  • "Forever Summer is a cosy, comfortable and clean house, in a conveniently situated location, only a short walk from the High Street."

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. However, we felt as four aging adults, we would have liked an additional comfortable chair in the lounge. We had difficulty with programming the television with BT box, as there were no instructions, and only managed it on our final night. Also there were no instructions regarding rubbish collection. I would recommend the property, and stay again when in the area.

Dear John Thankyou so much for your lovely review. I appreciate your feedback - and will amend the instruction book accordingly! We will happily welcome you to stay again! Thanks so much Hollie and Janey Property Owner

  • "This property is really nicely decorated and equipped."

It has parking (probably easiest for one car only due to the telegraph pole) and is only 5 minutes walk into Lymington. We have stayed several times due to it's convenient location near to a relative. There are just a couple of niggles though. One is that the temperature for the shower in the top room can't be turned down more than a degree as the mechanism is jammed. So, if you don't like very hot showers you have to use the other ensuite. That is inconvenient and bot always possible. We have mentioned this before in a private message to the owners via Sykes cottages but it hasn't been dealt with, which is a shame. The other thing is that there are no instructions for the TV and BT box so it is difficult to work out how to use it. Finally there was no welcome pack which is very unusual. Just a small pack with some essentials like bread and milk, biscuits or a bottle of wine is common and makes your guests happy. If these things were sorted out then it would definitely means 5 stars across the board.

  • "Forever Summer has a lovely tranquil ambience, but is let down by some easily fixed issues."

The kitchen isn't very well equipped- eg no bread knife There is no guest book- I love to read other guests views, eg good places to visit, eat with dogs Though dog friendly, could be much better eg, recommend local places to walk without getting in car (Buckland Ring was lovely and within 10 mins), and dog friendly beaches. Also I think it would be very easy to dog proof the garden - just not the will No welcome pack- I can't remember the last place that didn't bother with at least milk, and more.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave feedback. There was a bread knife in the kitchen so I can only assume it was damaged and disposed of during a stay previously, I do apologise. We have tried to dog proof the garden but sadly it has a few issues with access and would cause considerable disruption and cost - This is why we love to accept doggies but make it clear it’s not 100% dog proof outside. So many properties locally are not dog friendly, so we’ve tried our best to make ours as friendly as possible - within the limits we have. There is a huge selection of brochures as well as a welcome guide detailing all the local areas and walks, things to do. This is in the blue folder which is always left on the table by our wonderful cleaning team. We are glad you enjoyed the stay and the area thankyou for your feedback. Property Owner

  • "Lovely stay at the property and as described."

Only issue was that the downstairs tv kept losing signal. The only other comment I would make is perhaps a few pegs for the outside line would be handy. A great place to stay in Lymington and explore the surrounding areas.

Thank you so much for your absolutely lovely review! I’d not experienced that issue with that tv so thank you for bringing it to my attention and great feedback about the pegs - I shall get some sorted. Come and stay again soon! Hollie and Janey Property Owner

  • "Acceptable standard but a little disappointing."

Although stated in the brochure, the garden is not dog safe. There was no welcome pack or kitchen roll. There were no pegs to hang out the washing, yet a roller line was provided. In the general folder, unusually there was nothing regarding what days the dustbins were emptied or how to recycled cartons etc should be sorted. Yet we did find bags for recycling AFTER the dustbin men had been round.

Hi there Thanks so much for your feedback. We do clearly state that the garden is not dog secure - we want to ensure our visitors know that so our four legged visitors are kept safe at all times. We do have a full clothes drying rack in the cupboard for your use so you can dry clothes easily and inside - it doesn't require any pegs. And our wonderful cleaners clear the premises of all rubbish so you do not have to worry about certain bin days. We otherwise hope you had a wonderful stay with us and got some good weather! • "We had a fantastic week at Forever Summer."

The property is exactly like the pictures - clean, comfortable and tastefully furnished. The garden was lovely for relaxing in. The house is a short walk from the centre of Lymington with its wide range of shops and restaurants. We ate out every night and especially recommend The Monkey Brewhouse, Eat Pizza, The Sail Inn and Ship Inn. The house is also within a short drive of many lovely places, with the Isle of Wight ferry close by. We definitely recommend Forever Summer and would love to stay there again.

  • "Weeds growing out of front drive + old car tyre leaning against fence didn’t give the place a good feel on arrival."

The glass roof on living room I don’t think had been cleaned inside or out for quite sometime making it an eyesore.(really dirty outside full of spiders and cob webs inside) The garden was overgrown and full of weeds and the outside furniture not clean or used for sometime. Don’t think it was really a dog friendly place the garden was to small, lucky there was a park near by. Shower on first floor was blocked water didn’t drain and most skirting boards were covered with dust don’t think they had been cleaned for sometime very disappointing for a place that was advertised as 5 star?

Thank you for taking the time to let us know your thoughts. With back-to-back bookings, it unfortunately can be challenging to attend to weeds. We take pride in ensuring everything is to standard, including cleanliness and maintenance, as many other reviews point out, and can assure you the cleaner would have attended immediately if you had only contacted them using the details provided to you. We're sorry you thought the garden was too small for your needs; the property certainly is dog-friendly, and the size of the garden is visible from the images on the website, so this is clear prior to booking. The property has never been advertised as a 5-star establishment, however it is very nicely presented, and in a great location, as many of our guests have told us. Property Owner

  • "The property was excellently located; a short walk into Lymington and with pubs (the Borough Arms and the Monkey Brewhouse) located at the end of Lower Buckland Road."

The property was exceptionally clean - very high standards maintained with this. The beds were also extremely comfortable, the kitchen was extremely well equipped also. The downstairs area was really useful for cooking and then bringing to the table - this also has a small portable radiator which was extremely useful in the cold weather and where the conservatory looses heat very quickly. The modern interiors were lovely and the sunny extension was wonderful, even in rainy weather. There's plenty of storage space and the rooms have their own bathrooms which was extremely handy. The information packs were very thoughtfully laid out and had everything that we needed during our stay, including useful pointers on local places of interest. There were a few aspects that could use improvement. When we arrived the whole property was extremely cold and we had to leave the heating on for a long time for the property to heat up which was probably less than economical. There was a small portable radiator which did help but it might have been useful to have this on a remotely controlled timer for out of season guests to make sure it's not so cold on arrival but still make cost savings with it being switched off when empty. The first floor bathroom had an air evacuation flap which was loose and kept banging in the wind all through the night and also the shower temperature control was extremely difficult to control - stiff and very sensitive! In the top bedroom, we noticed half way through (as we weren't using that level) that the light was left on in the bathroom, probably during cleaning between residents. This is probably me being overly fussy as the kitchen was otherwise very well equipped, there wasn't an espresso machine which is usually found in most holiday properties (there was a french press though!). Finally, the cleaning supplies were quite limited (dishwasher tablets - we did leave some for the next guests which we purchased) and the cloths weren't really able to make sure we could wipe down properly before we left as requested in the check out pack. For future residents, I'd just be aware that the staircases are very steep. We attended with our dog and the poor thing did fall a couple of times because it was quite steep. Additionally, the garden isn't really very dog friendly, we were advised the back of the garden isn't fully enclosed which is fine. However, there is no grass and most dogs usually will only want to go on grass so if you are bringing a pooch, you might want to take them to the grassy patch a minute from the property in order to toilet.

Hi there Thank you so much for taking the time to review our property. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay and we appreciate your feedback. The stairs are on the steeper side - but have been equipped with grips to make them safe. We have had to create a garden that suits all guests - with four legged friends and without. Sadly, the positioning of the garden means very little grass grew. so we have been aware of wanting to make it as useable as possible! Overall though it sounds like you had a wonderful stay! Thanks so much for feeding back again Hollie & Jane Property Owner

  • "Top bedroom blinds didn't close properly, so we had to use the lower bedroom."

The shower in the lower bathroom didn't adjust properly for temperature, and a shower mat is needed in the shower as the floor is very slippery. Although a washing machine is provided, there was no airer , so in winter, washing can't be dried. Apart from those points, it was quite a nice place.

Hi there Thank you for taking the time to review us. We have noted all your feedback and will make some changes - of course we cant improve without knowing about your experience. We do have a number of a management company that can be called at any time - so we could have looked at any issues you were having and got them fixed during your stay. Thanks so much again and we hope you enjoyed Lymington! Edit: I just wanted to let you know we’ve taken your feedback on board and have had brand new blinds fitted, and also equipped the house with new shower mats, an airer and an iron and ironing board too so Thankyou for your response!
