  • "Very comfortable barn conversion on a quiet Devonshire farm."

Lovely conversion with an ideal layout of double bedrooms each with ensuite. The staircase between the two bedrooms provided privacy and everywhere nicely decorated and furnished. All the comforts of home. Easy parking. Made very welcome by a charming lady farmer who makes excellent soft scones! We only met the lovely sweetest natured farm dogs as we were leaving. Highly recommended and we hope to visit again.

  • "Our stay at Bowbeer Barn was thoroughly enjoyable."

The hosts were very friendly and helpful and the fishing in the pool was great. The cottage was clean and comfortable although due to lack of space there was no cupboards to store our food supplies for the week and the internet was intermittent. There was a wide range of animals in the adjoining field Aylesbury and other ducks, geese, goats, bulls and cattle and the cottage has a good surrounding area which we made full use of. Would readily return if stopping in the area.

Glad to hear you enjoyed your holiday. It was unfortunate that the internet was intermittent during your stay. We have a Starlink dish and this is the first time we have had any issues. We have had a computer engineer visit who has tested and rebooted the system and has confirmed all is working fine. We look forward to you visiting again. Property Owner

Very comfortable Cottage with very good facilities and provisions. The upside down layout meant lovely view over the fields. It can be a bit challenging for people with mobility issues, but the gate at the top and solid rails provided good safety. Woodburning stove and well stocked kitchen were great. The homemade scones with cream and jam on arrival were a lovely welcome. Name customer: David

Accommodation was spot on clean comfortable and everything you need for your stay. Even though you are on a working farm it was so peaceful and interesting watching Jackie,Adrian and Bradley go about their daily lives, and if you wanted to know anything about what they do just ask. Nothing was to much trouble. Our Daughter Toni was in her element she even helped with the cows on the last day. I would actually like to score it 10 out of 5. It was very warm and great for our dogs to be so close to wonderful walks. Very friendly owners and we enjoyed a tour of the farm and local recommendations. The only thing we would have loved would be a car charger as it is stressful arriving after a long journey knowing you have to find somewhere that works quickly. If the charger at Tedburn St Mary had not worked we would have been really stuck!

The area is lovely, the owners were both friendly and helpful and the farm dogs are as friendly as all the other comments say. I would definitely recommend this property to others that want to stay in a farm or off the beaten track. The only thing I would say is that the enclosed garden isn't completely dog proof so if you have a smaller dog you can't just let them out in the garden unattended unless they won't be distracted by a working farm. That's only a minor thing and I am glad I chose Bowbeer. Thank you for having us

A great place for children to see the animals which were not averse to being petted. The garden is totally enclosed and great for dogs and the farm dogs are so friendly they didn't cause any bother. The owners and their son were very welcoming and friendly. They also provided us with a good supply of farm eggs and sausages which were great value. The accommodation is very homely. Our teenagers loved the dogs on the farm, all the animals and having a pond to fish in. It was a god send as when we came back from a day out, the fishing gave them something to do that didn’t involve tech. Bowbeer Farm is in a beautiful area and fairly central for visiting many places. My ownly useful tip would be some better mattresses on the twin beds. They were very hard and my daughter really struggled to sleep on hers, so ended up on the sofa for several nights.
