  • "Despite a previous review there is a lovely seating area behind and there is sunshine during the middle of the day."

Evening sunshine can be had by sitting out at the front. Since only a very few people live in the row it is quite peaceful enough to enjoy a book and glass of wine at the end of the day. Maintenance of the communal areas is good. parking is close by. Extremely peaceful and quiet yet handy for Lyme or Charmouth, although we usually used the car there is a bus stop at the end of the hotel drive. Having the hotel nearby for dining and/or swimming is handy (though we did neither). We really enjoyed our stay. Thankyou for the welcome goody bag. Lovely dorset products and good to make that early cuppa after a fairly long and busy journey.

  • "Front door could do with a lick of paint and towel rail in bathroom needs fixing to wall, but just superficial things."

Lovely location, situated halfway between Lyme Regis and Charmouth, just a quick 2 minute drive. We loved it. Welcome pack was a really nice touch.

  • "Perfect weekend stay for us, with our grandsons and dog."

In a lovely, quiet setting, the property was very clean, well equipped and comfortable. Safe open spaces outdoors, and convenient for local attractions. The double bed mattress was a little soft for us, but the boys slept really well in their beds! We will definately consider staying again in the future.

  • "Overall we were very pleased with our stay."

With lots of walks on the doorstep for either Charmouth or Lyme Regis, the location was perfect and we would happily stay again. The welcome bag was a pleasant surprise and very much appreciated. The only reason we have not given 5 stars is due to the beds, as one of the single beds had a base that was starting to collapse. It was still sturdy enough for one of the kids as they are only little and don't weigh much but would not be suitable for an older child/adult. Despite this, we were extremely happy and have already recommended this place to friends.

  • "I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here."

Admittedly, I was a little concerned at the front door which really needs repainting, but once I was inside I was very happy with it. It was comfortable & warm. I was particularly pleased that a pint of milk had been left in the fridge so that at least o could make a cup of tea. We had a minor issue with the water supply, but someone came round to sort it out within 1 hour. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom & kitchen were clean. The kitchen included a fridge freezer, a microwave oven, a washing machine, coffee machine and a dishwasher. Plenty of crockery, cutlery, pans, & cooking tools. I was very delighted with the little bag containing tea, coffee, biscuits, flapjacks & fudge. I would definitely use Sykes Cottages again.

  • "Excellent location."

Coaster bus useful at the end of the drive. Could not fault the comfort and cleanliness. The kitchen was very well equipped. The dishwasher a bonus. However the outside seating area was a disappointment and the kitchen was very dark and uninviting. The welcome pack was a much appreciated surprise. We would recommend the property as long as visitors were not expecting a pleasant outside space to sit and enjoy breakfast or just relax.

  • "I wouldn't have booked this accommodation if I had known the drinking water was not safe."

The washing machine/dryer did not work properly and made it impossible to dry clothes which when you are by a beach is something which is necessary. In fact all of the appliances were dated and old

The drinking water is safe to drink, but as it's a private water source, the advice is that it may be preferable to boiler water before use but it's not essential. We will take a look at the appliances accordingly. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

  • "Really enjoyed our week away."

Perfectly located between Lyme and Charnmouth. Very little amenities local to accommodation. The cottage was clean and tidy but could do with a bit of love though with regards to curtains and blinds and the area at the front of the property (garden) and the garden at the back. Made it unattractive in comparison to other holiday homes. We had an issue with no hot water but as soon. As we called out of hours someone arrived to fix the problem immediately. A nice and tranquil stay for 2 adults and 2 children.

  • "A very comfortable cottage set in a quiet area."

Good access to all road routes. The cottage was furnished to a good quality and very good welcome pack. Myself and 2 grandchildren enjoyed our stay and would certainly return to this cottage.
