  • "We loved every minute of our Applecroft stay."

Three couples stayed for the week and we were very comfortable. Any fears about the track to the house we're soon dismissed....despite heavy rain the week before our visit ...the lane was easy and accessible. Even though we had three cars of various styles and ages. The lane was absolutely not a problem. We loved the views, quietness and beautiful sunsets. The kitchen is very well equipt. We didn't need a thing. We would definitely be happy to stay in Applecroft again. Our hosts were easy to contact and very attentive. Thank you.

  • "A very comfortable and spacious cottage with a very well equipped kitchen and plenty of seating."

Ideally situated in a peaceful setting, but with easy access to the surrounding countryside, towns and cities. Despite the appalling rain, the farm track was easy to negotiate with care...even in our small Honda and the local wildlife will be missed (especially the owls) The peace and tranquility cannot be overstated and we would gladly return.

  • "The property was lovely."

It was quite with excellent heating and has super views across the surrounding countryside. Our only gripe was the lawns were very long on arrival and we were promised the gardener would call and despite reminding half way through our stay they never did. The track to the house is fine if like us your a larger SUV or 4X4 but I'm not sure I would try it in a sports car. The local is beautiful and the local meat and produce superb.

Thank you for your feedback, it was lovely to meet you both when you checked in. I did mention the lawns at the time as they are usually mowed on a weekly basis, due to constant rain and the fact our gardener had been ill for 10 days, it was 2 weeks between cuts, and unfortunately you were there for the 2nd week. I tried to keep you in the loop by leaving voice and text messages on your phone, as the gardener was booked in & he tried to complete the work but was unable to due to reoccurring illness. This rarely happens as we have a great team who do their utmost to keep Applecroft looking beautiful. The cottage is accessed by our farm drive, it is a private stoned drive to be travelled with care, which is travelled regularly by family cars including golf GTi, classic escort XR3i, BMW series 1 sport and Audi A1 sport. • "Absolutely beautiful house & surroundings; however we were disappointed given how rural it is at the lack of dog walking available from the property."

We would like to point out that the drive isn't suitable for some cars, if you came in a sports car you wouldn't make it down. The house was lovely & clean when we arrived & there was absolutely everything you could ask for to cook full meals at the property, along with a good size fridge & freezer. The dining kitchen was really lovely for the social aspect along with the table & chairs in the garden which the weather allowed us to use on the first night we where there which was lovely. A footstool or 2 in the living room would have added some extra comfort as for 4 adults relaxing on an evening wasn't massively relaxing. The beds are hard, which as someone who likes a hard mattress I thought would be fine, but the double we had to put the duvet under the sheet to pad it out a bit! We feel some people may struggle with this. Bathrooms were lovely & clean & showers were great even when all 4 of us were showering to go out. Having the downstairs toilet was a massive bonus. Location is what really let it down for us sadly. It felt like a 30 minute drive was required to get anywhere & the lack of a village pub to walk to again was a disappointment. For a retreat of doing nothing, this property is perfect & absolutely beautiful, but I wouldn't say it's best placed for exploring Worcestershire personally.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We really love where we live and want to share it with our guests. There is a comprehensive welcome pack filled with lots of lovely places to go in the 3 surrounding counties of Herefordshire, Worcestershire and South Shropshire. The market towns of Cleobury Mortimer and Tenbury Wells are justa10-minute driveaway, with a range of independent shops, cafes, pubs, a museum, and art deco cinema. Kyre park and Witley Court are 15 minutes, Ludlow historic town, Castle and river are 20 minutes, and if you stretch to 30 minutes, you have Leominster and the black and white trail, Croft Castle, Berrington hall, Hampton Court, Ralph Court Gardens, Bewdley, The Wyre forest and go ape, Severn Valley railway, West Midlands Safari Park, Bridgnorth, Craven arms and the discovery centre, Stokesay Castle. The cottage is accessed by our farm drive, it is a private stoned drive to be travelled with care, which is travelled by family cars including golf GTi, classic escort XR3i, BMW series 1 sport and Audi A1 sport. We’re sorry you didn’t find the living room very relaxing, there is a large floor cushion in the living room which is there as a foot stool to be used with the 3-seater, 2-seater sofa, or either of the easy chairs. We are a rural farm-based cottage, but we are about 9-minute drive / 1-hour walk from the nearest pub. With the dog walking ,as shown in the welcome pack, there’s a map of the parish showing the many beautiful walks for you & your dogs. There is also direct access from the stoned farm drive onto the public footpath network which leads to open fields and woods, close by at Newnham Bridge there is Oak Ridge total dog care Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage, great views and had a really great stay."

Really useful that a stair gate and highchair was available. This Helped with dog and baby. Place was clean and really nice. Some confusion over getting consistent shower temperatures though which seemed to be an issue after 3rd or 4th shower of the morning, which doesn't make sense as it's electric!? Maybe user error? Also lack of recycling facilities was annoying.

thank you for your feedback, I'm not sure why there would be a problem with the shower on the 3rd or 4th shower, these are independent to the central heating system so do not use stored hot water, to there should be consistent hot water all day long, we cannot find a problem, but our phone number is on the front page of the welcome pack and we ask all our guests to call if there is any problem or queries as we are nearby. There is a card detailing the recycling information in the kitchen, and the recycling bins are the top of the drive. Bags are provided under the kitchen sink. • "A beautiful cottage with outstanding views across the countryside."

Very relaxing. Cleanliness 5 stars would certainly recommend this cottage to anyone who simply wants to relax. The only problem was finding the lane to access the cottage- could do with signs on both sides of the entrance. The dirt track was rather difficult but understand it's a working farm used by tractors. A very pleasant holiday. The dog loved the open spaces around the property. The only thing that I would suggest is the weeding around the cottage which would enhance the property.

I'm glad you liked the views across the countryside and would recommend the cottage to anyone who wants to relax, I'm sorry you had difficulty finding the cottage, we do provide very detailed directions, as it is in a rural area off a B road, we currently have a new sign being made by a local craftsman. The farm drive is a stone rather than dirt track which is maintained and shared with the small stock farm and its tractor, as a rural country cottage, we keep the established garden looking as country garden as we can, with a mowed lawn. hanging baskets and planted boarders we try to create the country garden feel with a practical and enjoyable garden, and seating area, and hope that our guests enjoy the tranquillity, wild life and country views. • "Lovely house with views over the valley."

Very clean, and kitchen well equipped. Dining table needs attention, legs are very loose. Enough seating for 6 adults lounge and dining room. En suite and bathroom very clean and quite new, electric showers in both so no probs with hot water. Bedrooms have 2 king size beds, one zip link to separate into 2 small singles, not super kingsize as advertised. 3rd room has 2 single beds. Track leading to property is off road and uneven. Oil central heating - lovely and cosy. We accessed the house from the back as there is a porch, easier to dry dogs before taking them indoors. Hard floors throughout - perfect for dog families. Garden is enclosed but not dog proof, back fence in garden corner - no visible fence and other areas that dogs can get out. Sheep and lambs in adjoining field so we kept our dogs on leads in the garden. Also dogs not allowed upstairs, not made clear in advert, only in documents at the property. Stair gate provided, we used on kitchen door as didn’t want to put on stairs, space not too good and don’t want to mark the walls. We have a 6 m puppy so no choice but to have her with us in bedroom in her crate. Good cleaning equipment, vac, mop, broom, dustpan and brush. Dishwasher very handy and tabs under the sink. Would book again, as this is a lovely property, and smart tv a reasonable size, we used our Google stick to view. WiFi provided good enough to stream.

Thank you for taking the time to leave such detailed feed back, we will attend to the dining room table legs immediately we are sorry this problem was not picked up while we were cleaning, as its a solid wooden table from time to time we have to re tighten the fixings We will also immediately repair the garden fencing as this should be dog proof. this is something we feel is very important so that all dogs can be let room freely in the garden. Dogs are also allowed upstairs, we will check through the welcome pack to ensure this is amended so that our guests feel free to have dogs upstairs. The track has been damaged by the recent heavy rain and the stone is due to be topped up. to avoid any confusion Bedroom 1 is a king size bed, Which can be changed to 2 single beds (this is the firm mattress) Bedroom 2 is a double bed and less firm than the kingsize in bedroom Bedroom 3 is 2 single beds We live within a few minutes of the property and our phone numbers are on the welcome pack, should any of our guests have any queries or problems we are always happy to help We hope you do stay with us again and have enjoyed this stay too. We loved the views from all the windows and the quiet seclusion. Emma had decorated the downstairs for Christmas, not only with a tree but with lovely little light up ornaments. We appreciated the generous provisions left for us too. The house was plenty big enough for our 3 generation family with ages ranging from two to seventy two. Another big plus was the firm mattress in the en-suite bedroom - perfect for aging backs! Although the weather wasn’t suitable to be in the garden, it would be great in summer - very private and with lots of space.
