  • "This is the best farmhouse we have stayed at anywhere in Ireland!"

A really secure garden for 2 Springer Spaniels. House is warm and comfortable with all mod cons and is nicely situated for touring around. Martina was a very helpful host and her recommendation for dining out were great. Thank you

Thank you so much for your comprehensive review and for leaving the house spotless. It was a pleasure to have you both and we would love to have you return to Peter’s Farmhouse in the near future. Martina Property Owner

  • "We enjoyed our stay here very much."

It was our first visit to Northern Ireland, and the house provided a comfortable home for a base. We were warmly and personally welcomed by Martina and she had a wonderful local knowledge of the area. The welcome pack was much appreciated- particularly the generous amount of milk, the amazing hamper and well stocked kitchen which was very helpful after a long journey including a ferry. The whole house is very well equipped and very clean. The seating area is perhaps a little cramped for 6 people but probably only a problem in wet weather. The surrounding area is quite remote and very peaceful which is why we chose the cottage. Beautiful walks and scenery on the doorstep including an observatory in the dark sky area. Some National Trust properties and fantastic coastline further afield. Martina is a very helpful host- nothing seemed too much trouble for her, even offering to meet guests on arrival and guide them from the nearby town in the car if needed. However the directions were clear and worked well. A traditional farmhouse in a beautiful area- we had a lovely week of exploring from a comfortable base.

Thank you so much for your feedback Michael, I’m delighted that all four of you enjoyed your stay at the farmhouse, it was a pleasure to have you there and we look forward to your return. Martina Property Owner

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at the farmhouse."

It's a lovely house. Thank you very much for the generous hamper! Just a couple of things to feedback. First, on the beds, there was a thick layer underneath the sheet as well as a thick duvet. This really wasn't necessary and made it too hot to sleep. I realise this could be removed by the guest, but I didn't feel comfortable doing so. Second, while it's good to have automatic outdoor lights, considering the house in located in a dark skies location, it would be amazing if they turned off after a minute. We sat outside and waited 10 minutes for the lights at the back to turn off. Once they were off, we loved being able to see the stars! Third, it's great that you offer an outside dog area. But we were confused as to where it was placed on the deck. Where it is, it blocks the view and the tall fence doesn't help. If you ever redo the back area, consider moving it to the fence which separates the farm from the back area and lower the fence. Then guests could really enjoy the amazing views! Just a few points to mention, but overall, absolutely amazing house in a stunning location and I would love to go back to the area and stay for a whole week and the farmhouse would make a perfect base! Just some minor points, but I think it would make a big difference.

Mrs Sutherland, thank you for your feedback very positive comments in our guest book, we will certainly take your suggestions on board as we endeavour to make our guest experience the best it can possibly be. In order to address your issues, there is a mattress protector on all beds at the property to provide enhanced comfort and hygiene for our guests. Of course you were free to remove the cover or I could easily have resolved this issue to your satisfaction as I have ample bedding and I had visited the property on several occasions. As the health and safety of our guests is paramount, the lights have been set to10 minutes to allow all our guests (of all ages and abilities) adequate time to negotiate the property safely. In addition, this setting provides adequate time for guests to remove luggage, groceries, buggies etc from their cars. Once again, I was only a phone call away and I would have been happy to address the issue had it been raised at the time. Regarding the dog area, as we spent a full year renovating the property a lot of thought went into it. We are dog owners ourselves and after much consultation with other dog owners we decided to locate it there. Many of our guests have commented that they like to watch the dog from the kitchen or while they dine on the patio area, others are happy to leave their dogs in this very secure area while they are going away. The 6ft fence was designed with the security and protection of guests in mind. As it is a rural, isolated country area surrounded by farmland and many animals the health and safety of our guests is our priority. In addition to the patio area, there is another area at the front of the house which affords our guests panoramic views of Beaghmore AONB. It is our aim to ensure that our guests are comfortable, it is a pity that I was not made aware of your preferences as they could have been easily addressed if they had been communicated to me. However, I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "We had a wonderful week staying in Peter’s Farmhouse."

The house was clean and comfortable and had everything you might need during your stay. Being centrally placed in Northern Ireland meant that many places (including the Causeway Coast, Lough Erne and Enniskillen, Belfast, and the Glens of Antrim) can be visited in a day by car. And the local area also has plenty to offer such as the Sperrin Mountains and the historic towns of Omagh and Dungannon. The farmhouse is in a peaceful location with the amazing Beaghmore Stone Circles and Davagh Forest a short walk down the drive. Whilst you can truly get away from it all here, Cookstown – with its many shops, restaurants, leisure centre, and cinema – is only a 20 minute drive away. Our host, Martina, couldn’t do enough for us. She was responsive to our questions and recommended things to do, and places to go.

Thank you so much for your excellent review. I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay at Peter’s Farmhouse and I hope to see you again. Property Owner

  • "We had our best nights’ sleep at Peter’s Farmhouse since we’ve been in Ireland!"

The beds were so very comfortable with beautiful fresh clean linens. Everything at The Farmhouse is new and top notch; the very best appliances and furniture. It was SUPER CLEAN, private, warm, inviting, relaxing, quiet and large enough for five American women to enjoy meals, rest, friendship and fun! It’s a great place for a family! Martina is a super host! She has lots of information about the area and she also suggested a really great day trip for us….and we loved it! The Farmhouse is centrally located to so many attractions like the Bronze Age stone circles that you can walk to and only a short drive from all the rest! If we are ever lucky enough to get back to Ireland, Peter’s Farmhouse will be first on our list!

Thank you so much ladies, you were wonderful guests and it was a pleasure to meet you all, I really enjoyed your company. Thank you for leaving the house in immaculate condition. I am delighted that you had a great stay and enjoyed your trip to the Glens. You are right, the property is centrally located and it easy to go anywhere in the North within an hour from the house. It would be my pleasure to welcome you back to Peter’s Farmhouse anytime. Martina & Jill!! Property Owner
