"The property is comfortable with great beds and no shortage of bathrooms."
The en-suite to the main bedroom has a great power shower that runs from the boiler. The apartment has great views, was very clean and is really well furnished and was in a great location for us. We wouldn't recommend it for people that have mobility issues since it's up several flights of stairs and the surroundings are quite hilly. Overall a really great place to stay.

We will return. Perfect for walkers. Wifi not consistent. Unfortunately the bathrooms require a deep clean to remove patches of mould. The large shower head in the largest en-suite was totally covered in black mould, quickly rectified by Sykes staff, but then it started persistent dripping, day and night until we left. Thank you for the use of your lovely apartment.

"The property was very spacious as a solo occupant, and was very well appointed with equipment for cooking although I didn't do any during my stay."
Cleaning was to a high standard, the bed was comfortable and I slept well even during some windy December nights. The only negative was arriving back on Christmas Eve evening to find the occupants of one of the other apartments had parked in my allocated space but after knocking on some doors I found who's vehicle it was and they moved it. This wasn't something the property owner or Sykes could have expected to happen and there were no further occurrences for the remainder of my stay.

"We absolutely loved our stay at Grafton Towers."
The apartment was clean, spacious, comfortable and the views are amazing! The area is lovely and quiet, but it's only a short walk (approx ten mins) to South Sands or North Sands beach. NT Overbeck is also nearby and well worth a visit. The apartment is well equipped and worked well for our family holiday. We will definitely be back!

Forget the car,numerous walks to hills and cliff tops with two beaches nearby led to another great stay at Grafton. Been many times but never tire of its commanding appeal .

Every small need was thought about from a wetsuit to an insulated beach bag! It was spotlessly clean too which we really appreciated. Love the walk straight from the front door to South Sands and along the coastline to Bolt's Head and Soar Mill Cove. Truly inspiring :-)

However, one needs to be pretty fit to tackle the walk into Salcombe and back. It's not for the 'faint-hearted'!! Very steep hills. Only a couple of points to make: It was a shame that during our stay there was scaffolding erected which did spoil our view from the living room and bedrooms. On booking, we were not notified that any maintenance work was being carried out. Although, we did not see any work-persons during our stay. Additionally, the larger shower head in the bathroom of the main bedroom (the one with the 4-poster bed) was covered in black mould. We tried to clean as much as we could but avoided using this device. The office within Salcombe was notified. Please note that I have marked the cleanliness option down only due to the shower head, the rest of the property was spotless and very well equipped.

"The flat was gorgeous!"
Spacious. Clean. Beds so comfy and the bedding was divine. The views - well - best ever! The glass coffee table was a bit of a hazard because if it’s size and construction-whacked out kegs a few times. My only real complaint was that we were not informed of the scaffolding outside the front of the flat. Whilst appreciating that work needs to done - a heads up would have been nice. Sitting on the little balcony admiring the view with scaffolding and builders hammering wasn’t the best.

"The apartment was beautiful and we really ejoyed returning to it."
The problem was the narrow roads up and down to the beach which were sometimes very busy. The two flights of stairs was challenging at first but we got used to it.

The only comment I would like to make is about the laundry room. The tumble dryers did not appear to work. I have a Miele appliance at home, very efficient and quick to dry, so am familiar with how to use them. After over 2 hours, the clothes were still damp. Normally, this wouldn't be an issue as washing could be done at home, but we were moving on to a new location for the following week, so it was inconvenient and all drying racks were in use.

From instruction sheets it appeared that the fridge had been replaced with one without a freezer cabinet. No baking equipment for the oven. We had to buy a suitable dish to roast a chicken.

"We have been visiting 6 Grafton Towers for a number of years and feel that some certain aspects of it need to be looked at."
We have seen a decline in the cleanliness of the apartment and the access areas to it. As an example, on a number of occasions in the comments book other users have mentioned the “cushions” which are threadbare and the sofas do need a good clean. Prices have gone up accordingly but has never deterred us from rebooking, but we feel at the moment that the prices are rising and the standards are dropping on this particular visit. We always leave the apartment in a very clean condition but feel that this is never acknowledged by Coast & Country, perhaps a phone call to us to reassure our comments are being taken into account, but once again these comments would not deter us from rebooking with you.

"We had a lovely holiday at no."
6 Grafton Towers, which is a comfortable and well equipped apartment. We enjoyed the peaceful position, the views and the walking this allowed us to do, (generally avoiding using the car whilst on our holiday). The South West coast path is very accessible and we enjoyed the hilly but beautiful walk into Salcombe too. We would definitely book this apartment again.

"Don't know why I booked with Sykes cottages but had to deal with Coastal cottages."
It was not explained that this property is a 30 minute walk up and down hills on an unlit road just wide enough for one car.with no footpath to the town.We spent a fortune on taxis. I would not have booked this property if the location had been properly explained. When I conveyed this to Coastal cottages they could not have been more unhelpful.(We've got your money,you booked it, tough) A second floor property with no seperate fire exit was also a concern. I would suggest that more research is carried out by Sykes cottages before renting unsuitable locations. A wasted week,thanks very much. Actually a wasted six days,we left a day early disappointed and disgusted.

The property
Each one of the Grafton Towers apartments have been individually designed to the highest standards and occupies an enviable position within Salcombe, situated between North Sands and South Sands beaches.
6 Grafton Towers is a spacious second floor apartment with sea views over the estuary to Prawle Point.
The bespoke kitchen has oak fittings, polished granite worktops, Kuppersbusch appliances including a ceramic hob and oven, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and microwave. The open planned sitting / dining room is light and airy, with a table seating six to eight people, a large corner sofa and Smart TV. Both bedrooms have views over the water and en suites with shower, hand basin, w.c, shaver point and heated towel rail.
One bedroom features a four poster bed whilst the other is King-sized.
In addition to the two en-suites is a cloakroom with a w.c and hand basin.
Outside there is a good-sized balcony with breathtaking panoramic sea views, table and chairs.
There is also a large communal landscaped garden and sun terrace to enjoy the summer sunshine.
Guests may also make use of the communal laundry room containing washing machines and tumble dryers.

SALCOMBE
Kingsbridge 7 miles; Dartmouth 21 miles; Plymouth 24 miles; Paignton 26 miles.
Salcombe is a popular destination for walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea and was once a major port. There are two pretty beaches within a short distance, North Sands and South Sands and further on is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including surfing, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe you must take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking, including the South West Coast path.
