  • "Thankyou so much for a lovely last minute trip to your beautiful holiday home, me and my partner wanted to book the day of and the owners where super accommodating and sorted it out for us, they left lovely treats on arrival for us & even left treats, dowels & wipes for our much loved dogs."

Honestly the nicest caravan we’ve ever stayed on, the caravan plot is perfect felt very private as there’s trees at the back separating us from other caravans which was lovely to sit outside & enjoy the decking. Cleanest caravan we’ve ever stayed it & smelt lovely upon arrival. Gorgeous walks around, shop on site and a dog friendly bar/pub for entertainment. The caravan was well equipped usually when we stay in caravans there’s always something we forgot to use in the kitchen however we didn’t have this issue here because the owners quite literally thought of everything. WiFi also worked perfectly considering we had no service on our phones throughout the stay the WiFi was very powerful! Thankyou so much we will definitely be back!

  • "Hadrian's Rest really lived up to its name!"

The location feels wonderfully remote and peaceful, but we never felt cut off. The Hadrian's Wall Heritage Walk is right on the doorstep, linking you to nearby villages with great pubs and places to eat, all easy to manage on foot. It's also a great base to reach the Lake District, making it a brilliant base for exploring. For anyone travelling with dogs, this place is a dream. The caravan welcomes two dogs, the enclosed decking gives them a safe outdoor space, and the on-site bar has a dog-friendly area too. The surrounding walks are ideal and plentiful, and we never felt like an afterthought — dogs are genuinely catered for throughout. The caravan itself is comfortable and well-equipped, with everything you need for a relaxing stay, and the open-plan layout works really well for unwinding after a day out. The owners were friendly, helpful, and genuinely available if you needed anything. It's the kind of personal touch that makes all the difference and has you leaving with a warm feeling about the place. We'd absolutely come back and would highly recommend Hadrian's Rest to anyone — especially dog owners — looking to explore this beautiful, underrated part of Cumbria.

We are so overwhelmed with this wonderful review. Dogs are an important part of our lives and the heart of the family. We aim to provide 110% in guest satisfaction and we would love guests to return again and again. Thank you so much Property Owner

CARLISLE

Gretna Green 13.1 miles; Penrith 19.9 miles; Dumfries 36.2 miles

Carlisle is set in the county of Cumbria, situated just 10 miles south of the Scottish Borders and is nicknamed the Border City. During Roman times the town was established to serve the forts for Hadrian's Wall, which runs east from the city across the country to Wallsend on the east coast and today is recognised as a World Heritage Site. During the Middle Ages, due to its proximity to the Kingdom of Scotland, Carlisle became an important military stronghold and Carlisle Castle, still relatively intact, was built in 1092 by William Rufus, after once serving as a prison for Mary, Queen of Scots. The castle now houses the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment and the Border Regiment Museum. In the early 12th century Henry I allowed the foundation of a priory in Carlisle and the town gained the status of a diocese in 1122, resulting in the priory becoming Carlisle Cathedral. The Settle to Carlisle railway runs across some of the most breathtaking scenery to the popular Yorkshire town and Carlisle Racecourse has a packed fixture list including Ladies’ Day and evening fixtures. Within driving distance is the Victorian seaside town of Silloth and just over the border is Gretna Green, where you'll find the Gretna Gateway Shopping Centre and Anvil Hall, the famous wedding venue.
