  • "Lovely property."

Fantastic location and views from upstairs over to Kingswear. Could sit and watch the boats all day! We didn't really use the lounge as we enjoyed sitting in the dinning room or cute garden which was so peaceful. Property is well equipped and set up. The 90 steps to the property could be a challenge to some, but so worth it. We enjoyed our week so much, we have booked to stay again next year!

Thank you so much for your feedback. We are pleased you had a lovely time, and so much so, you have booked for next year. The views of the River Dart, and the peaceful garden are the reason we bought the house all those years ago. Property Owner

Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your recent stay with Coast & Country Cottages. We were very sorry to read your review after trying so hard to rectify the issues you encountered. Unfortunately, not every property in Dartmouth offers a parking space or permit but allowing you use of a spare permit we hoped would help during your holiday. When your concerns were raised about the lounge being in close proximity to the stairs we had a stairgate dropped to the property within the hour. We did not put this up as were advised you were happy to install yourself. We strive for excellent customer service and have investigated your complaint thoroughly and can only apologise that you perceived our service in such a negative way. We are happy to see that you still enjoyed your visit to Dartmouth and hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a more positive experience in the future. With best wishes Coast & Country Cottages As the owner of Sandquay view, I would like to thank you for your feedback. Firstly I would like to point out that the Sykes site refers to the parking situation, however the Coast and Country team very kindly provided you with a free parking permit, which doesn’t appear in your feedback. Secondly, on arrival, after requesting a stair gate, we paid for a new one to be delivered to the property, via the team in the Dartmouth office at your request. Thirdly, I left the property two hours before your arrival, and all appliances including televisions were working, as were the remotes, indeed after your departure, I returned to find all appliances still working. The position of the television in the main bedroom is so you enjoy either the TV or DVD, or even radio, whilst relaxing in either the bed or the armchair. The downstairs bedroom was available to you if you had concerns about your child’s safety. I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay at our home, we love our house and spent five years searching for its unique location, and fantastic views of the River Dart. Dartmouth is an historic location, with a high elevation, established before the advent of the motor car, and its charm lies within these facts, which leads to compromise with modern day living, for example very few homes have car driveways, and easy access . We hope you return to Devon one day , and enjoy all it has to offer, including the steam train, which passes our house once every 30 minutes, which can enjoy from our elevated deck in our enclosed garden, which we often do whilst enjoying an al fresco lunch . • "It would be wonderful if the people who stayed at your property were able to have a visitors parking permit for the duration of the stay."

We loved your property and your neighbours who we met. Your house had everything we wanted. We had lovely weather so the only other thing I can think of would be to have a table outside that could house all 6 of us. Many thanks.

We are very pleased you loved our property, and we are very lucky to have lovely neighbours. Thank you very much for your feedback, regarding the tables outside, sometimes people put the two sets available together, to seat 6 people. Regarding the visitors parking permit, it sadly doesn’t apply to Sandquay Road, only the car park in Mayors Avenue, otherwise we would have provided one. Hope to see you again soon. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was lovely, had everything we needed and spectacular views."

We did find some random things left by previous guests including a pair of child's slippers, a rucksack and a tooth!

Many thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are thrilled you loved the property, the views really are special. We can only apologise that some belongings had been left in the property, we can confirm that these have now been removed. Please know if you had let us know during your stay someone would have popped up to get them. We are so pleased you enjoyed your holiday and do hope we can welcome you back to the area soon. Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through picturesque countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat trip across to Kingswear and on to Brixham, a pretty little harbour town. For those seeking some beach activities, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blue Flag Award winner Blackpool Sands, and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular and just a stone's throw from Dartmouth.
