  • "The property is situated near the beach and shops."

It's easy to get around Dorset on public transport. The owner went out his way to provide us with lovely stay. He also gave us a welcome gift of wine. The cottage was clean and well maintained. I would definitely recommend it to friends and family.

  • "A lovely place."

Short walk to Weymouth Beach - sandy and great for swimming with the kids. Didn’t need to drive around much because the location is so great. The house had everything we needed and a nice relaxed feel. Thank you.

  • "Positives were that the house was close to the seafront, station, buses and shops, provided you are fit enough for a 10 to 15 minute walk, the double bed was comfortable, there was plenty of hot water for the shower and the heating worked well ( we did have to use it briefly, even in June) Negatives were that it was a 12 minute walk to the carpark where we could use the parking permit and a 2 mile drive to it, as you have to go round the railway station."

The house looks like it has been renovated in the photos, which it has, but mainly by painting. There is some new furniture, but the curtains and some of the furniture had clearly belonged to an older person who had lived there. This may not bother some people, but we thought some of it looked slightly grimy and the curtains didn't pull across easily and were very thin, particularly for the bedroom, so I was slightly disappointed when I actually saw the house. It would be a relatively easy job to recitfy this. As I have said, this may not bother some people, but if it you like everything to be modern and new, it might not be for you.

  • "Small Victorian cottage suitable for two adults and two or three children."

Steep stairs need care. Low doorway to bathroom an issue for anyone over 5ft 9in. Lounge sofas small and a bit firm. Kitchen well equipped. Central heating good though controls need clearer instructions.

  • "Falsely advertised."

No sea view. Property stunk of damp and Bathroom had mold - hell for anyone with asthma. Property was so damp it made our clothing damp being in there. I had a rash on my arm and my partner had a rash on her chest after staying here. Crockery was dirty. Boiler instructions for a different boiler. Windows didn't shut, contacted seller who advised me to "jam it with kitchen roll". Avoid.

Thank you for your feedback and I was sorry to read of your experience at Howard Cottage. Firstly I can confirm that there is no sea view from the property or that it has been advertised as having one. We have been to Howard Cottage and have done a thorough check and there are no issues with either mold or damp. A full clean has been completed including all crockery. If you had made us aware of any of the above, we would have sent someone round immediately to help. I do apologise about the issue with window and can confirm that this is being resolved. Thanks Property Owner
