"Absolutely brilliant!"
It was perfect for a few days get away.
Only Downside was that we didn't find the two sofas particularly comfortable.

"The property was clean and tidy and suited our needs perfectly."
Lovely comfortable bed and a welcome 'cuppa' pack of milk, tea, coffee and biscuits on arrival along with a vase of fresh flowers in the sitting room. On road parking was easy as the road is quite busy and the parking space provided I felt lacked visibility of traffic coming down the road.
Buses to Torquay and Paignton are regular and easy to access from the end of the road. All on one level and a great flat.

"The property was spacious and very clean."
A good location near to amenities and shops. Was walking distance to the beach. The road could be noisy from traffic. The flat above was noisy. Grandchildren were staying for the weekend and the noise at times was overwhelming and disturbing. I did speak to them who were understanding about it. The owners paid attention to detail in that there were clothes pegs, washing pods for the machine. Cleaning materials and washing up liquid. Very conscientious in that regard. In the lounge the sofa’s were not very comfortable in that they were very soft with little support; and the one sofa smelt musty which was a little off putting. In the kitchen whilst well stocked the cutlery, crockery etc were very dated. (Charity shop old) again was very off putting. I didn’t enjoy my morning coffee because the mugs were old. The furniture was also dated. Whilst the flat was very clean everything was old looking. When I go on holiday I expect the standard of living to be higher than back home. The bed was comfortable and bed linen of fairly good quality. The shower was excellent. There were two parking spaces but a very tight fit, my car was scratched as I couldn’t open my door because of the bushes. Obviously the flat was once a house that had been changed into flats. Insulation not great as I could hear tv and radio and the clock which chimed every 15 minutes. The back garden was a bonus which had a washing line. Unfortunately at times you could smell cannabis which wasn’t pleasant. For the money I spent I expected better quality and a higher standard especially in the kitchen. There is also a freezer which was useful and a washing machine. Although you couldn’t open the door fully to the washing machine. If the property was updated I would stay there again. The flat had a musty smell throughout.

"Tidal Reach is located on a busy road but has the benefit of off street parking which is great."
The property has a small secluded garden which was nice to relax in after a busy day. The rooms are all on one level, are a good size, with wooden floors. The beds are very comfortable & bed linen is top quality. The lounge furniture is a bit dated but ok for our weeks stay. Kitchen well equipped but once again rather dated.
Generally speaking, Tidal Reach is a comfortable & homely ground floor property which suited our party of 3 over 70s. Having the owners living above was a ‘nice to have’ just in case of any issues. We would happily return to Tidal Reach if we plan to return to this part of Devon.

"Lovely place, great location and parking, stunning outside."
Comfortable and warm, some of the furnishings made it feel very dated, a little too much clutter, ornaments and cushions for me but that’s personal preference. Lovely towels and linen. The inside felt a bit dark and the kitchen was cold. What spoilt it for me was I guess not in the owner’s control. The upstairs neighbours, woke me every morning around 7am, washing machine on, walking around like elephants above the main bedroom. One afternoon it sounded like there were children on scooters above the lounge. Not what you want when on holiday to rest.

"Review of Tidal Reach Holiday Stay
Our stay at Tidal Reach was unfortunately marred by several issues that significantly impacted our holiday experience."
Arrival and Parking: Upon arrival, we were greeted by scaffolding at the front of the property. This not only limited the parking space but also made it impossible for me to exit my car using the driver’s door due to the shared driveway with another holiday flat. As a result, I had to park off-road, which was quite inconvenient. It would have been greatly appreciated if we had been notified about the scaffolding in advance.
Accommodation Issues: The bedroom floor was quite slippery, making it uncomfortable to walk barefoot or even with socks on. Additionally, the bed was extremely firm, causing both my wife and me to suffer from backaches throughout our stay. This was a major downside as it affected our overall comfort and rest.
Dining and Kitchen Facilities: Although the flat was advertised as suitable for four people, there were only three dining chairs available. Thankfully, there were only two of us, but this would have been problematic for a larger group. The kitchen, while well-stocked (over-stocked) with utensils (including eight saucepans, three slicers, two whisks, and three strainers), lacked essential storage space for fresh food and tins. As a self-catering flat, it was surprising to find no storage cupboards or even a breadbin, which made meal preparation and storage quite challenging.
Information and Amenities: There was a noticeable lack of information regarding local services such as emergency doctors and dentists, etc. which would have been helpful. Additionally, there were no instructions on how to use the oven. As we are accustomed to a gas cooker at home, we struggled to figure out how to operate the electric oven provided.
Guest Interaction: Normally, guests are greeted either upon arrival or within a couple of days to ensure everything is satisfactory. This was not the case during our stay. The only time we met the owner was on the Friday evening of our stay, when he knocked on the door to inform us that the cleaner would be coming in the next day. He did not introduce himself or inquire about our holiday experience. This lack of friendliness and engagement was disappointing. I would suggest the owner take some lessons from the Hotel Inspector on how to be more welcoming and attentive to guests.
In summary, while Tidal Reach has potential, several aspects need improvement to enhance the overall guest experience. Better communication, more comfortable bedding, adequate dining seating, proper kitchen storage, and comprehensive information about local services and amenities would make a significant difference.

"The property in general was fantastic."
Had everything we needed and a great amount of space, with a perfect location.
The only downsides were 2 things: seeing the scaffolding when we arrived & seeing straight through to the other apartments kitchen. We surprised seeing the scaffolding and perhaps we would have expected to be given notice it was there. It didn't affect us overall, I just had to remember to duck. One of the reasons we booked here was the garden but perhaps we didn't appreciate the layout with the other holiday property. It was how their kitchen looked directly to the garden quite noticeable after sunset. Garden was lovely though. We also booked this property as it stated no pets as at a previous holiday property there was waste left in the garden. We hope this remains the case as it was great space.

"Tidal Reach is a great base for the area and the parking space is a bonus, although the bed, for one of us, was too firm."
Putting the blanket from the living room under the mattress cover certainly helped. There is an iron and hairdrier at the accommadation which isn't included on the website, but we didn't see the freezer. Unfortunately, we just couldn't work out how to use the cooker hob! Some directions would have been helpful. Another thing worth considering would be an information pack. Not just about what to do at the end of the stay, but for places to visit, buses, takeaways etc. That being said, we had a great stay and would definately stay again.

With 2 young children, it was a nice touch to find Easter eggs on their beds and lovely to have some biscuits, milk and flowers waiting for us. Private parking was good although there was plenty of space on the road. A great few days!!

I especially liked the chimming clock.
The welcome pack of tea, biscuits and a bottle of bubbly is a nice touch and very much appreciated.
I would recommend staying there to anyone and will book it again myself in the future.
