"The location is beautiful."
The house is great apart from a few minor issues. The space was as advertised. Great to have three toilets and two showers. Kitchen was very well equipped. The whole house was in perfect condition. The central heating and hot water were very good and there was an endless supply of wood and kindling to add extra atmosphere. If the weather had been better we’d have made use of the large and beautiful garden. Parking was a bit tricky because it’s on a steep hill, but we got the knack. Not sure if the top drive is part of the house, so mainly used the one on same level as the house. My elderly parents feel the cold and have done mobility problems. They were able to get in and around the house with no difficulty and it was warm and comfortable for them. There was a very generous and tasty welcome pack. The only issues were: It was a squeeze for six adults in the lounge, not due to the size of the space but the choice of furniture: two overly large armchairs and a settee which was a squeeze for three medium adults. The downstairs toilet is prone to blocking: we didn’t put anything down it that you shouldn’t and there is a notice about the problem. So either solve the problem or tell guests they should only urinate in it.

"Fabulous property with fabulous gardens, lovely setting for peace and quiet."
Great facilities and plenty of parking. Really not happy with the fact I was not informed of the major road closures on all the main roads within less than a mile of the property for one third of the day! Meant I had to change my plans so as to be back from anywhere earlier than I wanted and was prevented from going out in the evening ! Terrible lack of information regarding this disruption. Not happy there was no hot water and heating until someone came and turned it back ON ! Not happy with the appearance of strangers walking around the property with no notification or introduction (from "Lyme Bay holidays"), rented the property for peace and to have no disturbances ! Not happy with the lawn mowers and strimmer's being wielded in the garden at stupid o'clock in the morning for a holiday property waking me up ! In essence I loved the property but disliked the way it was being managed.

"One of the best equipped holiday properties we have stayed in."
We found it a good base from which to walk to, and along, the coast. One minor suggestion (not for publication) is that the owner gets the Watchman Oil Level Guage working correctly and avoids concern that the oil was about to run out.

"We all loved our last minute holiday at your beautiful house."
Everything we needed was there and the beds were very comfortable. We were lucky to enjoy the extensive garden one evening in the sun. Thank you so much

"Superbly equipped, spotlessly clean and well-decorated."
Our family had a very comfortable stay. I suggest there needs to be a note in the kitchen about turning on the hot water (switch on the landing). Also note the access lane is very steep and narrow, but we managed. I liked the recycling bins.
Thank you for the feedback - much appreciated. Your points are indeed noted - and we will action them. Best regards - The Barn Close Farm team. Property Owner

"We had a lovely stay at Barn Close Farm - it was the perfect location for some good Mountain Biking routes."
The cottage was very well equipped with plenty of cooking utensils and useful cutlery. We made good use of the log burner and it was great to have plentiful logs in the store outside. Only 2 minor comments - it would have been good to have a note in the kitchen re turning on the hot water & heating (we didn’t realise & came back from cycling to cold showers) and also we were a bit overpowered by the room fragrance defusers! Otherwise we enjoyed our stay.

"This was a really nice property for 6 adults with excellent indoor facilities and a spacious garden for outdoor eating and relaxing."
We are blessed with 7 days of glorious weather so made the most of it. The suggestion that we could also use the adjacent field is a bit out of date because it is very overgrown. There are only a few minor points we want to make that would help future visitors. The approach via a steep, single track lane with loose gravel was a bit of a surprise on arrival, particularly when we met a car coming the other way. It was never a problem after that but an advanced warning (after a long drive) would be helpful. It would also help if the name of the property was easily visible on arrival (i.e. facing down the hill). The key safe was easy to find but all the logs piled up beneath it made access tricky (for us older folk!). However, those are minor points and should be read as such. Overall, this is a great property for a week on the glorious Dorset coast. We highly recommend it.

"We had a really enjoyable stay at Barn Close Farm."
It is a lovely house in a picturesque setting, ideal situated being a stone's throw from Lyme Regis and the Jurassic coast. Only a couple of minor points for improvement. The key safe probably needs replacing as we found it challenging to unlock it when we arrived. Also the mattresses in the main bedroom were a little on the soft side and could be replaced with a king size main mattress.

"It is a very good property and with just a few relatively small changes I would be able to rate it as r star."
. A blind is required to protect the eyesight of people using the kitchen sink from intense sunlight. The security key box needs to be more accessible. Presently it can only be opened by climbing on a pile of logs. Also, without a torch it is difficult to set the dials correctly. It would have been very helpful to have a welcome folder in order to bring together the most important items of information. For example, the wifi password needs to be clearer as presently it is on a separate piece of fading paper. The property can be reached by two narrow lanes and advice on which is best for driving down and which is best for up would be useful. The property is set in very nice gardens and is well placed for interesting walks. The kitchen is very well equiped. All lthe rooms are a good size.
