The property

Ellenor is a picture postcard cottage in the idyllic village of Malborough in Devon which is perfect for a family holiday or a get-together of family and friends.

Approaching the property along a picturesque country lane, the tranquillity of the cottage becomes apparent.

As you walk in through the front door, you can throw off your shoes and make your way into the welcoming sitting room which is the ideal space for guests to gather together and catch up on each other’s news.

The traditional ambience is obvious throughout with original features such as ornamental fireplaces, stone flooring, exposed brickwork and feature sash windows which all add up to create a really relaxing vibe.

There is an additional space in the form of an attractive snug where you can imagine curling up with a good book and getting away from it all.

When it’s time to eat, step into the spacious kitchen/diner which exudes a really rustic atmosphere and is somewhere that’s a delight to cook and socialise in.

The designated chef will be delighted with the well-equipped space and when it’s time to serve up, guests can gather around the country-style dining table and indulge in long, leisurely meals together.

If the sun is shining then there is a small but perfectly formed outside area with a bench, making it a relaxing place to hang out, soak up any sunshine and enjoy time together alfresco.

At bedtime, choose from four well-appointed bedrooms which offer a great combination of beds, so there should be a bedroom to suit everyone including a double, a master double with en-suite facilities, a family room with a double and a single and a single bedroom which completes the accommodation.

Waking up in the morning, and you’re already in a superb location for getting out and about exploring.

Take a stroll into the delightful village of Malborough which has a few fantastic traditional pubs and a post office to stock up on any holiday essentials.

The nearby town of Kingsbridge is worth visiting with ferry excursions along the Kingsbridge Estuary to Salcombe, which is also well worth a trip particularly if you’re a watersports enthusiast.

Beaches at South Sands and North Sands are great for a family day out with road trips to towns such as Totnes and Plymouth highly recommended.

Plymouth has plenty to offer visitors and is home to the National Marine Aquarium and the hugely popular Barbican Quay while Totnes is an enchanting market town in the heart of the South Devon Area of Natural Outstanding Beauty.

Ellenor is a rustic property that offers beautifully presented accommodation and promises guests a memorable visit.

Note: The stairs to the first-floor are steep but have a handrail. Note: There are some steps within the property and in keeping with the age of the property, there are sloping ceilings upstairs so please bear this in mind when booking

PLEASE NOTE - There is no parking at the property but nearby parking can be found outside the Post Office or at the nearby Village Hall. Please be respectful of neighbours access.
