Description

Loisburgh 2 miles.

This delightful detached cottage is situated just off the main Westport to Louisburgh road on a quiet country road in the scenic County Mayo.

Lovingly refurbished by its owners, this cottage provides an ideal base for families or friends looking for a quiet location but within easy reach of the beach and the bustling town of Westport.

Entering into the tiled porch area, a great place for storing the walking gear, you are lead through into the spacious open plan living area.

The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you need to rustle up delicious meals for those sunny picnics on the beach, or a scrumptious evening meal to be enjoyed together around the dining table.

After dinner, relax on the comfortable sofas in front of the dancing flames of the open fire and watch your favourite TV programs.

To one side of the open plan living area is the utility room and the well-appointed master bedroom with its en-suite bathroom.

To the other side are two further bedrooms, a double and a twin room having the luxury of 4‘ double beds and a family shower room.

The enclosed front lawned garden is the perfect place for the children to run off the last of their energies at the end of the day whilst the adults relax with a refreshing drink.

A short walk from the property takes you to the beach where birdwatchers will enjoy the large variety of breeds that can be seen here.

A short drive takes you into the small town of Louisburgh where just outside you can hop onto the ferry at Roonagh Pier and take a voyage across to Clare Island, an inhabited island guarding the entrance to Clew Bay and home of the Clare Island Lighthouse.

Alternatively spend a day in the lively town of Westport with its beaches, traditional shops, bars and restaurants, or pull on those walking boots and explore the surrounding countryside, maybe even take a hike up to the top of the well-known pilgrimage site of Craogh Patrick.

Why not hop in the car and enjoy a drive along the renown Wild Atlantic Way soaking up the amazing coastal scenery along the way?

Whatever you choose to do, return to this lovely property to relax at the end of a fun-packed day out.

Lovely cottage in a quiet area.

Everything you need was provided for a self‑catering holiday. The hosts are great — friendly and helpful, greeting you on arrival to show you around and explain everything. It’s a short drive to a safe beach with toilets and a catering van. Difficult to find initially using the sat nav coordinates provided. It would be helpful to include a postcode with the driving instructions. F28 E064 takes you straight there.

We liked it the first time we were there, and it was just as good this time.

From the moment we arrived at the Cottage , there was nothing but positivity from start to finish .

Owners , Willie and Marion had a beautiful turf fire lighting and were present to welcome us , likewise when we were leaving arrived to say goodbye and wish us safe travelling . Have rented many holiday homes but can safely say it was THE BEST of the lot . We are already planning to return next May . Enough said .
