"A very enjoyable stay at Kimberlin, quiet and secure gated location with parking for 1 car by the house appears to be other public parking just outside the gate."
The house is located next to Chesil beach and is a great spot for a walk by the sea, sit on the pebble beach or for drinks and or food at the local Cove Inn pub 200 metres away with indoor and outdoor seating. There is a cafe nearby ( Quiddles) if you fancy breakfast with a sea view subject to weather. The house is quite new, very clean and well maintained. Recommended.

"Amazing ! Fantastic property to stay in."
Very well equipped. A home from home. Clean, fresh and modern. Welcomed with a hamper of goodies. The location was great, just off Chesil beach. It was prefect for dog walks and evenings watching the sun set. Restaurants, pubs, take aways, cafe & shops all in walking distance. One allocated parking space which takes some maneuvering to get out of if the other spaces are occupied, but we managed. The second car we parked in the spaces opposite the gated entrance. We always found a space, sometimes we just had to be a little patient. We definitely will be back.

"Having owned our own holiday cottage for 9 years we are well aware of what is required in owning a holiday let."
Kimberlin is only about 3 years old but has its own charm. The cottage is well equipped and the welcome pack was outstanding. The house is very comfortable and well placed for the beach, some excellent eating places and Weymouth a short drive away. The patio is a suntrap and great for sitting or eating outdoors. Only thing I would improve is the number of mugs as only 8 and if, like us, you like a few hot drinks during the day the mugs are quickly all used. Parking is tight, especially if you have a long car as we do. Highly recommended.

"Lovely private Mews with parking, really necessary for where it is, everyone wants to park close to the Chesil beach."
The accommodation is modern, extremely clean and very comfortable, the owners had thought of everything we might need and there was a beautiful welcome basket with local Dorset goodies, so thoughtful thank you. We had a wonderful week and would definitely return and recommend it to others.

"Excellent place to stay, also weather was brilliant which helps."
So close to the beach, old cove pub was excellent also, great views from the heights, great morning breakfast place on the seafront 200 yards away. Great stay.

"We have just returned from an excellent stay at Kimberlin."
The property was extremely well-appointed to a high-spec, with everything to make a comfortable stay. It was also in a great location for enjoying the isle of Portland, Chesil Beach and Weymouth. Views over Chesil beach didn’t disappoint and Dorset provisions in the welcome pack were a lovely touch.

"We absolutely loved this property from the minute we arrived to the moment we left!"
The location was perfectly situated right by the beach. Parking for one car was provided, whilst ample free parking was available in the street outside the gated premises for any other cars. The house was clean and tastefully decorated with lots of room, storage, furniture, bedding, towels, gadgets, utensils and even games to play! The welcome hamper with lots of local produce was a lovely touch, thank you! Portland is a quiet, yet beautiful place to stay, not far from the hustle and bustle of beautiful Weymouth. We loved Kimberlin, and would highly recommend it to others. Thank you for helping to make our stay an enjoyable one!

"Lovely place to stay."
Very well-equipped and maintained. Plenty to see and do in the local area.

"Kimberlin is a lovely property in a great location and would definitely recommend."
Unfortunately Sykes take a payment then inform you of changes they have made. This happened twice and unfortunately there is nothing you can do once payment has been made. A little more consideration for customers is needed.

"This is the best holiday home we have stayed in."
It is beautifully furnished and immaculately clean. There is every amenity and even a fabulous welcome basket. The location is perfect for the beach and parking easy and super convenient. The house is just ideal and we would love to stay again sometime. Highly recommended

"Had a great week at the Kimberlin all the facilities you need for a great holiday."
Portland is a nice quiet location away from the bustle of Weymouth, and when the weather's right some lovely sunsets.

"We stayed at Kimberlin for a week over the Easter period, as a base for attending an event at the nearby Sailing Academy."
The location is perfect for that purpose - walking in about 20 minutes or a very quick drive. It's proximity to Chesil Beach is a great feature, and there are direct sea views from the top front bedroom. The house was spotlessly clean on arrival, and is well furnished with comfortable beds and sofas etc. We really enjoyed our stay, but there are a couple of points worth noting - these are factual rather than critical - there's nothing that the owners could do to address them! The development is a couple of years at most (probably less) and, as is the way the developers, they have crammed as many properties in a small space as they possibly could, so despite being a three bedroom property, the living areas (kitchen/living room) feel very cramped. We were two adults plus two late teenage children - and moving around the kitchen/dining table is "cosy" to say the least. There is only room for four chairs around the dining table (not sure what happens if 6 people book?), and you can't open the fridge/freezer doors fully without first closing the kitchen door. Over a week this did start to irritate. Likewise the on-site parking. The spaces are very tight for larger cars, and despite being clearly marked, guests/owners of other properties seemed to regard them as a free for all. We had to leave a note on a car to ask them to move so that we could use the allocated space for Kimberlin. There is parking right opposite development and at quiet times there are spaces - but in busy season that's not the case and we had to park some distance away.
Many thanks for your feedback - we are delighted that you enjoyed the property and its proximity to the lovely Chesil Beach. In relation to your comments about the size of the kitchen. There are two extra chairs in the cupboard and, although the kitchen isn’t massive, we have easily accommodated 6 around the table (plus there is the outside ample dining space for use in the summer). We do advise guests that the parking can be tight for larger cars and suggest that they consider using the free outside parking if the development is busy. Property Owner

"Lovely and spotless house which surpassed our expectations."
The kitchen had everything you needed and the fact there was a car park space inside the gated area outside the property was a bonus. As we were there in March we were prepared for the property to be a bit on the cool side but it was lovely and warm. The beds were really comfortable. Chesil beach is literally a stone’s throw away with a great pub 2 minutes walk. Would definitely book again if we were to return to Portland.

"Absolutely loved the property and the area."
Will be returning

"We had a lovely time staying at Kimberlin."
It was very clean, had everything needed (even beach towels) and there was a delicious welcome basket. We had a problem with the back door lock but the owner dealt with that extremely quickly. It was so nice to hear the waves against the pebbles and view wonderful sunsets from the top bedroom window. The car parking space is tight for larger cars and we ended up parking outside the gated area opposite the development but that was not a problem. One small suggestion is for a larger shower mat for the downstairs bathroom as the small mat provided does not catch all the water from the shower. The location is great and well placed to visit many areas of Dorset. We particularly enjoyed walking from Lulworth Cove to Durdle Door, walking along Chesil Beach, visiting the lighthouse and also the Tout Quarry Sculpture park. Many thanks to the owners for sharing their lovely property.
Hi Colin, many thanks for your kind comments - Kimberlin now has larger shower mats! Property Owner

"Tastefully furnished and almost everything you'd need for a home away from home."
Location was amazing being so close to the beach and loved the sea view from our bedroom. Great to have reserved, secure parking too. Was clean and different floors and the outside patio gave us space from each other which we needed for a longer stay! There was a nice welcome basket which included Dorset apple cake which was delicious! We holidayed for 2 weeks and things that you don't think of too much for a week started to niggle on our 2nd week. Beds were comfy but the duvets were 10 tog which were far too hot for summer and just using the cover was sometimes too cold, so summer duvets needed. The lounge TV was painful to use as as the remote slow and unresponsive, and it had limited functionality. When you've got younger kids, you will spend a fair amount of time in your holiday home and not having a decent TV with the ability to download streaming apps that we use like Disney was a faff. The upstairs Fire TV could do that but only if you have a prime account, which we do but it often just wouldn't work properly as Fire devices are prone to do. Also whilst we brought our own consumables like dishwasher tabs etc we hadn't expected to need bin liners for week 2. If you're staying for a week then none of this should bother much! A couple of extra notes to include that aren't written but good to know: The pebble beach has a steep bank to the shore line and a very short promenade so if you want to take a long walk, would advise wearing hiking boots. Nice cafe on the beach which sometimes hosts lovely evening pop up evening restaurants - check their Facebook page for more details.

"The property was lovely and clean and well equipped with everything we could need."
The location was great so near to the beach and other attractions. We loved our stay

"Fabulous holiday cottage, beautifully decorated & really well equipped (best I’ve experienced )."
A minor thing, bath/shower mats for when you walk out of the shower would be a good addition. The location & proximity to the beach was excellent and the sunsets really amazing.
Hi - thank you so much for your feedback, delighted you enjoyed your holiday at Kimberlin. There should have been shower mats there as we do provide these, but it is possible these were missed in which case apologies! Best wishes Property Owner

"A stunning property, immaculately clean and a lovely welcome basket of goodies and pint of milk in the fridge waiting for us."
Kimberlin has a boutique hotel look and feel with a fully-equipped kitchen which made it instantly feel like home. We loved our stay and with the beach just 30-seconds away we could sit in the garden area and listen to the waves. We thoroughly recommend the Cove House Inn pub for delicious food which is in walking distance. Make time to sit and watch the sunsets - they are different each night! With sea views from the property within a gated development and allocated parking, you couldn’t ask for a more perfect place to stay! Thank you to the owners for providing a 5-star retreat, we loved every minute.

"Dissappointed that, although only 2min walk to sea, the sea view wasn't as good as expected."
It was only from 1 bedroom at the top, and was obscured by buildings in front. You had to drive or take a bus to shops, as local town was a fairly steep climb.
Thanks for your feedback and sorry to hear that you found certain aspects of the house not to your liking. We have reviewed the property description carefully and believe that it is clear that the sea view is only from the top bedroom. The proximity of the nearest shop is correct on the listing - the one you refer to is indeed up a hill but there is a small supermarket within the mile and on a bus route. We take great care in ensuring the accuracy of the listing and our guests are welcome to contact us with any questions in advance of their stay. Nevertheless, we hope you had a nice week. "Excellent location, accommodation was perfect."
Welcome treats were enjoyed by all. Had a super holiday. Recommend the Cove House Inn for food, be sure to book. Would certainly stay here again.

"Kimberlin was a super property from which to enjoy all that Dorset has to offer."
The property was beautifully presented and was very well appointed. We book holiday properties frequently and were impressed with the provisions in the kitchen (including sharp knives - so often the knives are blunt from use) and the little gift basket was a lovely touch. We were travelling with 2 small children so the fact there was a bath, washing machine and drier, and games to play, made our stay that much less stressful.
Lovely to know that you enjoyed your stay at Kimberlin! Thanks for your review and do come again! Property Owner
