• "Had a lovely stay here."

  Very clean and very accommodating. Only problems were that we couldn't get the bath to work and my bed had a very bumpy mattress. But I still loved staying there.

  I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. We're getting the mattress checked out and will replace if required. The bath is working, unfortunately the cleaner tells me it can be a little fiddly to get started, sorry about that. We'll see what we can do to make it easier. • "This property was not up to the sykes standard that i have previously experienced."

  The cleanliness was not brilliant, there were hairs in the 'clean' beds, looked like pet hairs. There was no wifi, no welcome booklet, as in previous properties. No clothes horse to dry beach towels on. Outlook was onto a building site. However, The shower was very good. In all quite disappointing.

  I am genuinely surprised at this feedback. We have a professional local cleaner who maintains the property to a high standard, consistent with the regular feedback we receive. With regards to 'pet hairs' the apartment has never been booked with pets and the cleaner doesn't own one! There has been a welcome booklet in place so can only apologise that it was missing. The wifi is open, no password, you can stand outside the apartment and connect...There is not a clothes horse in the apartment but there is a heated towel rail in the bathroom which would certainly do the job. If you booked Westbeach Resort via Booking.com, there would be premium charge for a partial view as there no buildings between the resort and the magnificent Westward Ho coastline. We don't charge that premium. Unfortunately I can't post a photo of the outlook but I don't agree with the description of a building site, from the balcony you can see holiday chalets and at the furthest point on land, a new build, and beyond, the sea... • "The property was beautiful, presented well and very clean."

  The whole process was problem free and easy to access. Beds were comfortable and there were lots of little extras that made the apartment very special. We will be back Only one minuscule thing that I would possibly change, maybe some nicer pillows as were very flat and no spares but this is personal choice and easy to bring our own if need be. Thanks again for a lovely welcome stay

• "Yes I sent a list of problems to caretaker, Dish washer didn't work fridge made constant noises , freezer did after one day."

  Bed double was rock hard and lumpy , the doors to both patios were dirty couldn't see through. TV no netflix.or free view. Contacted caretaker no she didn't k ow what to do it was not connected to wi fi. Kitchen cups cracked , one toilet roll (half) only , duvet had brown mark on it ? Didn't use other beds as on my own due to you not changing dates which I requested. I came home after two nights as I found the place shabby and depressing due to no sleep in double bed. The property on whole is not as described, building surrounding are in need of demolishing, building work opposite noisy when arrived Friday fortunately I did not stay after bank holiday. A waste of my money and I will never use your services again as I was told by the caretaker owner lives abroad and that I should have had the dates I requested in july/August as they were available, albeit I would have been more than angry paying double in that month.

  Unfortunately I expected negative feedback from this guest from the moment I refused their request to switch dates. The guest was holding a prime bank holiday week booking at a bargain price, under £600, and wanted a switch to an August week that would have cost me, the cleaner and Sykes the May booking as it was already too late to get a replacement booking. The August dates were available but will fill up as its peak season. If the guest had been reasonable and made the request early enough to allow for a new booking, they would have been accommodated. The other complaints were investigated, and whilst there was one cracked mug that had been supplied as new this year, it is clear that the other items have been mentioned simply to create some noise around the frustration of not getting the booking transfer request.
