  • "A lovely break in a fab location."

The Barn is decorated and fitted out to a high standard. The owners are on hand for anything that you may need. I think the only thing I would suggest is an information sheet, wifi code etc. It was a bit strange not having a wardrobe in the bedroom to hang clothes in, but I'm gussing that it's due to the slope of the roof.

Perfect all round. Hope to return one day and stay a bit longer.

  • "The Barn was a perfect stop over for me which I would recommend and use again."

It’s a delightful spot with easy access to Plymouth and the beaches at Bigbury and Bantham. There are so many beautiful places nearby, including Newton Ferrers and Noss Mayo, it’s impossible to name them all. My stay there was made even better with the other inhabitants … Badger the dog, and Nigel the cockerell and his harem of beauties that roamed the site. A little bit of heaven in Devon I’d say.

The host is very responsive and helpful. Great too if you have a dog with a large lawned garden and great walks. We highly recommend

  • "What a lovely place The Barn is!"

Just perfect for the 2 of us and our dog. Spotlessly clean and set in lovely gardens. The owner Rich was so helpful & nothing was too much trouble. Lovely nearby pubs to eat at and great for visiting local coastal villages.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at The Barn."

Owners very welcoming and friendly. It had everything we needed for the 2 of us and our dog for a week away from home. Beautiful location with amazing garden and pool. The only minor things that I can think of to recommend would be a drying rack to use when youve washed up, as we had to play pot and pan jenga on one of our own tea towels after washing up. A few hooks on the back of the bathroom door would also be handy. There is only one thing that would stop us from coming back and that was the mattress. It was sunken on both sides and the noisy springs crunched from wear when you sat on or moved slightly in bed. It was the only let down of an otherwise perfect stay.

Thanks Emily, apologies, it’s the first time this mattress issue has been raised. Decided to heed your advice and I’ve just ordered a new one! Property Owner

  • "The owner was really helpful and always quick at replying to messages."

He recommend some lovely tourist attractions which was dog friendly. He also let us get some eggs from hes chicken in the back garden. The only downfall was the hot tub being a distance from the barn it was in the owners back garden he was away but still it would be nice for the hot tub to be outside the barn as well as the BBQ.

  • "Slightly lacking in kitchen goods ie only 1 large pan / no egg cups or cooking dishes and some basics that are usually provided?"

salt / washing up liquid and cloths. Was surprised no microwave. Owner very pleasant and sorted out tv issue straight away.

Many thanks for your feedback, Alas our guests require variable amounts of kitchen equipment which is why I always state when welcoming guests to ask me for anything extra they need. All that you mentioned I can happily provide if asked, but to avoid clutter we feel it best to stock as we do. Washing up liquid was and is provided. Our property description states there is currently no microwave, although, I agree it is worth us investing! I’ll order one now, many thanks for the suggestion. Property Owner

The accommodation is lovely, and they welcomed us in to use the facilities and made us feel super at home! Whenever we had any questions regarding recommendations and things to do they were happy to help all the time & gave us some great day trips! We would 100% stay here again, and like we said if you’re ever passing through Mickleton area let us know :)

Thanks Nathan, lovely to welcome you both. If you or any of your friends ever fancied a trip down here over the summer the National Fireworks Competition is held ever year in Plymouth Sound. This year it’s 16th/17th August. It’s a fantastic event! Property Owner
