  • "The apartment is wonderful."

    It was spotless and the furnishings were immaculate. The bedrooms were particularly good and the embroidered towels were a very nice touch. The bed linen is high quality. I have stayed in 4 star hotels that have not been as nice. All of the facilities are top tier as well. Kitchen is very well equipped. The lounge is lovely and comfortable too. My only minor criticism is that the bedrooms and bathrooms were cold. We were there in mid-September and it would have been nice to have the temperature a little higher. The heating seems to be set to turn itself off at night and also during the day. Could have done with keeping the temperature downstairs higher at night time. I didn't do anything with the boiler as there were instructions not to touch it Had we been there in the height of a hot summer the cooler lower floor would be a blessing. The car parking is a short walk from the apartment with pretty steep hill. My mobility isn't great but I managed it. The area is very hilly in general along that stretch of coast which means the views are amazing. As a place to stay I would certainly recommend 10 Cove View as the great place to stay. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again if we returned to Ilfracombe.

    Thank you for your very positive review. We have a newly installed Nest heating system which controls the boiler and all radiators which sits on a shelf in the lounge. Due to our ever changing weather & guest preference, we set to18 and leave it to guests to adjust to their preferred heat temp by rotating the dial eg to 21/22 and adjust the radiator in whichever room you want hotter or cooler- some guests found it too warm to have radiators on overnight. We hope you stay again and if so please call us on arrival so we help to optimise the heating to what you prefer. Property Owner

  • "Beautiful apartment but both bathrooms need a little attention."

    The lounge, dining and kitchen areas are lovely - light, bright, very clean and with everything you could possibly need. The two bedrooms and bathrooms are at basement level, so a little darker and slightly chilly. Everything is immaculate. With the larger bathroom, the pop up plug wasn't working, so if you ran a bath, the water would just run away. The heated mirror over the sink wasn't working, and the pop up plug in the sink didn't work properly either. We reported this to the housekeeping service, who suggested we have a go at fixing it with a screwdriver. As my husband couldn't use the bath, he had a shower, and found that the temperature control knob was extremely loose, almost coming off in his hand. With the smaller bathroom, we also had problems with the pop up plug. 10 Cove View is a really lovely property, it just needs a quick visit from a plumber and it would be perfect.

    We were disappointed to receive a negative review following your stay especially when our housekeeper had offered to visit the apartment to resolve the loose pop up plug fitting. Ordinarily this would be picked up during the checks pre arrival so apologies it wasn’t on this occasion. Since your visit, the issue has been checked and everything is now functioning as it should in the bathroom. The bathroom mirror isn’t heated however we found the light bulb isn’t coming on, therefore a replacement will be fitted asap. We hope it didn’t impact your stay too negatively. We always act on any negative feedback which fortunately is rare. Thank you for bringing the issues to our attention. Having a comfortable stay is our highest priority which is why we are investing in some additional improvements over the next couple of months. Property Owner

  • "10 Cove View is a beautiful property in the perfect location."

    The kitchen was well equipped and there was plenty of clothes storage space in the bedrooms. The decor was of showroom standard and the apartment was spotlessly clean, it smelt lovely as we walked through the door which was immediately re-assuring. The view over the cove was lovely, perfect for enjoying your morning brew. The property is on a bit of a slope which isn’t ideal if you struggle with mobility but it didn’t bother us at all. Parking is easy and directly over the road. I would highly recommend this accommodation if you’re looking to visit Ilfracombe.

There are quite a few hills around this part of the coastline which although challenging for some, make the area very picturesque.   • "As usual Sykes Cottages did not let us down, and 10CV had every thing we needed which was perfectly clean and tidy which made the holiday very comfortable."

    Although we were initially looking for a cottage type accommodation, the location of 10CV was ideal for the town of Ilfracombe and as a base for the surrounding area - the parking situation was particularly good. This was our second holiday with Sykes for me (age 85) and my grandson (age 19). I look forward to more such holidays.

  • "A beautifully presented apartment with lovely furnishings, fully equipped kitchen should you want to self cater and very comfy beds which made our stay even more relaxing."

    The standard of cleaning was also excellent so hats off to the cleaning team. It was an ideal location for venturing on foot to the eateries and bars, harbour and beaches. We would highly recommend a stay and should we visit the area again we would not hesitate to re-book here. Thank you for making our stay so pleasurable.

  • "The reason for 4 stars is the dreadfully creaking floor boards."

    When in bed down stares it is impossible to sleep for the noise of creaking floor boards if people are walking about up stares. Otherwise we were very happy with the very well equipped and clean apartment.

Being coastal with changing humidity the oak flooring does creak which unfortunately is not something we can eliminate and would require changing to carpet or tiles.   • "We have had a lovely holiday at 10 Cove View."

    The property is modern, clean and comfortable. It is very close to the seafront and only a few minutes walk to the harbour and Tunnels beaches. There are plenty of cafes, pubs and restaurants nearby. I had a couple of questions for the owner during our stay which were answered promptly. I would stay at 10 Cove View again.

  • "The location of this property is perfect for accessing all the amenities of the town."

    It is bright, spacious and beautifully furnished with everything you need for a self catering holiday and is close to the best restaurants for eating out. The parking spaces are a bonus and very close to the property, making loading and unloading easy. Everything in this property is of good quality including the beds and bathrooms,making a stay here relaxing and very comfortable. The two showers and bath was great to see. I would definitely recommend 10 Cove View to others.

  • "Perhaps iterate the bin store looks like its in a properties back garden."

    Really like the extra keys, so we could all have a set. The key safe could do with being replaced, terrible hard to open. Bed,s and linens superb also walkin shower very good. Please find a lemon squeezer for the kitchen cupboard.

The key safe is in perfect working order and doesn't need replacing, it is likely that the buttons were not fully pressed (they need to click to operate the safe). 2 lemon squeezers have now been purchased.     The result was that clothing smelled. Cleaning equipment should be stored elsewhere away from the bedroom.

  • "This is a lovely, beautifully appointed apartment."

    The location is second to none, with the front window looking over tunnels beach, and the back over the harbour. The front has a small balcony that catches the evening sun, before the sun sets over the sea. It is just off Fore Street, with a great choice of pubs and restaurants. The apartment was spotless and freshly decorated. Will definitely return!

  • "10 Cove View is in a great location; very close to the sea-front with private parking (which must be a real bonus in busy times)."

    The equipment is extensive and of good quality so if you decide to a lot of cooking then you will find everything is available (food processor etc). The entertainment facilities include a Playstation and the TV has all Sky packages plus Netflix so you are not stuck with nothing to do on rainy days. The place was really clean and we even had a lovely welcome pack which included some fizz! (nice touch). Thanks.

10 Cove View is a stunning ground floor coastal apartment with dual aspect views towards the sea, Capstone, Landmark Theatre and Hillsborough coastline.

It’s perfectly positioned in the heart of the seaside town of Ilfracombe and has the benefit of two allocated parking spaces in the nearby private car park, ideal for families or two couples, a rarity for properties of this size in the town.

Recently refreshed with new flooring throughout the ground floor, from the moment you step inside the hallway, you find a bright, spacious and contemporary furnished lounge with luxury sofas, TV, radio, PS4, games, books, Nest smart heating system and sky broadband.

Californian shutters, crisp white walls, high ceilings and its east-west facing position, give an added sense of light and space which flows through the floor to ceiling windows and patio doors and continues into the dining area and kitchen.

Balconies on both sides allow you to enjoy stunning views and sunshine all day as you step out with your morning coffee to the rear offering views of the Hillsborough coastal path.

Downstairs lies two very comfortable spacious bedrooms, the luxury master king-sized bedroom is on the lower ground floor with beautiful with high quality bed and linen, TV, en-suite shower room and walk in wardrobe (containing body boards, iron and board and hairdryer).The excellent ground floor twin bedroom has quality pocket sprung divans (with a zip/link option for a super king on request), beautiful bed linen and a patio door to the rear courtyard garden.

The impressive main bathroom suite is also rear facing on the ground floor, with a deep bathtub and large shower to enjoy a long soak from a day on the beach or walk along the famous South west coastal path.

This apartments excellent location has everything within a few minutes walk such as restaurants, cafes, pubs, shops, the promenade and harbour with its boat trips to Lundy and the Ilfracombe sea safari, Damien Hirst's statue Verity, the Ilfracombe Aquarium and the historic Tunnels Beaches.

For keen surfers and those who are seeking the large expanses of sands that this coast is famous for, Woolacombe, Croyde and Staunton Sands are a short drive.Ilfracombe has its own golf course and there are more options within 10-15 mins drive towards Woolacombe.
