  • "Lovely cottage."

    Really comfy with plenty of room. The kitchen diner is really big with fully stocked kitchen and plenty of cupboard space. The garden is perfect if you have a dog, it is fully enclosed and safe with a lot of room for your dog to run around. It was easy to find and in a perfect location. We went on lots of lovely walks including Meldon Resevior and Dartmoor. We will definitely stay here again.

  • "It was very comfortable and all the appliances were easy to use."

    The hosts were friendly and helpful. Okehampton was about 15 minutes drive away and there was a good variety of walks there especially in Simmons Park. I found the local people very friendly. There were towels, a hairdryer and wifi.

  • "Lovely bungalow."

    So well equipped and extremely comfortable. Will most certainly be recommending to family and friends. If you drink coffee or hot drinks with sugar please ensure you take with you. I would suggest taking at least basic provisions with you as the nearest super store is about 30-40 minutes away. You can reach beautiful beaches at Westward Ho and Bude within an hour. Once you manage to navigate the narrow lanes onto the main A roads the drives are pleasant to some very pretty places worth visiting. We loved our stay as did our pouch. Overall a wonderful experience.

  • "Lovely rental, in fact had the bungalow been for sale the owners might have just met their buyer!"

    The bungalow is clean, comfy, light and airy. Well equipped kitchen, lovely bath and shower rooms, laundry facilities, smart TV's, patio furniture, secure gardens for dog /children. No immediate footpath walks from the bungalow, lane walks only as far as we discovered -however our itinerary was driving out to places of interest each day so we didn't get to really explore the village and it's amenities ourselves. One note, there are two keysafes, after a long tiring journey to arrive, I only discovered the wrong keysafe, so had a little drama. The right keysafe is through the gate, by the front door, as the instructions advise! I was tired saw a keysafe and the arrival instructions left my brain, hope this confession helps you not make the same mistake. Book it and enjoy, this area of Devon.

  • "This accommodation was one of the best we have stayed at."

  • "Gill and Tim are great hosts, the cottage was spot on, very well equipped to a high standard, added bonus of having a EV charger which worked perfectly for us."

  • "Lovely property, would stop again, well maintained and luxurious."

    Garden fully enclosed both back and front which our dog enjoyed. Only minor comments and these are minor are that it could do with a couple of door stops to prevent living room doors slamming if front and back doors are open. Also no hoover to use.

  • "The bungalow had everything you need for a great stay The owners had left and lovely cream tea, which was very welcome."

    Beds were very comfortable Lounge was spacious as was the kitchen/ dinner ( loved the kitchen)

  • "West View is a spacious and comfortable cottage, well equipped and presented."

    It makes a great base to explore North Devon and Dartmoor while offering a quiet rural setting. We were able to walk to local pubs in Northlew, Bratton Clovelly and Hatherleigh on quiet, small roads and Abbeyford Woods has parking for a walk to Okehampton. Gill and Tim were great hosts who were easily contacted.

  • "Absolutely amazing property, so nicely done out to a very high standard."

    Everything was thought of and we didn't want for anything. The beds and bedding were very comfortable. The location was wonderful and very peaceful. I've stayed in a lot of holiday rentals and this is one of the best. Thanks to Tim and Gill for the extra thoughtful honey (delicious) and the extra bits so we could have a cup of tea after a 9 hour journey! Would definitely stay again.

HATHERLEIGH

Okehampton 7 miles.

Northlew is a Devon village on the edge of Dartmoor. It has an attractive main square surrounded by traditional buildings, some of them thatched; just off the square are a pub, and Post Office. There is also a travelling organic shop which comes into the town square every Friday between 10am-12pm where you can stock up on some essentials. The village is 5 miles west of the ancient town of Hatherleigh, consisting of cob and thatch cottages situated in the heart of rural Devon. Hatherleigh lies in the Torridge Valley just seven miles from the edge of the Dartmoor National Park, and is a wonderful central location for the coast to coast long distance trail, which includes the popular Tarka Trail. The town itself offers a varied selection of interesting craft shops, country inns and cafes. Within driving distance are Okehampton Castle, the beautiful RHS Rosemoor Gardens at Torrington, and even to the dramatic surfing beaches around Bude. Hatherleigh’s central position makes it an ideal location from which to explore this area of Devon.
