liquid that are both bio-friendly. Facilities for recycling and disposing of food waste are also provided. And lastly, the view out across the fields from the doorway is beautiful. I will definitely stay there again (in one of the three huts) when I am next in the area.

  • "Beautifully furnished, clean and very comfortable."

    Much larger than we expected, with fold out table and chairs. Literally had everything we needed. Lots of storage space under the bed, efficient heater. Stunning countryside views. It really made for a special birthday and to top it off we even saw the northern lights! We can't wait to go back again.

Kemble is a charming village and civil parish in the Cotswold District of Gloucestershire, sitting on the fringes of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village hosts a good selection of attractions and amenities worth exploring, with its church having a Norman door and a tower dating from 1250 being particularly interesting. Alongside its historical delights and stunning scenery, you can find amenities such as a Post Office with store, an inviting pub, perfectly situated next to the train station for after a day of exploring the surrounding wonders of the Cotswolds and beyond. Kemble was once an important railway junction; however, it now offers access to Swindon and London Paddington, as well as westbound services to Gloucester and Cheltenham Spa letting you explore the very best of the area.
