Description

Sitting in the heart of Annagry, County Donegal is this enticing, detached holiday home of Wisteria Cottage.

An idyllic setting for a family of seven's getaway to Northern Ireland, Wisteria Cottage not only offers exquisitely decorated interiors but is within reach of plenty of the west coast's sights, from the quaint isles to the mainland's picturesque beaches.

Parking on the private driveway welcomes you on arrival, so you can settle in without all the hassle.

The property also rests a very short drive from the Doneal Airport, adding even more convenience to your stay!

Progress inside to uncover a fabulously appointed open-plan living space, where sunroom/sitting area offers a delightful space for you to unwind in, courtesy of its windows streaming in natural light and plush seating in front of the TV.

A separate sitting room/study can also be found close by, where the older members of the group can enjoy a moment of relaxation on the sumptuous seating available.

After enjoying some quality time together in either space, progress to the open-plan space's impressive kitchen, where the chef of the group will have a ball rustling up delicious meals with the wealth of appliances available, such as electric double ovens and a dishwasher.

These meals can be relished at the glass dining table as you catch up on your beachfront adventures, or over at the breakfast bar as a quick bite before wandering out to explore the sights.

Just off the space is a handy utility, where a microwave can be found, alongside your laundry facilities, so you can keep your beach gear and holiday wardrobe fresh.

When night falls, freshen up in the cloakroom before choosing one of the four fantastic bedrooms to rest in, the first one being a ground-floor king-size enjoying access to a spacious wet room; perfect for multi-generational breaks!

Climb the stairs to find the latter three bedrooms, with one of these comprising a super-king-size enjoying vaulted ceilings and Velux windows, as well as its very own walk-in wardrobe and immaculate en-suite bathroom; another lovely king-size with an en-suite and a single can also be found nearby.

In the mornings, sit out in the garden with a cup of coffee before heading out to sample one of the local eateries, whether that be a sweet treat at the Time & Tide or a hearty lunch at Caisleain Oir or Danny Minnies Country House.

Spend the day by the coast and venture to Carrickfinn, where the beautiful sands of its beach entice you to sunbathe whilst the little ones paddle in the turquoise waters; continue the coastal fun over at Carnboy Beach, where the idyllic fishing spot of The Boat Strand awaits.

Be sure to visit the village and townland of Derrybeg, a picturesuqe place offering lots to do, from its golf course, ferries to Gola Island, beaches and high street packed with bars and shops, you'll rarely be bored here.

Why not walk the Burtonport Railway Walk, catch a boat over to Arranmore Island, spend time at Dungloe Lake or embark on an outdoor adventrue in the Glenveagh National Park?

Whatever you choose to get up to during your stay, Wisteria Cottage offers a wonderful base to return to each day.

I would 100% recommend, this house was fabulous, so large and loved how we had a en-suite in 3 bedrooms this makes a big difference, it was spotlessly clean and had everything needed, I have nothing bad to say myself and my family loved staying here.

On arrival, the sign to Wisteria cottage was face down therefore we passed it as unable to locate it.

Whilst driving up the overgrown driveway, we had difficulty getting our car past the overgrown trees on the right hand side. The front doorstep was covered in weeds which didn't create a good impression. The house was cold when we stepped inside and there were no instructions how to regulate the central heating. The instruction booklet was inadequate and out of date. There was no terrestial TV and as the weather was wet and bleak outside there was little to do. Garden furniture inadequate and garden uninviting. One of the kitchen cupboards was dirty. We also couldn't get the main oven to work and there were no instructions. We were so unhappy with the accommodation that we only stayed 2 nights. We fed back our dissatisfaction to the owner.
