"What a lovely atmospheric, quirky cottage."
We had a lovely week here. The supplies provided were much appreciated, especially the fresh eggs from the owner's hens. Definitely the place to go if you want period charm and atmosphere!

"Jane and I really enjoyed our stay at New Thatch Farm."
The cottage was well equipped and comfortable; and perhaps even quainter than the pictures on the website. The location allowed us to explore parts of Ireland we hadn't seen before; with both beautiful walks in lovely scenery and historical towns to visit. Sonia was lovely, meeting us on arrival; showing us where everything was and how to use all the equipment (even the equipment we didn't get to use). Hopefully we'll have another opportunity to visit.

"Terrific experience in a lovely thatched roof cottage, well preserved and restored."
Sonia was an excellent host and made sure we had everything we needed. Such a delightful person! the price was too low for the value of our experience. Could have been twice as much and well worth it!

"Beautiful thatched cottage, bright and airy and really comfortable, set in beautiful grounds."
I really recommend it.

"This was a bucket-list checkmark for me."
We loved the experience of staying in a thatched-roof cottage with a wood-burning stove for heat. It was a bit more rugged than we anticipated due to the modern central heating system having become inoperable the day before our stay. However, we were given the option of finding other accommodations but decided to make a go of it. There was ample wood to keep the fire burning but you have to be willing to get up and tend the fire a couple of times during the night. I also was reminded that people weren’t as tall when homes were built this way. If you’re over 5’ 10” be sure to duck when going through doorways or up on the upstairs landing. Sonia was a great host and we’d stay here again. Be sure to take a left out the driveway and visit proprietors Tony and Fiona for a pint at the Fox’s Den Pub, 2 miles down.

"We had a perfect stay for a full month in winter!"
The fire made it very cosy (there is additional heating too), and the sleep was just the best. It's quiet, very comfortable bed, all that you need. The kitchen is fully equipped too and the outside was great with horses, flowers and nature.. Most importantly it was the hospitality of Sonia that made it so special- she is one of a kind type of host, that goes out of her way to accommodate you, and resolve any issues that may arise very quickly. We would stay there again for sure!! Thank you

"The family spend a lovely week in New Thatch Farm, on arrival we were taken aback by the beautiful location and property."
The cottage has a wonderful mix of old world charm with all the mod cons. The Owner Sonia was very friendly and very helpful with recommendations. All in all a wonderful time was had by all and we would highly recommend a stay at this beautiful cottage.

Quiet retreat.

"It is a beautifully renovated thatched cottage in a lovely are of County Cork."
Sonia met us on arrival and there was local produce for us to use. She was friendly and helpful but I think the 'piece de resistance' was Gin the cat. If you love animals then this is the right choice for you. Thank you. The Naylors and Kate

"The cottage is very special and really takes you back in time to how the Irish lived."
Wonderfully restored some years back retaining its age; history and romance of a wonderful place. We had a great time and we were able to relax and enjoy the cottage. It is in a remote location but thats what we wanted for peacefulness of the Irish country. It is perfectly located for exploring the west side of Ireland which is what we managed to do in the 8 days we were here. Thanks Darren and Vanessa.

"A delightful step back in time while having all the modern conveniences."
Cottage was renovated beautifully with every attention to detail and in keeping with its old world charm. Sonia, the owner was very friendly and accommodating. My only regret is that we didn't have more time to really enjoy the cottage in the evenings around the fire. Thank you, Sonia, for sharing your home. I'm sure we'll be back!!!! Mary, Noelle and Sara
