Over priced for the condition it is currently in Kitchen well equipped, microwave filthy, cooker tired and extractor thick with dirt, bathroom pull cord a health hazard I’m sure when the cottage was new it was fantastic but has been neglected and let’s down the area and the management company For pictures on this review see Trip Advisor review with pictures A freak coat of paint and good clean this could be a great place to stay

Some guests describe the cottage as clean .More describe it as sparkling clean. Property Owner

  • "Rather disappointed with the cottage."

It was somewhat "tired" and not very clean.

I do not understand what you mean by describing the cottage as tired as it is a newly built modern cottage. . The guests who were there the previous week said it was sparkling clean as indeed did the guests prior to them Property Owner

  • "A wonderful cottage in an idyllic location."

Clean and well maintained throughout, everything was in order and contained exactly what we needed. Everyone had a wonderful time, thank you and we would love to return in future. Only issue we had was finding the cottage from the instructions! Although I'd been to Cruit before, it still took us 20 minutes to find the house. You could add the following information for future bookings: The house is located at: Grid Reference: B735191 GPS: 55.0188859623°, -8.4144285619° What3Words: ///viewfinder.patches.chocolates

  • "Very scenic & great for walks with the dog."

This time of the year not crowded. The few people I did speak to to were very nice. Loads of lugworm beds to dig for bait but not the best place for sea fishing. Signage at the fork in the road & at the cottage would be helpful. .The two downstairs single mattrasses need replacing together with the two can openers(one did not work & the other was dirty sticky & starting to rust. I would go again if the fishing was better.

if you contact the maintainance man he will let you know the local good seafishing spots and you will have some good stories to tell about your great catches Property Owner

  • "Location of cottage ideal."

However cleanliness of cottage leaves a lot to be desired and house could do with a makeover. There was no CD player as listed and the DVD player did not work properly both which were very frustrating.

Thank you for your feedback, we will be speaking to our housekeepers in regards to the condition of the property. I am sorry you did not report any of the issues to ourselves as we would of rectified during your stay, the CD and DVD player have both been replaced following your feedback. Again thank you for your comments and we hope to see you again in the future Property Owner

  • "The property is not to a standard to give a comfortable winter break, the temperature in the living area was only 16c ."

If the oil fired central heating on its high setting used 1 litre per hour, oil is charged at €1 per litre which is 27+% over its actuall cost . All the heat was sucked up the open fire chimney. We used 60kg of coal , 5 baskets of peat and 1 bag of logs. Total cost of heating €81 for 6 days to attain at temperature of 18c at the end of the 6th day. This issue was exasperated by a draft around the double bedroom window, no seal around the loft space doors in the upper bedroom and no flap valve on the toilet extractor fan . All heat was lost if you opened the front door because there was no porch. A hot tap was not fitted on the left hand side , good job none of us is blind ( Europe Standard) . A sink was loose on wall , and the hot water tank had no insulation at all. I also think the bed quilts were not winter tog , their was not one sharp piece of cutlery. Dust in the corners and cobwebs all over. Bed room lay out was very poor, I'm sorry there is no finesse or care visible on this property.

Thank you for providing feedback on your stay at Lully More Cottage. I'm sorry that you had issues during your stay. Unfortunately, it was one of the coldest weeks in the year. The central heating is very effective along with the open fire with heating up the cottage, we're sorry you found this inadequate. If there was any issues during your stay the caretakers number is provided so they can attend. All other issues raised have since been taken care of and any cleanliness points have been addressed. Cruit Island is a small island in the Rosses region on the west coast of County Donegal which is linked to the mainland by a bridge. The island is best known for the Cruit Island Golf Club, a 9 hole course which is one of the most scenic courses in Ireland and is thought to be one of the best 9 hole courses in the world. Just over the bridge to the mainland is the village of Kincasslagh which lies between Cruit Island and Innisfree Bay, and is well known as the birthplace of the popular Irish singer, Daniel O'Donnell. The west coast of Donegal possesses some of the most spectacular coastline in Western Europe, and the area surrounding Kincasslagh is littered with fine sandy beaches. Take in the breathtaking scenery and location, visit the bustling fishing port of Burtonport, catch a ferry to Aranmore Island and see the cliffs and lighthouse, or discover the historical town of Dungloe; with its spectacular cliff views from the golf club to Aranmore, wild bogs, views of the bay and 130 fishing lakes, it is certain to impress. A short drive will take you to the beautiful Glenveagh National Park; its 16,000 acres are ripe for exploring, and encompassing most of the Derryveagh Mountains, it is a haven for walkers. A wonderful location, at any time of the year.
