  • "We had a lovely week staying in Sandbanks and this holiday flat was just what we wanted - located in an amazing area but very reasonably priced."

    We found it clean, comfortable, enjoyable to spend the week, and the listing gave an accurate description. Just the sort of place we would book again when visiting these parts.

  • "Pros the location is great, flat basic but ok for a week to stay in."

    Cons, no freezer, the sofa is bad, back bit so tilted back not comfy to sit on, and the beds are hard. The small bedroom blind lets in all the light so hard to sleep and the curtains in the main room are broken and gape open.

    Only issue we had was the shower it was either scalding hot or freezing. The flat could do with a freezer and not just a fridge. Overall we have a nice stay with amazing weather

  • "We know the area well and were quite excited to stay at Sandbanks as it is a very opulent place."

    In the event, the flat was a bit shabby with cheap furniture. The patio door was wedged shut and I had to climb through the window to free it. Weeds growing through the decking and a filthy balcony screen. No seats. It took a while to fathom out the remote controls for the lights and heater. The fridge was a larder fridge so no ice. The blinds in bedroom 1 were broken and bedroom 2 had no chair or table so clothes went on the floor. The swivel chairs at the breakfast bar turned mealtimes into a game of bucking broncho. The couple in the flat above had a baby and started their day at 6.00 am. The seagulls on the roof opposite started their day at 3.00 am.

    Hi Chris, sorry you experienced these issues. We have since put a new chair into the second bedroom, where there is plenty of hanging space. One of the bar stools was indeed beyond repair and so we have taken it to the tip. The patio door can be a little stiff but I have never not been able to open it. There is no freezer in the flat currently. The lighting in the living room we have since changed, thereby removing the remote control. The balcony we have looked at again and put new furniture out and we now spray down the balcony screen more frequently. Thanks for your feedback. Property Owner

  • "We throughly enjoyed our stay at this great apartment and would highly recommend for its spacious, homely, clean and comfortable facilities."

    The private view looking out onto the communal garden is a treat to wake up to after spending the night in the big comfortable bed. A parking space is a big bonus, as parking in the area of Poole/Bournemouth is busy and expensive. It’s a great for location to the beach, chain ferry and bus services to Poole and Bournemouth. Finally, we were down visiting family and were able to extend our stay. The owner was very accommodating and was prompt with returning our call when we had a query. We will definitely look to book this apartment on our next visit.

  • "We found the property both uncomfortable and not particularly clean."

    Specifically the lounge sofa was totally inadequate to sit for more than few minutes. The sinks had not been cleaned in a while..The two easy chairs covers were badly faded and not at all comfortable. The windows to the balcony both inner and outer were in need of a clean..the lights in the sitting room were a law until themselves. The bathroom shower grouting was hanging off and very dirty. Grouting was missing from the floor tiles. Altogether a very disappointing holiday. Will not be using Sykes cottages again. Light shade in the sitting room was full of dead flies. Rug in the sitting room was not at all clean and very hairy. Altogether a very expensive disappointing holiday.

    Hello Margaret, thank you for your feedback. Following your comments I have replaced the couch with one which is indeed much more comfortable. I have also restored the two easy chairs to their former vibrant colour - they had become a little faded. The bathroom has now been fully grouted as it should have been. The rug in the living room has been replaced with a new one. The cleaning is usually immaculate and the flat is spotless on arrival. Sandbanks is a premium destination and so is a little more expensive than elsewhere. I hope you will consider holidaying with Sykes again and specifically at Flat 5 Fairwinds.   • "Really lovely apartment, very comfortable bed, living room chairs a bit less so…."

    .everything you need for a good holiday (a coffee maker of any sort would be a good addition!) definitely recommend and if staying in the area again would certainly rebook.

  • "A lovely flat in a great location, within a short walk to the dog beach and ferry to Swanage."

    Although it was in an apartment block, my experience was that it was very quiet throughout my stay. The flat was bright and cheerfully decorated. It was clean and well-equipped. Great to find a flat that takes dogs! Thank you to the owners and Sykes.

  • "Fantastic location and a privilege to be able to stay on Sandbanks at a reasonable cost."

    Bedrooms comfortable and bathroom a decent size with bath and a shower. Had a great holiday and would definitely return in the future. Ps. Need a new kettle as existing is badly scaled. Sofa is not very comfortable.

  • "Unfortunately this property was extremely disappointing."

    Didn’t seem like it had been cleaned ready for guests - filthy rug in living room, dead insects in main light fitting of lounge, cobwebs and spiders, paint stains in bath obviously from decorating, dirty fridge, dirty toilet, all in all felt grubby! Bedrooms were clean and comfortable but main living area not and towels were thin and need updating. Seating not suitable for lounging in. We are ex-owners of a Sandbanks property and sadly this property is not what you would expect for the area. Will not be re-booking.
