Everything was supplied including essentials, milk, tea and even a bottle of prosecco . Amazing quality bedding and towels all supplied too. Great location with parking and bus stop just across the road. Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.

The only suggestion I would make is a 'mind your head' sign at the bottom of the stairs not just visible to people descending. I also think the steepness and shallowness of the treads should be mentioned in the main cottage details.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We are so glad you had an enjoyable stay. And appreciate your note re the stairs and sign. We will add another sign visible when ascending. Hope to see you again in the future. Property Owner

  • "Overall our stay was very comfortable, the property was very well equipped with everything you could possibly need."

The welcome pack was a nice touch and very useful. Be aware of the stairs as they are quite steep, no problem for younger people but as grandparents we had to to take extra care on them. Likewise the driveway being on a slope could also be tricky for us. That said no major problem. Our party arrived in two cars one of which we parked in the garage, where it stayed as we used the buses, as the stops were very close. As the weather was good the grandchildren also made good use of the garden. Thank you.

  • "The property was lovely & clean, kitchen & dinning area was the best part of the house."

It would have been nice to have more pint/big glasses as we didn't have enough for our size party. The ensuite bathroom was very small & when you were drying yourself you had to open the door to give yourself more room. The master bedroom door didn't shut properly either. The directions to the property weren't great and it was difficult to find. The drive was very steep & when you take 3 cars you have to park one on the steep drive to the right of the property. The road is also a busy road & unfortunately we had to reverse out on to the main road & we had to watch the person reversing out on the main road which isn't ideal. It would have been nice to have had a larger t.v in the lounge as the 32" provided was difficult to see from certain seats; it needed to be bigger for a party of 7. Finally, you might want to consider replacing the kettle as we had to redo several drinks because of scale/residue in the cups.

Thank you for your comments which we take seriously. I'm sorry you didn't find the house large enough to suit your party but hope you enjoyed your stay nonetheless. We will make a note in the listing about the steep drive since this has been mentioned a few times. We are looking at buying a new larger TV for the house, and have now purchased a new kettle and large beer glasses for the property. If you have called us on the numbers provided during your stay, we would have been happy to provide those for your visit and also send someone to sort the master bedroom door which we weren't aware didn't close. Thank you again for bringing these points to our attention. Property Owner

The very steep drive to the main road was a shock but we managed. A spare set of keys would have been handy as sometimes we had to hide them in garden. But overall satisfactory

  • "Beautiful property, very clean and well presented, we love it."

The only comment I would add is possibly a stairgate or similar device could be fitted at the top of the stairs as they are quite steep if you have a young family. Otherwise perfect.

Thank you so much for your feedback. So glad you had a lovely stay. We will take on board your comments re a stairgate and get one fitted. Hope to see you again sometime at Fisherbridge Cottage! Property Owner

  • "The property is absolutely lovely."

It’s obvious that the owner has spent time and money making this property immaculate. There are 4 lovely bedrooms. The downstairs is spacious with a large living space and a huge kitchen dining area. There are doors from the kitchen dining out onto the patio and garden. I particularly valued the amenities and facilities which the property provided - dishwasher, washing machine, garage, downstairs WC, 6 chair dining table, outdoor garden seating area with table and chairs, parking, 3 x WCs 1 of which is en suite, hoover to name a few. I would happily return to the property again, this is the 5th time we have stayed on a Sykes cottage in Dorset and this was the best. Rob

Very central to visit many places within an hour. Went to lyme regis, weymouth, Bournemouth, sandbanks and lulworth cove. Cottage is well equipped and perfect for a family of 6. Parking on the slope a bit tricky so used the garage and the space opposite. Garden was great for a barbecue. Used the log burner on our wet day.

Beds were very comfy too. We has a great stay, 7 of us in total with 3 small children. The stairs were very steep so would recommend a stair gate, but we blocked this with our suitcases to ensure the kids did not fall down if they got up at night. Parking is steep and limited but no issue really especially with the garage. We all had a great stay, location perfect too for ease to get to places. Thank you. Lovely pre Xmas break and the cottage had lovely Xmas decorations too which was a nice touch....and we had our own elf on the shelf that visited us so the kids were over the moon with 'snowflake'

  • "The property suited our requirements perfectly."

We were on holiday with family to celebrate my husband’s 60th birthday. The lounge felt cosy, especially with the log burner in use, but also offered plenty of space for everyone. The kitchen diner was lovely. Often whoever was cooking was joined by everyone else sat round the table chatting and enjoying the bright space. The bedrooms were comfortable and all had plenty of storage. The garage, accessed from the utility, was brilliant as it allowed us to get our 5 month old granddaughter in and out of her car seat in the dry! Having one car in the garage also created more space for our other car to park in front of the property. We had a wonderful week and thoroughly enjoyed staying at Fisherbridge cottage. It’s one of the best places my husband and I have stayed in and we’ve been renting Sykes properties for several years. The location was great for visiting Weymouth and Dorchester. A special mention for the garden centre at Poundbury which looks amazing with all their Christmas displays. Definitely worth a visit.

Thank you so much for your lovely review. It means a lot to us. We are so glad you had an enjoyable stay and hope to see you again sometime. Thank you also for leaving the property so clean after your stay - always much appreciated. Property Owner

  • "The property is beautifully presented and within easy access to all that Weymouth and the surrounding area has to offer."

We did find that although the property lists a microwave there didn’t appear to be one unfortunately. Also the stairs to the bedrooms are steeper than some people may be used to, also the designated parking zone, although visitors could make use of the garage to park their car.

Hello. Thanks so much for your feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed the cottage and the area. I wish you had called the number provided so that we could have told you how to use the microwave. It's a bit confusing as the smaller of the two ovens is a combination oven and microwave. The instruction manual is in the guest folder, but if you've never used a combination oven/microwave before I can understand it would look like there wasn't a microwave there. I take your points about the parking. The space at the side of the garden is steep but there is also a space opposite the cottage. However, it's not clearly labelled as parking for Fisherbridge Cottage so we will correct that! Best wishes, Property Owner
