"Overall very clean and comfortable, plenty of equipment to cater for numerous guests."
Nice big tv, efficient showers, big cooker nice cold fridge. A couple of issues, only half the toaster worked properly the other half a potential fire hazard. This had been pointed out by previous guests. A large coffee maker ie filter machine would be nice as it was only possible to make one or two cups of real coffee at the time. Internet a bit hit and miss at times especially in the evening. Overall though it was a very pleasant stay and I would recommend it.
Hi Geoff Thank you for your review. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay. I pride myself in having a clean and inviting home and I am glad you appreciated this and all of the new electricals. As for the toaster, when I tested the toaster, the part of the mechanism which lowers the bread into the toaster had been bent and so the safety mechanism had stopped this side from working. The toaster has now been replaced. It is always worth contacting either myself or Sykes as per the instructions, as this could have meant that this could have been resolved during your stay. We do have two 6 cup Italian coffee makers and a cafetière in the fully fitted kitchen. Hope you enjoyed all that North Devon has to offer and hope you will return soon. Property Owner

"A lovely period house which was very spacious especially as we had ten people in our party."
We arrived the day before Christmas Eve and the house had been decorated, and some Christmas treats also left. This was a lovely touch and put us in the Christmas mood. The house had everything we needed and was well equipped with everything you would need for the perfect holiday. Location was great as everything was easily accessible.
Thank you Susan for your lovely feedback. We do try our best to make everyone's stay as special as possible and I am so glad you appreciated this. Glad you had a wonderful Christmas by the sea. Property Owner

"The house was absolutely perfect for our family getaway."
Everyone had plenty of space and the proximity to the town centre was wonderfully convenient. The kitchen was very well stocked, the bathrooms were pristine, and the beds were really comfortable. We would love to stay here again!
Thank you Samuel for your lovely kind words. We would love to have you back in North Devon for you to continue to enjoy all that it has to offer Property Owner

"The back door opens onto a small courtyard with steps leading up to a seating area obscured by an overgrown cordyline tree rendering it pretty useless the garden is virtually non existent and no where for 9 of us to sit and relax and enjoy the sunshine."
The steps are not suitable for elderly to get up ,the house itself is on an hill with steps up to front door, parking is on the roadside if you can get a space I don't think the outside area is described very well 9
Hi. Thank you for giving your feedback and glad you enjoyed your stay. North Devon being a rugged coastline, being so close to the sea, hills are inevitable. We are very close to the harbour and beaches so it isn’t a long walk away. It does state in the description that it is on-street parking which there are always spaces albeit not always directly outside the house. The garden is as described as a terraced garden on three levels with one level being a courtyard. The garden is fully secure for dogs. If you want to exercise your dog then there is a park less than 2 minutes away and the South West coastal path is less than 5 minutes away. Numerous beaches are within a 10 minute walk away, the nearest being less than 5 minutes walk. Indeed if you look at the previous review they exercised their dog on the beach, having the beach to themselves. Perhaps you can refer to the description Property Owner

"Good value for money."
All the basics that we needed. Big table for family meals. Comfortable bedrooms and two bathrooms. About 10 minutes walk to the harbour beach. Took the dog every morning and had the beach to ourselves! We didn’t use the deck as it wasn’t safe for the dog or my parents.
Thank you for your feedback. Glad you enjoyed your stay. Glad you enjoyed the benefits of being so close to the sea Property Owner

"No designated parking on a steep hill however, we managed."
Downstairs toilet would have been a bonus and an accessible garden. Nice welcome cake with milk, teabags and coffee provided.
-
"The house was very comfortable and stayed lovely and cool downstairs in the hot weather."
All the essential things were there on arrival, tea, coffee milk and most importantly cake! The seagulls made for noisy neighbours, but to be expected near the sea.

"The house was very clean and comfortable."
The beds were brilliant we all slept well. There was 6 adults, 1 child and a dog and we had plenty of room. The welcome pack included a lovely Victoria sponge which we ate straight away. The only thing we weren't happy with was the garden, for us it was unusable. The steps were far to steep for my parents to use (mid to late 70's) and my granddaughter (just turned 4). They were also slippy as they were made from wood which was a shame as a garden was important to us. I also think that the very steep route down to the harbour should be mentioned as its made walking back from the harbour really difficult for my parents . I am in my 50's and I found it challenging.

"On arrival there was a lovely welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk and a yummy cake which was much appreciated after a long journey."
The house was clean and very spacious, there were 10 of us staying 6 adults and 4 children(10-14) the house never felt cramped, the games room was a big hit with the children and Grandparents too. With a short walk to the harbour and local amenities, it was also a great hub for visiting the surrounding areas of Woolacombe and Croyde for surfing and coastering or just to enjoy the lovely sandy beaches. There are boat trips from the harbour and some lovely restaurants nearby. Hele Bay is a lovely cove again within walking distance of the house. We had a lovely stay and would highly recommend Lighthouse View to other large groups of families or friends
Thank you Vicky for your great feedback. I am so glad you had a lovely holiday and you enjoyed Lighthouse View, including the little games room. I am glad you agree that there are more than enough things to do local to Ilfracombe to fill your holiday. l would also like to say thank you to you for leaving the property as clean as you found it - this was very much appreciated. I very much hope that you can come back to Lighthouse View again some time in the future. Property Owner

"We had a fantastic week at Lighthouse Cottage - a beautiful, clean, Victorian house with loads of lovely features, gorgeous decoration and all the appliances and household items that you could ever need to feel like you are in a home from home."
The house is in a great location just a few minutes walk from the harbour and also Hele Bay, plus a short drive from a well-stocked Tesco. All the bedrooms are lovely and beds are super comfy, and the games room with table football and console is a nice bonus. We were initially slightly disappointed that the fire was gas and not a real log fire, but it certainly kept the whole place lovely and warm and didnt matter at all in the end. Communications with the owner were great throughout and we simply had a wonderful time - highly recommended.
Thank you Jennifer for your great feedback. I am so glad you feel the same as I do about the house and agree how well situated it is. I have tried to keep the house as authentic as possible but the fire is just more convenient for most people. I would have loved to have a real fire but it would be too much hassle for some. I have tried to keep it as authentic as possible and kept it a real flame to keep it toasty. Glad you had a lovely relaxing time! Property Owner

"We had a lovely week stay at Lighthouse View."
The split level house was perfect for 4 generations of family. 8 of us in total. The house had everything you needed. Plenty of towels for a large family stay. The upstairs terraced garden was lovely for eating breakfast outside. But not suitable for children under 3 due to steps. The location is perfect if you want a walk into Ilfracombe. Be prepared to walk up hill on your return. Also convenient to drive to other beaches Lovely house and would definitely recommend it and hopefully visit again.

"We’ve recently had a family holiday at Lighthouse view Ilfracombe."
It was a coming together after a strained and difficult 18 months for the whole family and we were so looking forward to making more memories of happy times. Lighthouse didn’t disappoint! It was home from home ( but bigger) , beautifully decorated, comfortable, well equipped , we settled in immediately. It is convenient for many places & activities, quite a lot within walking distance , although often uphill , which suited us , we were fitter by the end of the holiday! I would definitely recommend it , we certainly have lots of wonderful memories of a lovely time & place . The Parry family.

"Very comfortable accommodation, home from home."
The owner was very friendly and the extra touches such as cake and bread on arrival was well appreciated.

"Really lovely house within walking distance of Ilfracombe and a few minutes drive from Woolacombe Beach."
House had everything we needed and was really comfortable. Parking is street parking and sometimes difficult to find a spot but we managed. Playroom was a great hit with the kids. Pub at the end of the street and harbour a couple of minutes walk. Lovely home made cake left for us along with some essentials, milk etc which was a welcome touch. We visited Exmoor Zoo, Watermouth Castle, Croyde Beach, Woolacombe Beach, Hele Bay all were within a short drive of the house.

"Lovely house to base yourselves from in Ilfracombe."
Great to have somewhere that comfortable to get back to especially when weather was on the wet side- to be expected in late October. Steep hill outside was the only challenge for on street parking- not for the less confident driver.
-
"We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Lighthouse View."
The location was fantastic and the facilities were exceptional. We felt right at home which was nice when the weather wasn’t on our side. Thanks again!
-
"This was a lovely spacious Victorian terraced property."
We found it to be very clean and comfortable. For a large property having only two bathrooms was tricky although they were both well equipped. The only downside to this property is that it is on a steep road out of town which is not suitable for those who are not fully mobile as well as being difficult to park on a daily basis.

"Lighthouse view had everything - spotlessly clean, very comfortable and great location."
The welcome cake was much appreciated too.

"We really enjoyed our week at Lighthouse View."
It is beautifully presented, well equipped and homely. There was plenty of room for us and our kids loved the table football! The house is in a fantastic location. A short wall to both the harbour and Hele bay. Great views too! We would highly recommend Lighthouse View.

"We booked this holiday relatively last-minute due to the fact that we were not able to go on our original foreign holiday due to the coronavirus situation."
House was spacious, newly decorated and with brand-new equipment in the kitchen which I do not think had previously been used. The owners had left home-made cake , milk and some other basic essentials which was very thoughtful of them. There were 2 bathrooms both of which were exceptionally clean and modern ,one of which had a bath. We were there is a nice seating area at the back of the house but this does have to be reached by some quite steep steps which again could cause some problems to anybody with mobility issues. extremely pleased with the standard and cleanliness of the accommodation. The house is situated approximately 10 minute walk from ilfracombe harbour which is down hill on the way to the Harbour but is quite a steep walk back to the house and may not be suitable for people with mobility issues. There is however plenty of parking available close to the Harbour .Overall we found it to be a fantastic base for our stay in ilfracombe and would thoroughly recommend to anybody considering a stay in this area.
