  • "General clean was not the best."

The hot water is far too hot and need adjusting as my husband burnt his hand. Refuse was not collected therefore had to remove rubbish ourselves as him was very full when we arrived. Good left in the freezer. Location great Mattresses maybe need a little upgrade but in general loved our vacation as locals with family

  • "Cottage was lovely and very comfortable."

However I think the water temperature needs turning down as both the adults burnt themselves when washing up!

  • "We had a wonderful week at Eddystone Row."

Two families with children aged between 5 and 14. Space, facilities and location of the property were perfect with the added bonus of the weather for the end of October/start of November being much better than expected. The kitchen has clearly been equipped by someone who cooks and we didn’t find ourselves needing anything when we cooked at home. Beds were comfy, as were the sofas for lounging about in the evenings and the split levels of the house meant we never felt on top of each other and the children were able to spread out doing their individual things. Salcombe delivered as always. We enjoyed long walks to south sands, lunch at the winking prawn, dinner at Dick and Wills and the Crab Shed and a couple of lazy afternoons in the distillery bar!!! Our only suggestion would be to consider if a parking permit could be provided for a second car as in low season the road was full of spaces we couldn’t use. Will definitely consider this property when we come to salcombe again.

  • "We enjoyed our holiday."

It is a great property. Well appointed kitchen and the seating was very comfortable. We would suggest a coffee machine might be a good idea. We were seven adults so a dedicated drinks fridge would have been useful. We found it difficult to get our towels dry in the bathroom downstairs so having the heater rail on would be better. Thank you

  • "We had a great week at 3 Eddystone Row, the location was perfect as a short walk into the centre of Salcombe but a nice quiet area so the best of both worlds."

There is also a Co-Op just around the corner which was really handy. The house was really good, lots of space and nicely fitted out. We have a 3.5 year old and even though there are a lot of stairs it was no issue for him, the backyard was also great as he could run around and play.

  • "Lovely house in a quiet road, with a pleasant walk into the town center."

We stayed here in 2015, still the same high standard.of comfort and cleanliness We had great sunny weather and although it was very windy we found places to sit out of the wind to enjoy the sun's warmth and the magnificent views of the coast.

  • "We had a fabulous stay especially as the property was near to the town centre with only a small hill to negotiate on the way back which my 94 year old mother managed fairly easily."

If we went to Salcombe again, this would definitely be our first choice as it had parking and was so well appointed.

  • "We really enjoy staying at this property its position and layout is excellent for our family group."

Just a couple of points worth noting :- A number of crockery items were chipped and the lounge furniture seemed to moult feathers. The weather was kind to us and we had a very nice holiday. We have stayed at 3 Eddystone Row several times before and hope to return again next year.

This is only a minor detail but may bother others especially if 8 staying. It’s a great house & great location. Sykes team were great with customer service.

And beautifully maintained. The beds are small but comfortable. The outdoor furniture isn’t great as whole garden on a slope but fine for kids.

Thank you for leaving us your feedback. We were delighted to read that the property was comfortable and provided you with everything you required during your stay. • "We really enjoyed our stay."

Suggested future improvements: - replace the kitchen tap with one which reaches better into the sinks; - reduce the number of wine glasses provided (34 seemed excessive!) to released more storage space; - provide more small microwave and oven ware; - ease the front door lock, which intermittently is very difficult to secure; - flatten an area of the rear garden to accommodate usage and a seating area; - seal the decking to the first floor external balcony, so that rain water does not drip through onto the patio below (outside the GF bedroom); - fix the catch to the glass door at the steps on the FF balcony (currently the noise from loose gate is a source of irritation to the neighbours); - provide a key and instructions to open the garage door; provide a radio and MP3 music player.

  • "The property is lovely, very modern and really is great for a holiday in Salcombe."

It is close to the town and offers a relaxing place to stay. A few things that I think need to be changed in order to really make this property even better. Observations which would improve the property even more: 1) Full length mirrors in the bedrooms as there was no mirror in the master bedroom 2) The mirror in the bathroom downstairs is very high on the wall 3) We took our own stair gate as we have a little boy but we needed two as there are two sets of stairs off the kitchen and sitting room. It may be worth fitting the retractable Babydan stair gates as we have these at home and they are great plus don't get in the way...as the property provides a highchair and travel cot...gates would also be good. 4) There were TV points in the bedroom but no TV...when the property sleeps 8 people, TVs in the rooms would be better. 5) One of the light switches for the main bathroom is behind the wardrobe in the master bedroom...? 6) The shower trays in the en-suite bathrooms are a pain as they overflow...I know they look good but they aren't practical. Please don't see these as complaints as they most definitely aren't - the house is amazing but when you stay somewhere for a week, you notice opportunities to make the place even better. A few changes and this really would be 5 star :-)
