  • "The property is in an ideal position to visit Lyme Regis."

It seemed a bit unnecessary to collect the key from the other end of the town. There was no yellow cone to show the parking space and no welcome pack. The bed was hard and uncomfortable. As we about to leave it was dark and the power went off. We enjoyed the weather for 3 days.

  • "The property was ok but difficult to find."

We had to enlist a resident to help us. It was not clear at all that the gate round the back was the property. Also there was no parking notice to where we should park. There was no welcoming hamper as experienced by previous guests or welcoming hosts. There were no black bags as listed in the instructions to deal with rubbish or recycling so none was very clear. The shower was excellent but the bed uncomfortable and sank in the middle.

  • "Only one key instead of two as in the past Although details were clear the occupants of the Lymmings thought the garden and BBQ were shared They were noisy coming back at 10."

45 at night Their dog came into the cottage as it wasn't on a lead On another occassion the dog messed on the grass, although picked up, we didn't let our grandchildren play on the grass anymore Some nights their external lights were left on No bin liners for the kitchen bin or wheelie bin No welcome pack as in previous years, not even a pint of milk Only one tea towel suppied Two windows don't open In the light of the above £2,400 a fortnight is excessive After our previous 7 happy stays this will be our last

Thank you for your feedback. We will review the instructions and listing for The Lymings and address the bin liners. We do only provide 1 key for guests as standard now but should you need a second set, please let us know and we will happily provide another key. The owner is having someone look at the windows as this is the first time this has been reported to us. We appreciate you taking the time to leave your comments. Property Owner

  • "We’ve just had a very enjoyable 3 nights at Fig Tree cottage."

For two adults & a dog it’s a cozy little base, ideally situated right in the heart of Lyme with parking. However, there are a few things which would improve it even more. I would strongly recommend a hand rail into the bathroom. It was no problem for us, as we are able bodied but could be an issue for anyone who wasn’t so mobile. If I’m honest, the lack of Wi-Fi was a problem. If it were to be added to the cottage we would definitely be booking again & recommending to friends & family. Lastly, a better floor mat at the door. The current one is no good at all for wiping feet & dog paws! Over all, a lovely place to stay in our favourite place to visit.

  • "Although we enjoyed our holiday, particularly the location we were very disappointed by your response to our problem when we had no hot water on arrival."

Your phone line only stated it was closed on Sunday morning with no indication of opening hours and on Monday the operator i spoke to was very vague although someone came to help at 2.00 p.m. I will not be booking with you again.

  • "Great little cottage and the location is perfect."

Couple of small issues: 1. It wasn't made clear that the garden was not private and shared an access to another property. We had 4 guys staying in the other property who were back and forwards numerous times during the day, not ideal for the dog or our privacy 2. Oven glove in property had mould on it 3. Door mat at entrance to property completely useless, when it rains it does nothing Other than the small issues mentioned we had a wonderful stay in a lovely property

  • "The property was well appointed and positioned in way of 2 adults."

WIFI was missed hence the 4 out of 5 recommendation. Good shower and bathroom facilities. Window blinds need attention - some of the slats are in need of repair/replacement. The garden needs a tidy up in respect of the falling and low hanging fruit. Properties that shared access through the garden let their dogs foul without cleaning up. Signage to that effect could be used. All in all a pleasant stay and would it use it again if we were planning to come back to Lyme Regis.

Thank you for your comments which we will look into. We do expect dog owners to check and clean up after their own dogs, and accept that it is not very pleasant if left for others to find. We do hope that you enjoyed your stay in Lyme Regis. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

I'm referring to the seagulls of course. Otherwise an excellent place to stay.

  • "Firstly we loved Lyme Regis."

However finding the property and key safe situation was a different story. We were not told until we had paid the full price of the holiday about the keysafe situation. We have used Sykes Cottages before and after payment we have been given instructions and the owners number which gives us as seniors peace of mind incase of any problems or difficulties. Your previous properties have been perfect no problems at all and even a welcome pack to greet you not here sadly. The garden isn’t inviting as it looks in the photographs. We were looking forward to using the deckchairs but they were in a poor state tucked up the side of the building. In fact all the garden furniture was in a poor state and it was a lot of money to us what we paid to be disappointed like this. It’s supposed to have a washing machine but it hasn’t that shouldn’t be stated. Yes it states the steps to the bathroom are step but that is a bit of an understatement for health and safety reasons there should be a rail put there. The extraction fan was making terrible noises so we were nervous to use it so refrained and that wasn’t ideal as there is no window in the said bathroom. We didn’t stay the whole term of the holiday we had to return home the bed was so uncomfortable we were suffering with terrible backache. Luckily it was very warm so didn’t require to use the duvet so layed that on the mattress to try and make it a bit more comfortable.

  • "Love Lyme Regis, we like this property and have stayed many times."

I think the interior decorating is looking a little tired and needs a spruce up. The first window in the bedroom would not unlock and the fan in the bathroom starts and runs, but within a couple of minutes stops and starts continuously. These are only minor problems the rest of the cottage is great we love it and will definitely be booking again soon. Hope Julia and Tony are enjoying their retirement.

Thank you for your comments. We will organise for our maintenance team to attend and look into the small issues. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

  • "Loved the property the only thing I would suggest is some sort of handle to steady yourself stepping down into the shower room as the steps are deep."

Also no Wi-Fi that would be good as not everyone has facilities on their phones. T.v., reception not good but probably due to location but appreciated the DVD’s. Such a great position with car parking just brilliant.

It is in a quiet spot and if you are like us and can't walk too far it is ideal as it is so close to the town and seafront. The cottage is well equiped and comfortable and you can guarantee peace and quiet. We like it so much we have all ready booked for next year

  • "Fig tree cottage was nice enough."

The property however wasn’t as listed. We had downgraded to this property on the basis a washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher were noted to be in the property. None of which were there. It was a comfortable stay albeit basic. Worth noting that you need to take shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. Also when we arrived, the lovely owner greeted us, and was surprised to see we had a baby with us, and advised children weren’t normally slowed -even though we had provided this information on the booking. It doesn’t state no children, that info could be updated too.
