Second time at Widmouth Farm, fantastic cottage with sea views, access to coastal path and private beach was fab, enclosed exercise field for the dog was great, the pathways cut into the field was an added bonus and the views were breathtaking, very chilled out holiday and so lucky with the weather, would stay again if returning to North Devon
-
"Such a beautiful place to stay, relaxing and dog friendly."
The cottage was clean and tidy, would definitely stay there again
-
"Wonderful property."
Cosy with everything you could need plus more. The setting is quite beautiful, the animals are friendly - it's not often you feed Alpacas- the coastal park is literally on your doorstep and many great locations are a short drive. To sum up its quite idyllic.
-
"Such a welcoming place and lovely location- close to lots to do but also felt lovely and rural, with a beautiful little beach and stunning walks."
It is a beautiful place and we loved feeding the animals!

"What an amazing place!"
No, it's not got all the mod-cons that some may like but it's got charm in abundance. It's perfectly situated with access to a private and sheltered cove (where the children could swim and paddleboard), the farm was well-kept with friendly alpacas and goats that we could hand feed and 2 funny geese! Our cottage wasn't large but it was big enough for us and we loved the paintings, the curtains and the cushions (my 13 year old and me to put that). We loved it and would love to come back with family who could stay in the other cottages.
-
"Stunning location, picture postcard views."
Lovely cottage with log burner, beautifully decorated and with everything we needed for our perfect holiday.
-
"Very clean and comfortable cottage."
The grounds are immaculate and very restorative and peaceful. We loved the animals and private beach access. Hope to return.

"This is our 3rd visit to Widmouth Farm Cottages - we love it and have recommended it to several friends."
The area is beautiful and the cottages are delightful. The property owners are also really lovely and helpful. I’m sure we’ll be back because we, our friends and the 2 dogs had another wonderful week.

"Location and views was excellent."
Furnishings attractive and beds comfortable. Crockery, cutlery and glassware a little disappointing, but this didn't detract from our very enjoyable stay.
-
"Lovely owners and the perfect place for a Famous Five adventure!"
Our 5 year old, dog and adults loved it. Thank you.
-
"We absolutely loved this place; the cottage was very cute, its surroundings were stunning and the little private cove was a major plus for us!"
The downside though, was the internet connection which was more often than not, unavailable. That, and the fact that we could not get any mobile reception on the farm, was a problem on this occasion. Having said that, we hope to return again very soon.

"Absolutely loved this place Superb"

"Really good liaison and communication with the owners direct, but VERY poor communication with Sykes cottages."
-
"The scenery and the location were fantastic."
The cottage was clean and comfortable and the owners on site were very helpful. We had a fantastic time and would highly recommend it.

"Location is stunning."
Views from cottages over watermouth bay are beautiful and sunset from top of Alpaca hill is as beautiful as any sunset I’ve ever seen.

"Pheasant Cottage is set up for 6 people."
However the hot water supply is completely inadequate. There is enough hot water for one shower in the morning and one in the afternoon, and to do small amounts of washing up. We thought there was as a problem and spoke to the owner, only to be told (I’m paraphrasing here) “that’s the way it is”. It was hard to contact the owners as well - often no one would answer the phone, they asked us to contact them via Facebook but due to the intermittent Wi-fi we couldn’t get online (it’s remote so there was poor phone signal). Corona virus, meant you, understandably, couldn’t go to their house in person. It’s a great location, the cottage is warm and very comfy, the animal feeding is great and the beach is amazing.

"It was a great location and loved the setting."
The cottage was very comfortable and feeding the lamas being an added bonus. The walks and beach are close making it nice to do anytime of the day or as the sun is going down. Would highly recommend.

"The cottage was lovely."
We have stayed before in the cottage next door, and this one for us is much better as it has sea views from the garden and a nice grassy area which was great for our dog. We loved sitting there looking out over the fields and animals and sea. Description of little to no phone signal and Wi-fi is correct. We could get the Wi-fi sat in the garden or the picnic benches in the courtyard.

This is our second time at Pheasant Cottage, as before the cottage was clean with a well stocked kitchen (if you're planning on doing a lot of cooking

"My family and I had a really lovely holiday over the Easter weekend."
Pheasant cottage is recently refurbished and is beautiful - clean, comfortable and stylish. The whole farm is so relaxed and welcoming and the sea views are beautiful. My boys loved feeding the farm animals and the owners were friendly, helpful and very welcoming. We walked down to the private beach a few times and spent a good few hours skimming stones, crabbing and fishing (no success, but fun anyway!) Close proximity to lots of lovely coves and the long sandy beach of Woolacombe. I would thoroughly recommend this cottage and would visit again. Thanks.

"It would have been good to have had an upstairs toilet."

"Friendly and helpful owners."
Beautiful and tranquil location. Ideal for families as well as couples.

"This was our first time visiting Berrynarbor with our young spaniel."
Couldn't have wished for better. Accommodation was spotless, bed was very comfy and Pleasant Cottage has the most fantastic views. We could happily have moved in and never gone back home. The animals on the grounds is great for young children with the added bonus of it's own little beach cove.

"This was a fabulous mini break in beautiful surroundings."
The accommodation is excellent and very comfortable (especially the beds!). The farm is in an ideal location for striking out across North Devon, although there is plenty to keep you occupied on the site too. The private beach is great and there are walks along the coastline. We loved feeding the animals each morning (as well as collecting the eggs) and it was a real hit with our little boy. We booked Pheasant Cottage as the site seemed an ideal place to bring a toddler - which it was. Equally, it would be great for families with older children or adults too. We'd have no hesitation in recommending Widmouth Farm Cottages. It was a warm welcome (complete with cream tea) and a wonderful stay. Everything is well thought through and the owners ensure a care-free stay. Bring your wellies!

"The cottage is wonderful!"
Great location, close to the private beach and just a short drive to others. The farm manager, Mike, is a very friendly and helpful guy and shared his knowledge of the farm and surrounding areas willingly. It was a fabulous holiday and we will definitely be back

With spectacular sea views, a private beach and 35 acres of beautiful headland to wander through, this really is a perfect setting for a holiday cottage. The owners, who live on the farm along with their sheep, goats, alpacas, pigs, chickens and ducks, provide a huge welcome to guests who just love to help at animal feeding time, walking their dog along the coast path or just relaxing on the private beach, just 500 yards from the cottages. The beach reveals a large sandy expanse at low tide when you can swim, fish or walk around to Watermouth Harbour and return on the coast path with stunning views across the bay. The cottages are beautifully presented; some have sea views and share the play area, dog exercise field, laundry facilities and picnic area where you could spend hours relaxing with some locally-sourced goodies whilst gazing at the spectacular sea views and glorious sunsets over Samson’s Bay. The cottages are a couple of miles from the unspoilt village of Berrynarbor, with a welcoming pub and village shop. Explore Watermouth Castle, the award-winning Tunnels beach and Combe Martin Wildlife Park, all of which are close to the cottages. Alternatively, visit Ilfracombe, where Damian Hirst's Verity statue rests above the picturesque harbour, and the bustling seafront has many good-quality restaurants and bars, along with small independent shops. If you can tear yourself away from the splendid setting of Widmouth Farm and its private beach, then the three mile long sandy beach at Woolacombe, which holds the England for Excellence Gold Award for best family resort and was voted the Best British Beach in the Mail On Sunday, is a short drive away. This really is a truly stunning location to spend relaxation time with your four-legged friends.
